I hope that I am absolutely dead wrong, but this team traded up in the first round for a QB for a reason.

AR12's presser tonight was brutally honest. Gute's plans at QB is a convo for another time (will come up soon), but it's clear that they for some reason want to move on from him.

(Fun Fact: Gute tried to draft Drew Lock in the draft before)

Or they might be trying to make sure they have some one in the wings? Rodgers is 37 and will be 38 next year.

All I ask is watch that play over and over. IF Lazard isn't held that ball is even thrown worst than when he was. It was behind him with the hold, without lazard is easily step farther inside and that ball is still behind.

It was a skinny post and thrown behind Lazard by a foot or so, he had to turn to adjust his body if he were to make the catch anyway

But as someone else said - does that make it okay for the DB to hole the WR? King held that guy at the end of the game even tho the pass is bad and they get the call.

He's the MVP. Love is nothing.

I just don't understand why they've been so determined to find the next step, when they have the piece to get them there.

I know he got hurt, but Aaron Jones was so disappointing in this game, and that was his last game as a Packer.

I am merely defending the fact he attempted a throw he shouldn't have, and to top it off the throw was off to start. The hold should have been called, however doesn't change my thoughts on that one specific play in a crucial time.

I've said numerous times before... I just see "it" in Drew Lock... If they can get Lock still, they should try to get him

Similar to a Brett Favre intangible... hard to explain

They may be seeing a ceiling with Aaron... Great regular season stats, but 1-4 in the NFCCG and only one Super Bowl (a win)

I don't really see what they see in Love... a guy who threw 17 interceptions in his last year in college at a small conference, that's what I see

Right I actually like the FG call

If things go right, AR gets the ball with 45 to 1:30 left with NO timeouts but I like our chances

The bad thing is, Tom Brady remembered to AVOID J'aire this time LOL

I didn't mind it either. If we get the ball back we only have to get a TD and get the lead without the extra point. If we pass on the FG, miss scoring on 4th down we are still down by 8.

How would the scenario of the Packers getting the ball back be any different?
i'm not following?

If they go for it on 4th, and don't get it, it's still an 8 pt game. So they have to stop them and get a TD and 2pt just to tie.

If they do make it on 4th, then they have a chance to tie. I don't think the odds were very good they get into the endzone 2 back to back plays. But then a FG would have won it too.

Or they kick the FG now, make the stop and know it's TD or bust at the end of the game.

I'm still ok with the kick.

Brett Favre took us to the NFCCG in 2007, which we lost by the way too in heartbreaker to the Giants....

And he was 28 tds to 15 ints

*no one say anything about the interceptions becasuse that was still relatively with the "old rules"

You just advocated for firing the DC because the CB forgot how to play corner. In that situation the corner should know not to get beat deep; instead, King watched Brady and stopped backpedaling for a second for reasons that confound all logic. Pettine has issues but don't blame the guy for Gute not getting him a decent 2nd corner.

I don't think King has to worry about his Mensa dues...

exactly. I 100% agree with Mondio here and I think that this was MLF's thought process too

If we go for it on 4th and get the TD and MISS THE 2PT, we have to get it back anyway
If we kick it, we just need to get it back and score again to win

vs

If we go for it on 4th and DON'T get the TD...then we're kind of just in the first scenario again anyway

LaFleur’s quote about the TD at the end of the 1st half:

"It was man coverage; definitely not the right call for the situation."

Is this supposed to compare Brett to Aaron?

AR12 had 50+ TDs this year lol.

My absolute worst fear is we move off him and Jordan Love is awful.

No this is because it was the same scenario... minus the retirement talks

We had gotten close a bunch of times and the loss at home in 2007 in the NFCCG to the Giants was kind of the "last straw"

It was one of a few things that could have been the difference.
If we get down to it, it's essentially this.

The Packers made almost every wrong move in the first half, including a borderline 13 point swing.

Redmond dropping that pick will haunt my dreams. Don't get me started on the Scotty Miller hailmary.

In his post game presser MLF said in so many words he wants Rodgers back. Folks are reading too much into a distraught player (AR) after a tough loss.

You cannot be serious. You don't leave any opportunity there for any one on one much less even chancing a corner getting beat deep. You play cover 3 or cover 4 and keep everything in front and leave the middle of the field wide open. Your absolute worst case scenario you leave is a short checkdown for 10 yards that gets out of bounds and allows enough time for a long FG chance. Anything in the field of play is halftime.

You do realize that Mike Pettine's own boss threw him under the bus for that call. It was an egregiously bad defensive playcall.

He got hurt on that play and never returned. I don't blame him for that one. The TD they got at the end of the first half was the real killer today.

I mean great play/hit placement by Whitehead to cause that fumble (and the other one) but ball security is still Rule Number 1 for all backs

I don't think he will be back though unless he takes a pay cut
