This is all very good info, thank you

I’m getting bored and I’m just wondering how much longer Rodgers will keep us in the dark?:coffee:

Also. Do they serve coffee in these places? I’m more concerned that they might mistake me for wanting mine black.
I see what ya did

I'm sorry, is this about Mahomes 3 years ago or is it about AR? He was only able to follow that up with a 2nd SB win and second SB MVP. This is a AR thread also.

Rodgers performance needs to be compared to other quarterbacks to evaluate it. In my opinion it's ridiculous to criticize him for his performance against the Bucs considering the best QB in the league in Mahomes did much worse against the same defense only two weeks later.

Also, why are you only posting part of what I say? Are you only arguing with some of what I say, or only part of what I said? You've been doing this with almost everything I've posted in this thread. I hate to try and isolate you, this is just confusing as you're only posting part of what I say.

You talked about two completely different topics in the post I quoted. As I have mentioned several times I agree it might be best for the team to move on. Therefore I don't see any reason to quote that part of your post as well.

Well can you elaborate as to why just for conversation sake? Lol!

Rex Ryan hasn't been able to field a defense which finished better than 15th in points allowed in any of his last six seasons as a head coach. Hard pass on him as well.

Jordan Whitehead (the other starting Safety) left the game in the third quarter. Rodgers faced 2 backup safties most of the second half.

Rodgers actually played well in that second half, completing 19 of 29 passes for 177 yards and two touchdowns for a rating of 105.1. Unfortunately they weren't able to score a TD in three attempts for the 8-yard line but there's no truth to him having struggled.

He didn’t get the job done when it counted (three years in a row). You’re free to be impressed by first half stats. 4th quarter against the Bucs, 9ers and Lions COMBINED 10 of 23 83 yards one pick no TDs. As I recall that was a quarterback rating of 53.

You truly sound like a broken record.

No one is suggesting Rodgers has put up impressive numbers in the fourth quarter of the last three season ending losses. While he's partly responsible for it there were other factors contributing to it as well.

Once again, I recommend you watch the interception vs. the Lions again. Take a close look at Dillon. If you still blame Rodgers after doing that it's obvious you don't care about what's actually happening on the field.

Games over. The results are in. I’m sure you could relook at every single incompletion in those 3 failed 4th quarters and find a way to not put any responsability on the QB. After all Lombardi pointed out that if properly executed every play should result in a touchdown. His body of work in the fourth quarters of 3 consecutive season ending losses - 10 of 23 for 83 one pick zero touch downs. I thinks that’s poor. Apparently you think that’s good or at least ok. Whatever. Three consecutive home losses. Remember when what we really needed was to “get these games at Lambeau”? What we really neec is for players to play better and that starts with #12.

You make some valid points especially about recency but when you make stuff up about the TB secondary you also lose some credibility.

So Rodgers is about to begin his retreat. Now I read after that he's going on vacation. So we're going to be well in to March and still playing the game. Say it's four or five days away from the tampering period period ,free agency and the new league year beginning. If it was me, I start making calls for the jets, raiders and whoever else to tell them here's what I want, what are you offering. I'd make the best trade without even contacting A-Rod. Then I would contact him to tell him he's been traded, that we have been more than patient but we have to do what's best for the team and we are quite frankly fed up with your crap. He'll be on McAfee and play the beautiful mystery game garbage. He loves this stuff he feeds on it and thrives on it. He's going to drag it out as long as possible.
You won't accept the trade? Then you can stand on the sideline and watch Love play. You want to retire? Go ahead. We're going to take a hit no matter what, but we're going to deal with it and move ahead with Jordan Love.
Accept the trade? Great. We'll work out the conditions and any conditional parts if you play again in 2024. When you do retire, give us a call and when we can set a date to retire your number and have a big ceremony to put you in the Packer Hall of Fame.
But enough is enough. Time to bite the bullet and move on.

As I pointed out in my last post in this thread, I don't consider those numbers to be good by any means. But, you need to take a look at those plays to figure out who's the one to blame for it. As I have asked you repeatedly it would be smart to take a look at the one pick Rodgers threw in those situations. He's definitely not the one to blame for it. It's obvious that you're not interested in that as it doesn't fit your narrative about the quarterback though.

Once again, Rodgers definitely deserves part of the blame for those losses but he's not the only one either.

As a side note, while Lombardi never said anything like what you're trying to suggest, do you understand it takes all 11 players on the field to execute a play properly for it to be successful or do you honestly believe the QB is the only one responsible for it?

Why is it so difficult for some of you to understand that the Packers have definitely already talked to other teams about possible compensation if they're actually interested in trading Rodgers? They don't need to wait for his decision to have discussions with possible suitors.

They won't be able to finalize a trade without Rodgers agreeing to play for the team acquiring him though. In addition it's absolutely ridiculous to suggest there's any chance the Packers will keep Rodgers as their backup while paying him $60 million.

