I doubt we catch Detroit. Got to get the number five or six seed to avoid playing either the eagles or lions in the first round

Agree, a win against Seattle in a few weeks will fit perfect in place of the 9ers in your post. Just need to beat other NFC teams that are trying to make the NFC playoffs. Past playoff losses mean nothing when it comes to this 2025 season.

Exactly. A Win against Seattle would be nice. It would give us Tie breakers over every NFC West team. Mainly Seattle and Arizona because they’d be at minimum 3 games behind us (currently both 6 wins) and they’d have to pass our current 8 Wins.

The one outlier is if we lose to Seattle, it would give them a solid chance to win that Division and remove them from our Wildcard path altogether. Hence putting Arizona in our path. Thats ideal because we already own that tie breaker.

Things are shaping up nice for a playoff birth. The next step is beating a hot Miami Offense. I think beating Miami isn’t critical, but it would be a statement game. We’d be 9-3 and rising and dangerous to anyone in our path including Detroit. Going 10-3 with an upset in Detroit would 95% put us in postseason and put the NFL on notice. We’re 2 Wins from dangerous and fighting for Division Winner and a #1 or #2 seed.

They’ll be no hosting on Wildcard Weekend though because
2nd hosts 7th
3rd hosts 6th
4th hosts 5th

I’d be totally ok going to 4th seed Arizona or Atlanta. Thats our best path don’t you think?

Yeah mistyped as I always forget the expanded playoffs did away with that, been a while too lol

Division is gone for us barring a collapse. Detroit needs to lose 3 games and we win out to win the division. (And that is with Detroit losing to MN/GB. If Det loses those 2 and we win out, playoff machine still has DET with the division)

I guess the 5 seed puts you in a spot to maybe avoid going to Detroit until the NFCCG hoping that the 6 or 7 seed has an upset.
Overall.. make it 1st then worry about the uncontrollable matchup stuff.

I like your idea of hosting though. That starts with a Win on Thanksgiving God willing. If we have a glimmer of a chance we would need to repeat our Win in Detroit last year. Obviously we can only concern ourselves with who’s in our path next.
