Stud: The Ripper! Can he be a 10ish carry guy and catch a pass or two out of the backfield? That would be nice.

Dud: Ron Zook. A nice return by Davis but, those Special Teams penalties are killers!

I've loved watching him play since college and I probably say it too much lol. All he did in college was catch the ball and truck people. I honestly think he could be our Mike Alstott if we find more ways to get him the ball.

We may have to, because neither Jackson or Davis looked like they could unseat Starks and that isn't saying much.

Funny thing about that last Atlanta drive, I was saying to myself, "do we let them score so Rodgers has enough time to get us into field goal range. I know, you never want to give up a free TD and we had our chances to stop them, but it sure felt like they were just going to be able to march right down and punch the ball into the endzone and leave our offense very little time.

Again, I wouldn't have let Atlanta score, but I might have used those 2 timeouts differently in anticipation of them scoring.

There's absolutely no reason to let the Falcons score on that drive. If Gunter catches that ball the Packers win it right there.

Everyone needs to relax. We had 10 starters out for this game and still could have won. We can definitely go on a run and get healthy.

Like I said, you don't let them score, but there was a part of me that was hoping they would (faster), knowing with more then the few seconds Rodgers ended up having at the end, it might have allowed us more time to drive down and kick a game winning FG.

Not quite 10.....but lots of week one starters and key back-ups for sure. While we can hope to get some of these guys back healthy, that doesn't mean we won't have other guys get injured along the way. Our D and O lines have been relatively healthy all year, so fingers crossed there and of course....#12.

Actually the Packers didn't run out of time but downs though.

Speaking of the offensive line the Packers announced after yesterday's game that Tretter has suffered a knee injury. No information about the severity.

They did run out of downs, but I think that whole last offensive series is approached differently with more time on the clock. Bottom line though, they didn't stop them on defense, nor did they get into FG range on offense with the little time they did have.

Again, I wasn't promoting the idea that the Packers should have let them score, just saying a part of me was hoping if it was going to happen, it happen quick enough to leave more time. I'm sure the Falcons were a bit disappointed that they even left any time on the clock and had they lost the game, people would have been screaming that they scored too quickly.

Shields, Randall, Rollins, Lacy, Cobb, Cook, Montgomery, Matthews, all starters. Plus Starks. Reminds me of Super Bowl year with all these players on IR and we still won it all. I think wins the next 2 weeks and we are rolling.

Rollins, Monty and Starks weren't week one starters, but again, splitting hairs. We have a lot of key players injured.

I don't know how he did the rest of the game, but I want to Give K. Brice a "stud" just for his stop of ward at the 1. When was the last time we saw a DB stone a running back with a head of steam, dead in his tracks? That was a stud play if there ever was one.

I think Brice might actually be better suited as a SS with the way he hits. I know we need CBs more though.

Those are plays you must make if you're going to win the big games. That had TD for Gunter written all over it. He's a hero, we win by double digits, and we're 5-2. We have to make those plays. Instead, he didn't and we know the rest.

It seems like our DBs have dropped an unusually large number of possible INTs this year. In real time I was certain that Gunter should have had that one. On the replay it looked more like a 50/50 ball. Missed opportunity.

Packers are at -2 (tied for 19th in NFL) in turnover differential. That is definitely going to have to improve during the second half of the season if we want to win the close games and beat the better teams. Guessing the Vikings league leading +11 has had some impact on their record. While interceptions are nice, the Packers 6 lost fumbles (4th in NFL) isn't a good thing either.

Agreed. Immediately after my disappointment of that last ATL TD, I glanced at the clock and thought to myself that though there just might be enough time for Rodgers and Co, I wish they would have scored a little quicker...

Am I the only person that walked away from that game thinking the Packers looked better than they have in the past 1.5 seasons?

I wish that they would not have been playing for the field goal and took a rodgers hail mary shot down field, but for the first game in a while I thought the offense looked real good. Defense was playing a man down the whole game though, right?

Studs: Aaron Rodgers, Oline, Young Receivers, Rip, Gunter
Duds: Defense minus Gunter

the Falcons were in full control of the clock and really weren't in any danger of running out of time on their last possession. In that situation, I prefer using timeouts on Defense to maximize the amount of clock saved. For whatever reason yesterday, MM didn't see it that way.

While I would say the offense was on par in the first half with how they looked in the first half of the Lions game this year, they sputtered a bit too much in the second half of this game too. I wasn't happy with the way our defense played yesterday, even taking into account the injuries.

But yes, our offense seemed to be clicking more then they have in awhile, despite injuries.

Can someone explain: Did the referee charge a timeout against the Packers when Jordy got dinged on that last drive incompletion?

If so, why? The clock was stopped due to the incompletion, so a "fake" injury doesn't apply...

If not, then why was a timeout called on a stopped clock?
