Amen. I figure whenever I stock up on something I end up buying way too much or not needing it. So with that in mind I went to Sam’s Club and bought about 4 Bushels worth of Kleenex, that’s 3,728 Tissues I’ll have on hand for Packer games that I’m sure not to need! It’s sure to lift the curse! Take my ideas with a grain of salt, me Great Great Grandparents were Ole and Lena and not so great great upstairs
We always buy the bundles of tissues, TP, paper towels, paper plates, red solo cups, two sizes of paper bowls, laundry detergent, dish washing soap, and almost all toiletries there as well. Plus, we buy their cod, beef, shrimp, and a ton of stuff there as well. Most we have shipped, and the perishables are delivered. We do delivery from Walmart, HEB, and even Aldi's when we're in Austin. Down in the Valley, no Aldi's available.

As of noon, today's deliveries include orders from everyone except Sam's being delivered. Tomorrow, an order from Sam's will be made. Most of it shipped, perishables will be delivered.

With a rookie kicker and no Mason! Gotta punch those in! :coffee:

Granted, Love didn't make a name for himself as an option QB at Utah State, but I expect MLF to get more creative on short yardage and take advantage of Jordan's youthful legs.
Per the article, 2 "was it a TD or not" by the refs burned time necessitating a spike.

A promising day. Let's hope it helps build his confidence.
However, the kicking really concerns me. Back in 1997 we drafted Brett Conway, a kicker who had a strong leg and thought to be ripe for kicking in the northern climates. He started out terribly especially in the first preseason game. He got injured trying to correct his fundamentals and Ryan Longwell got the job the next game. Hope this turns out differently.

I do remember that. He was our 3rd round pick. #90 in the entire draft! Missed every kick in preseason and was cut before the season even started. Ended up being the guy picked up by desperate teams when their kicker went down, for several years.

I hope this doesn't follow that trend.

Speaking of that. Honestly I’d rather have a Crosby who’s B+ A- inside 50 yards with range inside 55 yards I think way too much weight is put on
“non-scoring” performance over Points.
I can also live without the 58 yard attempts etc.. if that’s the cost to get a solid ~90% inside 50 yards and 99% Xtra points
Just my opinion.

Give me both and I’ll be elated

I guess it turned out to be a blessing in that Longwell became our kicker after Chris Jacke left in free agency. Longwell had a good run in GB. A lot of crunch time work for him. He had a crucial chip shot game winner miss in 97 against Philly. Had the short blocked kick against the Bears in 1999. His last season here in 2005 was bittersweet. But overall he had a lot of game winners and big kicks.

As is paying $200+ for tickets. ;) :roflmao:

I stopped going to concerts when tickets started hitting $150+, ready to do the same with football.
I was looking at the schedule and potential games to go to. The cheapest for nose bleed seats is the Buccaneers game in mid December at $93. Take two people and you're already at $200 for a cold weather game and bad seats. I'm definitely priced out on going to a game.

I feel the pain. Our last game was back in 2003, when they opened the Atrium. Opening day against the Vikings. We got beaten like the proverbial red headed step child. My wife and I left midway through the 3rd quarter it was so bad. That one cost us $1,200. It's ridiculous how much it costs to attend games. But, as long as some people keep paying the price, it will go up.

It's like Sunday Ticket. They raise the prices until people quit buying in.

EDIT: I should mention that I paid for four of us to go that day. My cost was $2,400. That did not include food, except one tailgate.

I too was at that game. I was on the 20 yard line in the lower bowl. Really nice day out, but they did lose. I still have the ticket stub somewhere, "Rebirth of a Legend".

I actually remember that game being close. The Packers almost came back and won it. I had to look it up. Packers lost 25-30. Also, I only had to buy one ticket. If I remember correctly, it was $120.

It is bad enough that the organization sells tickets at a high price, but then once those tickets hit the secondary market, they skyrocket. As Voyageur pointed out, as long as the demand is bigger than the supply, prices just keep going up. If the Packers season goes the way I think it might, by Dec., tickets might become pretty cheap in the secondary market.

I enjoy going to games, but my buddy has season tickets and as long as I drive, pay for parking and buy him a beer or 2 at the game, he won't take money for my ticket. Now if I had to shell out $167+ everything else for the 2-5 games I go to each season, I might decide 1 or 2 games is enough.

Wow, just looked at this article on "Average resale ticket Prices"

Packers: 2023 average ticket price: $384 (Up from $232 in 2022)

Someone offered me Bucs tickets as well. Says they are not selling well. The stage changed because that was the NFC Championship a few years back during the pandemic. I am paying $296 for 2 tickets for the Saints. 10 years ago it was a lot less.

We bought the whole weekend package of motel, and the rest of the hoopla. I ended up being interviewed twice on TV. Before, and after the game. Spent the entire Saturday evening before the game visiting with retired Packer players, whom I knew, and were staying where we were. A great weekend, if you forget that the Packers stunk the stadium up.

Just looking at most games, it's going to cost you $200 to enter the stadium. Those are also for bad tickets. Reasonably okay seats in the lower bowl are going to be at least $275. Looks like end zone are around $150. I'd have to buy two tickets at least. Gas, food, tickets, beverages... I'm priced out. I'll be watching on my 100" projector with a line free bathroom at hand.

That sounds about right. The cheapest I see are $212 behind the glass. I landed a couple last year last minute behind the glass for $75 total for two tickets. It was my sons first regular season game vs the Patriots. It went into overtime. We had fun, but I'm not a huge fan of being behind the glass. Again, it was a fun experience, but I'd rather be outside. Also, I couldn't believe I landed tickets for that prices. Scooped them up right away. I'll keep looking throughout the season to see if I can land some cheap ones and the season goes on.

Longwell was an xlnt kicker for us imho and he had a second career at ?Minihaha? I think. The thing that rankles me is that Conway probably would have won the job merely because he was a 3rd round draft pick if he hadn't got injured. He went on to try with Washington and could not make it. Too often we keep people only because of draft status when it is obvious to everyone someone else is better.

I seem to recall he wasn't injured so much that he was "injured."

Ie, Ron had a little egg on his face for spending a 3rd on a kicker that was losing to an UDFA, told him to play along, and he got stashed on IR.

That’s exactly what I was about to say.
Past an occasion live game at Lambeau every few years, I’d rather spend my money on barbecue Ribs and hot wings etc and have Mr native Packer neighbor over to watch. I never have to fight traffic or wait to use the bathroom. I get instant replay and I use it nearly every game to monitor accuracy of the referees. A game rarely costs me over 50-$60 maximum.

yeah I prefer the convenience of home. It’s fun to hit a live game every couple years, but I’m a 1000 mikes away now. Plus I’m a weather wimp and I’ll normally hit the home opener etc. I go more for the experience not so much to get the best seats though. I’m happy 50 rows up behind the crossbars

I'll hit up 1 game a year and sell the others. Yes, it's way more costly to attend in person, however, there's still nothing like the pre-game tailgating, partying in Titletown, and the gameday in-person experience.

I don't disagree. There's positives and negatives of everything. If I could afford it, I'd go to every game.

It’s true. If YOU were buying and my ticket was all expenses paid I’d probably make most games :coffee:

If it was up to me to buy you’d be a lonely soul waiting by your phone for my call that never came.

Are you saying the staff pretended he was hurt to save face? They resort to that ******** so as not to look bad? That would be pitiful. Though I still see it my way. They would have kept Conway and let Longwell go I believe. I think he was genuinely hurt. Either way; the staff looks pitiful.
