Opinions are like A-holes, we all have one.
Or preseason games. The technology is there, they use the existing tracker to measure the speed of passes for stats. Foreword progress of a runner would be very easy to determine using the GPS tracker and a simple program. Can't tell you how many times a game I notice a casual poor spotting of the ball after a play. People don't seem to even notice it when it is only after a 1st or 2nd down play. The only time broadcasters bring it up is when it means a 1st down or a score. The tushpush has really highlighted the need. With all those bodies in there, super hard sometimes to see if the ball actually crossed the line to gain.Couldn't give you a like because I'm not sure about the GPS thing. Maybe try it out in colleges for a couple years first.
It has been said for as long as I can remember that "Football is a game of inches" and I agree. Now use the technology to make sure you have those inches correct.
