I understand. But at the same time I don't want to make myself look as if I'm...what's the word...so full of myself that I can't acknowledge when I screw up or anything like that, even if I'm not fully aware. I'm here for the long haul, and I definitely don't want people to get a bad impression of me is all. I'm still one of the new cats here.

I will let you know where to send your monthly bag of cash to be assured that won't happen. :D

yes, another reason to temper some enthusiasm, there is no ink on any contracts yet. Players could still go elsewhere and there's nothing we could do but get mad.

This wasn't trading a first round pick and an equivalent salary for Mack, it was at least 2 first round picks and $141M being committed to 1 player.
This is kinda what we talked about. Spread these resources over several players rather than putting all our eggs in one basket. Plus, we still have the draft to inject more talent into the equation. The Bears have to rely on their current roster more and will need to be a a bit behind in the draft for a couple years.

I enjoy everyone in here. We may not all agree, we may have our dust ups, we may think someone else is a bigger idiot then ourselves, but at the end of the day, we are all just people and most importantly, fans of The Green Bay Packers.

Was simply stating an observation of mine an was in no way meant as distasteful ridicule of @brandon2348 . I'll have you know that often I see myself agreeing with his hot takes, but considered myself too much of a rookie football fan and forum member to speak up. Will make sure to do so in the future, about time someone starts busting my own balls.

cool thing i heard a while ago that was that the two smiths they've presumably added today had 100 pressures last year between them which is more than the 90+- that the whole Packers D had last year. lol

I have to admit that I am not familiar with these players but like what I am reading about them. They have already cut Perry and there is speculation that they will also cut Matthews.

Matthews is just a shadow of what he used to be and Perry can't stay healthy.

On paper it seems as it the defense has a big chance to improve.

Matthews doesn't have to be "cut", his contract is done, he is a Free Agent to sign wherever he is wanted. With the 2 Smith's being signed, I don't see the Packers resigning Clay.

Looks like Gutenkunst read this thread yesterday and it spurred him into action.

Ted wouldn't have even roused himself from his long winter slumber by this point.

Nahhh....Brandon stole Gute's phone and impersonated him on the phone all morning. Easier than delivering a pizza to your out of town neighbors!

"How much does your client want?.....ok.....book it!"

I realized today, I know nothing about how the salary cap works. I’m seeing we’re paying out 20 million to Za’Darius Smith, 16 million to preston Smith, 11 million to Adrian Amos and 9 million to Billy turner tomorrow. In the same breath, Preston Smith and Adrian are both only ~5 against this years cap and Turner is ~3.9 against this years cap. It’s all so confusing and math is certainly not my thing. All I can do is thank Russ Ball, Gute and whoever else was involved for improving the team!

There will be plenty of folks in here that will accommodate your wish.

Yup and I just read that the Packers are cutting Aaron Rodgers on 4/1 :whistling:
yeah. Might have to, to pay for all these new guys. They do know they pay for their own groceries right?

reneging on these verbal agreements has already started so let's don't count these chickens before they're hatched.
I still had sweaty palms all day today since none of the signings have been confirmed so far on the Packers website. However I think we can consider them done, at least for Amos and Preston Smith as both have changed their social media acc information to being a Packers player. Amos has edited this on both his twitter and instagram, and Preston on his instagram only. Billy Turner has not changed any info on his instagram yet reposted a story in which he got congratulated for being a Packer now.

For Za'darius I can find an account on twitter which is titled as 'official' and while it also shows a banner by the Packers, he hasn't even used this account (0 tweets) and therefore I remain a little more skeptical about this one.

LOL...I did the same thing. I was impressed by all the Washington fans thanking and saying goodbye to Preston. Kind of showed me that he was well liked, so that is a good sign. Also, don't mind seeing that Z Smith doesn't have social media accounts. Lately, some of these players are using them in a negative way, IMO. I even noticed Rodgers has backed off using his.

Loved this Tweet to Amos from one of his former Bear Teammates!

One of the smartest dudes I’ve ever played with. Definitely a coach on the field.

Did you not get the memo, social media is a toxic and addictive distraction for us mere mortals. I can only imagine it being worse for rich 'celebrities' who will get privately messaged by fans and, for the lack of a better term, groupies alike. Therefore I agree that Za'darius not having an online presence is a plus; seems to me that he is focussed on being a great NFL player and not on all the added benefits that come with being one.

I came to the same conclusion, we seem to have signed some great human beings first and foremost. Especially Amos. From the little I have seen he seems dedicated, humble and overall just a high-character guy
