I've long felt Hockenson would be the least **** pick possible at 12 (good player but feel better routes are available) and wouldve preferred a mydrad of options there but after reading the extreme hyperbole regarding him from Brandon I'm fully on board with picking him at 12 now just to read the reaction

You've been saying it's a waste of time talking about it for two months, yet here you still are.

First it was that he might go in the 3rd round, then it was that he wouldn't go in the first round, and now you're just clawing up for excuses. It's okay to be wrong. I'm wrong often. You (clearly) are too. It's okay! You'll get over it someday big guy.

If some team wastes a 1st round pick on him thats great.

As long as it's not the Packers. ;)

His peers at TE. He measures out at the 21st percentile according to his bench press.

Source: https://www.mockdraftable.com/player/tj-hockenson

The bench press is a terrible measure of functional football strength, at TE or any position. There is zero correlation to the field.

George Kittle-- same position, same program-- did one more rep than Hockenson and he's one of the best young blockers in the game.

Did you watch him before coming to this conclusion?

You're going to need to define "hyperbole" for Brandon so he knows how to properly respond to you in all caps.

The Bench was important when Oliver repped out the other day? You were all happy happy.

Yes, bench is important for OL, DL and guys that will be blocking inline in the NFL. So that would include TE's.

Nice try. That's exactly why they test it.

I was using Oliver's bench reps because you seem to think it's the most important strength test, and you called him weak. I was calling you out using YOUR standards.

If the bench was so incredibly important, Calais Campbell with his 16 reps would've washed out of the league. I'm not saying it doesn't matter, but give me cleans and squats over that any day.

This forum is becoming a complete DEBACLE with all the LIES and UNTRUTH'S being told.

It's getting really hard with all the FALSE information from people that don't know what the hell they are talking about.

I agree!!

I for one shall listen to the man who said Charles Harris is an elite athlete and will easily be a double digits sack guy in his first couple years.

George Kittle: 18 bench reps. One of the best blocking TE's in the league.

TJ Hockenson: 17 bench reps. Gonna get manhandled in the league.

Dude, I don't have the time to talk how bench press correlates to guys in the trenches. Go read a book on it. I actually played football for 13 seasons through college. Played with and against many that played in the NFL through the years.

The bench press is very important for guys in the trenches. There basically extending there arms on every play. Is there guys that overcome a weak bench press mark? Yes, but once again its few and far between.

It's like receivers that run 4.7. Is there some good or great ones? Yes,but not many?

You gotta start evaluating these things on probabilities.

I completely understand. I think you should stop exposing yourself to all of the lies and untruths. It's just not worth it. It's too late for the rest of us. Save yourself.

Once again your finding ONE guy to prove a point.

Notice how I said "HE COULD GET MANHANDLED". I didn't say he would. If TJ doesnt do something else elite in the frame work of blocking he could have some serious problems in the NFL.

Regardless it's a huge Red Flag.

Well, along with all the harassment I put up with it might just come to that.

Kyle Rudolph: 19 reps coming out. Also weak and cannot block.

Hunter Henry: 13 reps! Cannot play.

Oddly enough, that thought went through my head as well. Sure Oliver or someone else might be a better pick at #12, but the sheer entertainment that will be provided in this forum if Hochenson gets picked there, might make my 2019 season. :devilish::laugh:

Hochenson at #12 and than N’Keal Harry at #30 might make Rodgers Day.

Gute watched Harry play against USC back on 10/27, while in LA for the Rams game. He also traveled to Arizona for Harry's Pro day last week. Could be a reach at #30, but a definite value at #45.

And what is football if not for pure entertainment?

I'm just here for the chaos.

I like Harry as well. I don't like pro player comparisons so I'll do one:D

Keenan Allen.

I like those top 2 picks and if you add Thornhill at #44 then I will buy the Champagne after night 2 of the draft.

Cheers!

Biggest difference between Keenan Allen coming out and N'Keal Harry right now is in their releases against press. Allen is great at avoiding the jam. Harry lacks creativity.

Your new name should be "PIPE DREAM DANTE"

There not taking Hockenson at 12 so get over it. They have three TE's under contract and Tonyan has just as good a chance to develop and be great as Hockenson does.

Tonyan actually has the speed to stretch the seam.

WE DON'T F***** NEED HOCKENSON. IT'S JUST INSANE. I CAN'T TAKE THIS NO MORE. IT'S JUST RIDICULOUS

ANOTHER FAIRY TALE THREAD AND CHASING UNICORNS BY "DANTE"

That seals it. I hope they take Hockenson at 12. Hell, I hope they trade up to take him at 7.

Some have said he uses a little stutter step in his releases at times that they don't like, but other times they are impressed with his release against press. If you wanna quibble on that while this kid is racking up YAC like a madman and catching everything including every contested ball then be my guest.

Keep in mind those weaknesses you read online are normally laughed at later. Should I list Davante Adams "weaknesses" coming out or do you want to?

I am half joking. I know you were pretty much just giving a difference between Harry and Allen. I get it.
