And we also didn't give up 48 points last game, unlike Carolina did today. Gotta say though, Minny's win is looking much less impressive down there now after this.
Seriously? The Panthers have averaged 31.4 points per game the last 16 games in a row and the Vikings holding them to 10 isn't impressive?

I'm not willing to count last years stats, but the Panthers have averaged 27.25 points per game this year. That includes the 10 points they scored against the Vikings. In the 3 games played not including the Viking game... They have averaged 33 points per game... so that's basically saying I agree with Raptorman's point. lol

My number include the Vikings 10 last week and Denvers 10 in the Super Bowl. Take those out and it goes to over 34 points a game.

Yeah basically what we are saying is that the Panther's offense has been, and is still very potent. I will point out that this years defense is surrendering an average of 29.5 points per game. Bottom line, They are still very unpredictable.... good offense.... but they are allowing their opponents to score. The defensive stats are a bit off btw.... I didn't watch any of these games, but I believe some of the opponent's points came off of defensive or special teams scores, so....

Yeah the only possible spin is the Vikings offense struggling against the Panthers isnt impressive. But who cares if your defense is going to give up 10 points but score 8

So have some of the Panthers points. Granted, the Vikings didn't score a ton of points against the Panthers. But then they didn't have to. That will be the Vikings test. When they have to score 33 points to win. It's coming. We shall see if they are up to the task.

So far today my bet on Atlanta running away with the division is looking good, the Panthers are getting their butts handed to them. Isn't just Cam playing bad either, Matt Ryan is picking that D apart piece by piece.

Been saying it since week 1, something is off with Carolina. Cam looks horrific, the D is getting torched, and the coaching has regressed......this is NOT playoff team right now, and I honestly don't see it getting any better.

IMO Falcons run away with that division this year.

We'll find out after MNF....

The Eagles in the NFCCG?.....come on now. They'll be coming back to earth very soon.

I'm not expecting the Eagles to make it to the NFCCG but think they have a better chance than the Giants.

Going into the season, I had a list of 8 teams in no particular order, and your 2 Super Bowl participants would come out of that list.
NFC- Packers, Panthers, Seahawks, Cardinals.
AFC- Patriots, Steelers , Broncos, Bengals

Around the 1/4 mark of the season, you start to get a clearer picture, but it's way too early to jump on or off anyone's bandwagon.

The Panthers and Cardinals seem to be in trouble though.

It's all about the defense; so far, I'm very concerned.

There have been several teams winning the Super Bowl lately with a below average scoring defense in the regular season. It's important to create turnovers though.

The Panthers have allowed a total of 15 points on defensive and special teams scores. That doesn't change the fact that their defense has struggled mightily.

I was looking at it more from the perspective that overall, Carolina is 1-3 right now and after seeing them get completely lit up yesterday, and I mean completely outmatched in every phase of the game, leads me to believe Carolina may be headed for a pretty bad season, probably not making the playoffs the way it's looking.

Nobody can argue with Minny's record, their defense is legit, never said it wasn't. But I think we need to see more though, and Carolina may not be the toughest test they face. Although from what I've seen of the other previous division winner AZ, they're looking bad too so who knows, the Vikes could very well have a little easier of a schedule outside the NFC East opponents and AFC South. But, you play the games for a reason.

I'm a bit nervous about our game down there in later on this season now, Matt Ryan's been on a tear and he's got a lot of weapons to spread it around to, and with Randall's struggles, I shudder to think of him matched up against Julio Jones.

Hopefully Shields will be fully healthy by then.

Julio absolutely killed us in the 2014 game too.

Good point hahah. We need that offense back though, we posted 40 something that game I believe. ATL will be a tough game.

It was pretty similar to the Lions game this season as the Packers stormed out to a 31-7 halftime lead but barely held on to win 43-37.

Yeah it did feel similar. Hopefully we can fix that, it's not a good trend of ours.

Here is how one reporter takes us from where we are today and gets us to 13-3 at the end of the regular season.

Still a long season ahead and so far injuries have been relatively in our favor. Tough task to go 11-2 in the next 13 games, but its a pretty favorable schedule and as long as the secondary gets better and the team stays relatively healthy, its doable IMO.

HEALTH. There's the whole thing right there.
Add execution and getting the takeaways into the plus column. Our defense has had some opportunities for interceptions this year and dropped them. The Viking have been a great example of just what turnovers do for you in the W-L column.

Hell, if Sam Shields catches one of his three dropped picks in the Arizona game last year, we would have been in the NFC championship game. This team really does drop way too many interceptions.
