Our Christmas present is that there were no duds tonight, and nothing but stars, because they did their job, scoring 6 times and shutting down the only legitimate threat the Saints had with an INT by a rookie, of all people.

Le Fleur has repeatedly said he wanted his team to "finish games," and they haven't. They've let up in the second half. Tonight, that malaise disappeared. Now it's time to prepare for the playoffs.

Didn't have to be our best. But no real dud players.
Studs: Anderson played well with a pic. Reed, Kraft, Cooper, Eric Wilson playing the middle but that's where Cooper is headed, Mosby looked very quick from the edge, Wyatt, McManus. Shutout!
Dud: LaFleur for continuing to want Watson to do those end arounds. He is not built for it and the others can do it just as well. Damn! It just is not worth it!
Honorable mention dud: I get nervous every time Stokes is on his own for a one on one tackle.

Saints are terrible but it’s great to see a proper 60 minute performance that’s for sure. Props all around

I agree with this. Watson is absolutely the wrong guy to do what's practically a rushing play. Let him burn guys deep so that he never gets tackled and doesn't risk injuring himself.

Another thing to consider is while the Saints are not at full strength, they did nearly beat Washington last week. Holding them to 20 points in a 1 point game.

Stud now and hopefully growing even more studly into the future: Edgerrin Cooper, who just looks electric and deadly out there. That game - well, three quarters since it seems like they took him out for scrubs and other rookies - looked like he might be the real deal, like GB hasn't seen in a looong time.

A shutout!!
No duds.

Studs - Cooper, week in and week out it seems. As usual, my man crush on Jacobs continues to be a bit embarrassing and so, I'm letting it go at this.

Were the Saints injured? You bet they were. Does it matter? Not one bit. Last night ... they did what they were supposed to do. That is completely disassemble an opponent. It was something I was waiting for.

Now ... next goal in the Weeds Scale should be -- hows about the Pack win (note: not even convincingly) against against a team who is supposedly better than they are. I'm not saying "play with a team supposedly better than them" ... I'm saying WIN one.

...and that is a bigger deal to me at this stage. Moral victories ... or ... "They only lost to (insert any of the 3 teams who have out-coached us head to head) by 3...4...7...10 (... I don't care). It could have gone either way" aren't worth a bucket of warm spit.

Your 2nd point sounds a bit sarcastic. He can catch it over the middle. He can take a hit. But sidestepping like crazy while 4 or 5 guys are running over to tackle him on the sidelines is not what he should be doing imho. He just is not built for it. Yeah, LaFleur wants a TD. It's just not worth the risk. I'd like to see Nixon do it. Could make for a good fake.

The word hapless comes to mind. They were devoid of hap.

The second half offense actually wasn’t very good, if you want to pick nits.

Studs- many usual suspects on this list
Tom- week in week out he's a brick wall on the right side.
Kraft- MLF are you listening? Kraft needs more passes thrown his way. Good things happen when he gets the ball.
Cooper- He was out of position several times but makes up for it in spades with his ability to close on the football like a rocket.
Wyatt- A sack and TFL is a pretty good night.
Reed- Both of his explosive plays were contested catches.
Clark- I thought he had his best game against the run.
Duds-
Wicks- 7 targets for 13 yards. 2 were short yardage but that kind of production should translate into fewer targets.
LVN- Not much to show. He's a one trick pony and it doesn't fool many people.

Studs: The Entire Team, Coaching Staff and Organization.

Extra Stud: The defense, for not allowing a backup QB, with a makeshift lineup, to make you look terrible and putting an exclamation point on it, by delivering the NFL's first shutout of the season!

Love's passer rating was 88.7 last night. Not bad, but it breaks a streak of five straight games with a passer rating over 100.
In fact, Willis finished with a better rating than he did (95.8). Small body of work though.

Total Stud to Hafley.

When I watch the highlights I noticed something peculiar that was incredible on film. Have you ever witnessed a school of fish? When the leading fish change direction the entire school sways behind it like it’s mirroring it. Our Defense on film moves looks like a School of Fish following that Saints Offense. They literally swayed. Playing in Unison with a determined and disciplined feel.
I’ve not seen that from a Packer D in a long time. It just jumped off the film. They played as a Team

If that D can band together with that same focus they have a chance beating anyone anywhere. KC Detroit Eagles Vikes you name it. We all watch a lot of football but that right there was a symphony performance. It was one of those Songs played live that you hear and just know you witnesses something rare. Luckily it’s rare for all 32 teams also. IMO Carr with Kamara added in doesn’t score 15 points imo and I’m being generous
