i'm not following?

If they go for it on 4th, and don't get it, it's still an 8 pt game. So they have to stop them and get a TD and 2pt just to tie.

If they do make it on 4th, then they have a chance to tie. I don't think the odds were very good they get into the endzone 2 back to back plays. But then a FG would have won it too.

Or they kick the FG now, make the stop and know it's TD or bust at the end of the game.

I'm still ok with the kick.
Chicken **** call. You're relying on the defense to get a stop, which is el oh el (lol)

In his post game presser MLF said in so many words he wants Rodgers back. Folks are reading too much into a distraught player (AR) after a tough loss.

Of course he wants Rodgers back. What's he going to say?

It doesn't mean Rodgers is going to finish his career here, however.

Jones has had ball security issues in the past 2. he hasn't lost a lot of Fumbles, but he's put the ball on the ground enough for me to take notice and mention it fairly frequently. Today it came back to bite us. The end of the half was a folly, but we drive down and score and it's a 1 possession game. Instead he had fumble number 2 and suddenly it's an 18pt game to start the 2nd half. that hurts. A lot.

You cannot be serious. You don't leave any opportunity there for any one on one much less even chancing a corner getting beat deep. You play cover 3 or cover 4 and keep everything in front and leave the middle of the field wide open. Your absolute worst case scenario you leave is a short checkdown for 10 yards that gets out of bounds and allows enough time for a long FG chance. Anything in the field of play is halftime.

You do realize that Mike Pettine's own boss threw him under the bus for that call. It was an egregiously bad defensive playcall.
All I can figured is Pettine has compromising photos of sunshine and he's obligated to take up for Pettine's obvious horseshit effort to be competitive.

LaFleur’s quote about the TD at the end of the 1st half:

"It was man coverage; definitely not the right call for the situation."

In a situation where you HAVE to keep them out of the endzone you call man with nothing deep. IDIOT call, and should be out of the league for that alone.

He has no problem playing prevent defense in situations he shouldn't...but when he should he doesn't. Speechless.

typically for the type of dynamic/elusive type of back like Aaron Jones, they usually have the ball security issues

Guys like Dillon, Lacy, etc won't be as dynamic/elusive but will be more "power" guys and have better ball security

so I guess it's pick your poison?

Although, Dillon has demonstrated he has good hands

maybe, but then you just saw your offense do nothing in 3 attempts from 1st and goal from the exact same spot at the 8. 1 more was the magic charm? you feeling confident? call it chickenshit, or maybe call it picking your battles. I'm ok with the points I needed anyway. Maybe if my QB runs it and gets to the 2 or 3 trying for the score I feel like having more "guts". i don't think kicking the FG was a bad decision.

I mean I don't know how we always end up with such incompetent D coordinators

Pettine, Capers, Bates, etc

It's like they have above average to All Pro type talent with J'Aire, Amos, Savage (I think he will be good) and their defesnes always make boneheaded mistakes

Tonight, we can watch micah Hyde lead a competent (mostly) Bills D

Okay so honest opinion. Would you rely on Rodgers getting 8 yards on 1 play or your defense getting a stop on 2 sets of downs? AGAINST THE GOAT.....Give me a break.

If we get down to it, it's essentially this.

The Packers made almost every wrong move in the first half, including a borderline 13 point swing.

Redmond dropping that pick will haunt my dreams. Don't get me started on the Scotty Miller hailmary.

Last year, the Packers were well and truly not good enough to get to the SB.

What sucks is that this year they absolutely were good enough to win it all, and it slipped away.

Someone needs to change the notifications on Guteys cellphone to "defense wins championships".

well, they just went INT, INT, INT, 8 play FG drive that saw 1 pass down field and a short pass taken for 30 or so by Gronk with one heck of a block in the back at the point of the catch. I was feeling ok with our defense at that point.

So they get the 6, but not the 2. They still need a stop from our defense.

No, I did not feel really good about our chances at putting the ball in the endzone back to back plays there.

See, you're a prisoner of the moment. Forgetting who you're going against.

Give me the MVP with a play to win it as opposed to "hoping" you get the ball back.

This should be a no brainer. Especially when, either way, you'll need a TD to win or extend.

It wasn't a play to win it though. It was a play to have a chance to tie only if you make it.

If Rodgers would have just run it in, then the 4th down is moot.

Typo. Address the rest of the post accordingly.

That one play would have gave the Packers a chance. A chance that otherwise, the team didn't have.

You say this as if AR is Lamar Jackson or something....

Aaron is 37, great shape, but I don't think that that is a guaranteed TD right there honestly... he probably gets stopped a few yards short

That was my initial reaction, but my thought after seeing it again was he makes it to the 3-5 range. I don't think he would have gotten in

I don't think you get it though

IF we go for it on 4th down these 3 things can happen
A) We get the TD and the 2 point conversion to TIE the GAME
B) We get the TD and MISS THE 2 POINT CONVERSION and NEED THE BALL BACK
C) We do NOT get the TD and NEED THE BALL BACK

I don't know what else to say. I think our chance at FG and TD to win were better than TD/2pt to tie. In some ways making it a scenario where you were forced to win or lose was kind of ballsy if you ask me.

I am sick of his passive reactionary defenses. I hope we get someone who will allow our guys to take it to the offense instead of the other way around.
