I don't know what the scouting/coaching sees in MVS. It's year 3 and the chemistry between him and Rodgers has not improved. Besides run fast what else does he do well?

Even worse than all that, MVS is the Packers #2 WR.

Apparently some posters think that this is a very important job, "run until you are open MVS and oh BTW, catch the damn ball MVS!". He is becoming more disappointing for me than Janis. At least JJ was a end of the draft pick that until injuries hit, the Packers didn't have to rely on at WR and for what he couldn't do as a WR, he made up for with his special teams play.

MVS has had his problems this year. He isn't a complete receiver and likely won't ever be one. But he's also created vertical separation at times and had Rodgers just miss him. It hasn't been just 100% ineptitude on his part.

But while we're all having chuckles, it's funny to me that some people don't understand that it's actually really important for an offense to have a vertical stretch element. If the defense has nothing to respect down the field, they can condense and sit on everything underneath, gumming up the entire offense.

Apparently some posters realize how offense works.

What Jaire is doing to opponents #1 WRs is INSANE this year....INSANE.

Yeah, you can make a very strong case that he's the top corner in the league right now. His metrics are fantastic, and he's shadowing.

You ask me who is Green Bay's best player at their respective positions and he is mine. Yes he is playing better CB than Adams is WR and Rodgers is QB and Jones is RB.

In my opinion it is that good.

And at a position that you could argue is the most difficult in the league. The rules are literally designed to make him job harder.

I do think he has an important role in this offense. My only gripe is he doesn't seem like he'll ever be what I want him to be which is complete :) We're missing that guy that bridges the gap between what he does and what we need 1 more of. Lazard is that guy, but he's not available.

Man, if MVS could stick is foot in the ground and go back outside and actually catch the ball instead of drop it like yesterday, he's a threat everywhere and even more so as a deep one. But unless he can routinely make the middle catches he'll only ever be a speed guy. Get Lazard back and MVS is covered by different corners and the offense can take advantage at all levels. It is nice to see guys play off him to respect his speed and he still runs past them. you can't teach that.

Even I never pictured Jaire being this good. He’s incredible.
What almost always impresses me about Jaire is his tackling. He is actually good at it and not afraid. It could be good in the right situations to blitz him.

It also seems to me like him and Rodgers just don't have a great connection. The timing is off. Sometimes it's on him and sometimes it's on Rodgers. But if they can't get on the same page, it's obviously not Rodgers who needs to be replaced.

The Texans wide receivers, Cooks and Stills, both have the skill set to take MVS's role in the offense.

I’m not sure he was a stud, but Josh Jackson played his best game ever, imo.

His problem is both him and King need to play on the outside. Neither can play in the slot very well. Jaire can, but obviously you want him shadowing the top WR.

Jackson and Montravius both are making me pause on the "don't bring back for 2021" camp I had firmly set a tent in....

Chandon solves this as he's best in the slot. If Jackson can prove to be serviceable this season, it would make it easy to let King walk.

Jackson is an easy choice as he will still be on his rookie contract.

I could see bringing Adams back on a cheap, one year deal for the DL depth. He's been a decent rotation option this season, but I doubt he will have a big market. Keke is really coming on though.

He won't have a market. I already predicted he finds nothing and resigns with us. Probably a one year deal too.

Jaire is just such a stud and Kamal looks like a real nice surprise. Isn't crazy what a good ILB will do for a defense ;)

On the other hand, I was excited to see what Dillon could do with Jones being out, but I'm starting to wonder if the kid lacks vision. Could be why they haven't really put him into the rotation much. Still plenty of time to see if he improves.

My apologies. I forgot that we have pre-decided that all offensive issues this year are a result of the WR corps, regardless of what happens on the field. Sort of like how people don't die of anything but the 'rona anymore.

MVS is worthless. I can’t believe ppl still are in on this guy. I said it last season he hasn’t improved any. Stiff on his routes and has average hands at best. I’ll be so glad when we find his replacement at the #3 spot.

Was a Summers, supporter.....but the guy is a liability almost every time he’s out there.

Special team in GB has always been “special” idk what it is with that unit.

Did Pettine wake up? Or someone talk to him?

Or is the Def finally at the point now where this how they will play.. Ie no preseaon and players out of shape are now finally ready?
Or is MLF holding Pettine responsible. Maybe MLF is sitting in on defense meetings...

I would put Jamaal Williams in as a stud too. He didn't do anything eye popping but he played a mistake free game and proved not only do we not lose much when Jones is out, but he's also one of the best backup running backs in the NFL.
