It wears on me now that I am " old ." But what is unique about the pilgrimage to Lambeau is all the other festivities apart from the gridiron. Every game is like a special holiday. Unlike other cities you can park on a side street and walk for a half mile or so with other Packer fans dressed in game garb enroute to the outside tailgate activities. The camaraderie is sacred. The pregame allows you to meet other fans, enjoy the refreshments, and sing to the music. Even the night before the game is a mecca of celebration. The hotels all know why you are there. And win or lose after the game many stick around with no rush to get into the highway jam up. One time I recall wild turkeys holding up traffic on Lombardi Avenue.yeah I prefer the convenience of home. It’s fun to hit a live game every couple years, but I’m a 1000 mikes away now. Plus I’m a weather wimp and I’ll normally hit the home opener etc. I go more for the experience not so much to get the best seats though. I’m happy 50 rows up behind the crossbars