Nobody ever said Rodgers was solely responsible. He did not do his part in 3 consecutive “playoff” 4th quarters - going a combined 10 of 23 for 83 yards one interception ZERO TDs QBR of 53(?) for 3 crunch time 4th quarters. You KNOW that Vince Lombardi never said that? Really…. Interesting that you are aware of every single one of Vince Lombardi’s utterances. I heard/saw him say it on a film drawing up a play on a chalkboard but perhaps it was dubbed in. I’m waiting to hear how you know that. You followed him around 24x7 during his tenure as a football coach? Rodgers also held the ball and took a couple BIG sacks in the fourth quarter of the Bucs loss.

Well, if Lombardi ever said something like that it should be easy for you to post a link to it. I'm waiting.

But even if he did, it takes all 11 players on the field to properly execute a play for it to be successful, not only the quarterback.

I got curious about this quote from Lombardi, so I tried to find it. It does sound like something he might say. I found several really good quotes that got me amped for the day! However, I was unable to find him saying anything like that. The closest I could find was that football is a game of inches. In the same respect, I read about 150 of his quotes and they were more about commitment, sacrifice, discipline, teamwork... So, I struck out finding it. It might just be a quote that is hard to find due to him having so many better ones. Best of luck in your searches.

Rodgers once said he loved the pepper signing because his locker room presence was needed

anyone find that?

I can't find that either. I can find a lot of love between the two, but nothing about his locker room presence. Struck out again!

Lombardi actually said that the perfect play is one that is executed successfully 100% of the time. He wasn't talking about scoring on every one of them though. In addition he was referring to a go-to play (Packers sweep) and not every single play either.

Look, when you make a claim like that the burden of proof is on you. But actually it doesn't matter.

The point I was trying to make is that all 11 players on the field need to execute a play for it to be successful. Rodgers' interception against the Lions is a perfect example of how one player (Dillon) messing up can result in a turnover. Of course you continue to ignore that as it doesn't fit your narrative.

Cuz he said it to me 2014 Uber ride

not everything can be found on line
That's pretty cool you got to meet him. That would have been fun.
Man the **** people are arguing about these days on this site is laughable. Slow off-season mode.
I'm not arguing anything. Was just trying to have fun with it all.

That I did read. "There's nothing spectacular about it. It's just a yard-gainer. But on the sideline, when the sweep starts to develop, you can hear those linebackers and defensive backs yelling, 'Sweep!' 'Sweep!' and almost see their eyes pop as those guards turn upfield after them. It's my No. 1 play because it requires all 11 men to play as one to make it succeed, and that's what team means." - Vince Lombardi

Dude was a leader and once in a generation guy. Glad he was a Packer.

Actually anybody who makes a claim that somebody never said something is an idiot because that burden can never possibly be met. My burden of proof is met => Your guy - in crunch time 3 separate 4th quarters - 10 of 23 for 83 yards one interception ZERO touchdowns 53 Rating.

First, I think you need to calm down. I don't think name calling is necessary. This isn't that big of a deal.

I also do not agree with this thought process. If someone is quoting someone else it is perfectly acceptable to ask for that source. For example, if you quote someone in a paper it is not the reader's responsibility to research the quote. Sure, one might do that in an effort to fact check it, but they don't need to. It is the writers responsibility to cite their quotes. I never had an instructor assign me a paper and said to use quotes and they will look them up later. Just saying.

I just jumped in to try to ease the tension.

Neat standard! By your reckoning, a terrible QB with a great defense would be in crunch time all the time (because the score would be really close) and could become an AMAZING QB by throwing 1 TD in "crunch" time because you would ignore the 2 interceptions and awful yardage in all the other parts of the game. That right there is sound judgement! It also supports the other part of your contention, only the QB matters! A defense that keeps the game outta reach so the QB isn't always on the hook to pull the game out of the fire? Who cares! That's way too much to think about and we all prefer to analyze QBs as if they were out there playing golf.

Never said “only the QB matters” - EVER. But certainly the QB DOES matter. Rodgers isn’t being judged as a “terrible QB”, he isn’t being PAID as a “terrible QB”. He’s being judged and paid against a standard as one of the greatest of all time. I’m merely pointing out that when it matters most he has not lived up to that standard. 10 of 23 83 yards one interception zero touchdowns for 3 fourth quarters in 3 different must win games. Yes it’s repetitive but that’s because my message is simple and irrefutable by the facts. If 10 of 23 for 83 yards one interception ZERO touchdowns …53 QB rating…is what you consider effective QB play you’re entitled to your standard. I’m just pointing out what his performance has been the last 3 years when we needed him to step up.

A) I’m a Packer fan not a Rodgers fan. B) when we start footnoting everything put forth here I’ll take on the responsability to meet academic standards LOL. I’m pointing out that the claim HE makes cannot POSSIBLY be backed up. Proving the negative is impossible. Getting hung up on it is a distraction from what is irrefutable 10 of 23 for 83 yards one interceptions in the fourth quarter of Green Bay’s last 3 season ending losses. “Yeah but yeah but yeah but”. 10 of 23 for 83 one pick ZERO Touchdowns. Not one bad fourth quarter, not two - three.
