A completely uninspiring win. We’ve won the last two weeks by a combined total of three points. Both times we let them get back in each game after running out ahead with a decent lead. This is starting to feel a lot like the 2019 team which eked out victories but wasn’t as good as the record suggested. We can’t win decisively and our point differential is pretty bad considering our overall record.

If Mayfield doesn’t make so many dumb decisions, we lose this game easily. The defense had a nice run there mid-season but it’s really fallen off the last five games or so.

Studs: Devante, Rodger, Lazard, Douglas 12th man on pass play, special mention ST didn’t have a complaint today.
Duds: Run D,(during regular season game you can get away with one) Do this in the payoffs and its 1 and done again.
tackling, still needs improvements,
MLF for blowing challenges,

Studs: None Packers were out-rushed, out-passed Rodgers even ave. less than 6 yds per reception. The only stud for the Packers was Mayfield.
Duds: Defense all game. Offense in the 2nd half and the take your foot off the gas play calling. It was atrocious in the 2nd half.

Never play a home game on Christmas. I have seen in both hockey and basketball the home teams tend to be lethargic and the road teams play intense from being away from home.

studs: Mayfield and the refs. The pass rush (at times). Chubb was terrific.

duds: Packer defense, which was like a leaky sieve. The Browns kept running the same darned play to Chubb, and the Packers still couldn't stop it! Also the Packer offense in the second half: another big failure in the Red Zone; the inability to put the Browns away; and failing to keep the ball with under four minutes left. The Brown lost this game; the Packers didn't win it. If they keep playing like this, they're going to get bounced from the playoffs very quickly.

OC's from around the league are drooling over this game film. If it wasn't for 3-4 interception X-Mas gifts from Mayfield, Packers get beat by 2 scores.

Studs: Special Teams! <- no **** the bed moments to speak of, do you believe in miracles?
Duds: Run Defense. When you average 10+ yards a carry, why pass the ball at all? oh well thanks baker

Good teams find ways to Win even when they play poorly. That was this game. We gave the Browns every possible chance (except fumbling or throwing INT) and they would not accept our offer. We dodged a bullet with a W and basically got semi-embarrassed on National TV simultaneously. We needed this game because we got exposed on Defense tonight and that won’t cut it against better balanced teams (like Vikings).

Barry had better get this shipped turned on D quick because that strategy was awful. Our DL got pushed around all night.

ST looked better. Adequate is the word that comes to mind.

Offense has several missed opportunities to put this away earlier. They need to keep the foot on the gas better when winning and having momentum. We went conservative and it nearly cost us the game.

Duds: our linebackers. Where were they? Seemed like our CBs and Safeties were the only guys tackling Chubb.

Well Campbell had about 28 tackles (being sarcastic) but I’m not sure 1 guy can do it all. Barnes got pushed around all night long. Savage looked terrible again, he’s too complacent and next time bring Amos up and keep Savage back in coverage. Savage looks like he’s the opposite of physical.

studs- Mayfield, refs
Duds- entire defense against the run. They were physically mauled. Just and old fsshioned a** kicking by the Browns to average 8.75 yards per rush. This team reminds me of the 2019 team. Nowhere near as good as their record that can get pushed around.

Boy - hard time giving Adams the stud label in this game. His overall numbers were not a problem, but two crucial plays to help the Packers seal the deal, and Adams doesn’t hold onto the ball.

Other then Kenny C, these D - linemen get their ***** whipped on almost every play. Lancaster is terrible, how he is even on a team baffles the mind.

Most of my focus after the game was initially on the porus defense. Ironically, before the game Troy Ackman was talking about how the Packers' run defense was not good and they went out and proved him right. Where was the run stopping defense we saw earlier this season. They do not inspire confidence moving forward.

But on top of that the offense must have decided that the game was over in the 3rd quarter and went home. How many 3 and outs did they have? I was not crazy about the play-calling. They just look out of sync. I hope they get this stuff fixed or we may be disappointed once again.

Time of possession goes to CLE 31:51 to 28:19
Total Yards CLE 408 to 311
Rushing CLE 219 to 109
And the real kick in the gut, First Downs CLE 28 to 19
Third Down Conversions CLE 7 of 12 to our 3 of 10.

A Silver lining is that Cleveland has flown somewhat under the radar. They were 1 of the top 5 Rushing teams in the NFL before today. Now we probably made them #1.
I’m confident we just eliminated them from playoffs though (maybe not statistically) and it’s highly doubtful we see them again this season

I did see some holding on several Runs that might’ve come back. However the Refs we’re letting them play physical on BOTH sides and not calling ticky tack stuff, so I’m ok with that. Let them play
