Our next 2 games are on the road (Bill and Lions). Dating back to 2010, the Packers are 6-6 @ Detroit, so that game is hardly a gimmie either.
None of them are gimmes. Washington wasn’t even a gimme.

However in that example, us going to Detroit in 2 weeks with Claypool, Watkins, Lazard, Doubs increases our probability substantially.

I’d put Doubs in the Slot

I mean shoot I'd be all over that, however you have to have a team that is willing to be in a sell mode - the Chargers are not rebuilding or in sell mode.
Honestly, while the Packers definitely need help in the receiving department, I would question giving too much up for a top WR or TE at this point. Especially if that player was in his final contract year. I just don't know how long it will take for a top receiver (TE or WR) to effectively generate enough chemistry with Rodgers and the offense to impact the 2022 season enough to warrant leveraging more future capital. It is a catch-22 for sure, if you don't do a thing, is that saying this season is all but lost or is it acknowledging that adding a single player at this point in the season, won't be enough to warrant the investment?

As a starter??? How many WR's you want on the field at the same time?

No seriously. Doubs as our Slot.
Sammy, Lazard and Claypool as a perimeter rotation. You’ll have 3 WR. on the field on many plays.
That's what needs to change. 3wr's on the field should be seen less than 10 snaps a game imo. Jones should be used as a slot or motioned out wide more often than we see 3wr's.

Everyone is saying his accuracy is off..Moose Johnson even mentioned it.
Yes he is prob the least of an issue, but there is an issue.
Usually when this happens, they say Rodgers and the receivers aren't on the same page. As in, maybe the receivers aren't where Rodgers expects them to be, as in maybe they're not running their routes correctly? I'm sure there's some of that going on, but Rodgers still has his part of the blame. One thing going wrong seems to lead to more things going wrong, look how many times we got penalized yesterday.

Agreed, things can snowball quickly, that's where leaders and coaches need to step up, otherwise they get out of control.

Does anybody realistically think they will trade for Claypool? This team NEVER makes trades that would involve giving up more than a 7th rd pick!

You seem to be enjoying this. Laughing on every post. Only posting when things are bad. You a Vikings troll?
No I’m not I have been a packers fan my whole life. been here the last ten years in the forum but no one likes the way I talk and have to put a lol after everything I say otherwise some people get butt hurt. I’m not afraid to say it how it is with this team and not make excuses for them I’m not a ignorant fan… “and that is not directed towards anyone” they suck bottom line they have beaten subpar teams the last few years and anytime they play anyone good they can’t get the job done. I have specifically said the last few years they weren’t going anywhere even with their good record all season long losing to San Fran losing to the Bucs losing to San Fran again I kept saying it and everyone hated it but it’s the cold hard truth they aren’t good enough they don’t make any significant moves to get better there was plenty of players that make them better in the past and nobody wanted them because of their “drama” I’m not going into specifics but they wasted Rodgers career he carried them through the years and now he has no weapons they didn’t improve the roster at all this year and I said they would be lucky to win 8 games this year. I blame the front office and **** poor coaching they have had and they hold onto players for way to long that suck. Like the front office is stupid they could have had a good player and they take a qb that absolutely BLOWSSSS and then resign Rodgers for example. they are a hot mess and they are finished.

But Rodgers didn't suck yesterday, he had 3-4 passes that weren't where they should have been. That's as good or better than every QB in the league. So was he perfect, heck no. Was he the reason we lost or even a big part of it? Heck no. quit acting like he was.
Let's blame Rodgers for Doubs not doing what he's supposed to. In a game of professionals where timing and every detail is key, let's blame the QB for not knowing. One week he can't get rid of the ball fast enough, he should throw more short, the next he needs to not throw so short all the time. You know what plays worked best yesterday? Broken ones, but he's not supposed to play hero ball either. He can't win with some of you, ever and it's become obvious.
What I did notice is that I have not seen Packer receivers with such limited separation in years. Even the short stuff. No one was wide open. And that would happen 5-10 times in a game in the last decade. Rodgers had to put so many balls in such a tight window just to hope for a catch. Even the TD throw to Jones in the 4th quarter was covered well and should have been incomplete but for a phenomenal catch. We were spoiled for many years with some top notch receivers. And I do not mean only Adams. Heck, Bill Schroeder got open more than this bunch.

I said this before on here. When Davante Adams left Gute NEEDED to get out there and bring in some proven veteran receiver. Cobb was ALWAYS injury prone and the other so called veteran receivers are sub par and also injured. Gute NEVER addressed the main problem. Instead worrying about moving up to get Love and paying injury prone players too much money! Bakah—- an example of that costly mistake. He is washed up!!

Ufda’s? Why stop there? Maybe they can hold a fan tryout contest. Winner gets a spot as our #2 WR (all the others who are not injured are tied for the #1 spot), a one year league minimum contract, 20 free in-game drops, and a commemorative jersey.

That’s more realistic than them trading for someone of significance

Bakh was not injury prone, one catastrophic injury doesn't make you injury prone....now Cobb and Watkins careers....injury prone.

I’m about 90% sure GB is actively pursuing at least 1 outside WR

As you said we’ve typically not given up huge draft resources. However we must consider that occasionally Brian will splurge. Look at what he did with both Smiths.
He’s also gotten Rasul and Mercilus mid season. While Brian generally goes after Defensive players, that in itself does not preclude him from switching gears for a specific need.

In this case it’s obvious that our Offense is a bigger issue. If there’s a mid season acquisition I’m about 70% sure it will be on Offense. It’s more about availability and cost. I think he’d easily deal a 4th rounder, depending maybe a Day 2 area but stars need to align

Let’s hope so. With Lazard potentially out now we really need all the help we can get. Tonight even the Bears are looking better than us. :-(

@captainWIMM okay let’s say it was - dude acted like a straight punk. I swear it’s getting old in the moments when he responds like that. I admit he’s matured a lot lately in responsibility and such, but it’s always days later, months or what not. In the moment, he is like LeBron….him his mind it is NEVER his fault.

I don't have any issue with Rodgers' reactions after a play went wrong and neither should a professional athletes being paid a good chunk of money.

This defense is doing all it can almost to make us viable...they struggled on stopping third down conversions....however they are getting about a 1 out of 10 help from their offense right now as well.

Well, the defense did everything well aside of creating turnovers when presented with the chance or get off the field on third down. Of course the offense is to blame for that.

The last play was a summary of this season. While it was a valiant attempt, what it really put on full display was total desperation and looked just pitiful.

Those plays hardly end up looking promising.

AR is 31st in the NFL in QBR, and he got outplayed by a backup.

Actually Rodgers is 26th in QBR but it doesn't make a whole lot of difference as it's a terrible metric to begin with. According to PFF he's the 10th highest ranked quarterback among the 32 with the most dropbacks.

As a side note, Heinicke had five turnover worthy plays yet the defense created only one turnover. He wasn't outplaying Rodgers but got lucky.

I would add to that, 2 rookies as well. It is no secret that Rodgers seems to require time to get on the same page as his receivers.

I don't consider that to be true as Doubs is still leading the team in targets despite struggling lately.

LOL no amount of money you could pay me would override such a reaction. I was a lineman and a TE in my younger days - I had a QB that at times would put a bad ball on me, he was the first to admit he put me in a bad position or stole yards from me, when I truly had a drop he was the first to let me have it....because of that I was willing to jump into a fire if I had to for him.
