Without even looking, I imagine the "shoutbox group" after the first quarter....

considering how it was 6 plays into the first preseason game, tonight was rather rational I thought LOL. I don't know if I should blame Trump or Obama?

Mondio. I’m lit. You totally lost me bud, and my brain hurts.

Kidding. Nothing hurts. Holy F Balls. That was COOL!

Did you guys see Rogers giving Pettine that shove, and his due props?!!! That was COOL too!

As boring as a "defensive battle" is, I will take that road win against what I think is one of the top defenses in the NFL.

Tramon Williams said “we knew if we could get Mitchell Trubisky to play quarterback we could win.”

I still dislike Trevanthan immensely. He is the one that cheap shotted Davante.

Same with Thomas Davis and Richard Sherman. I may be forgetting one other one too but the amount of cheap shots he received in 2 years was making me wonder if there was a bounty on him.

Boring? I enjoy watching good defenses.
Agreed, but before this game, I would say that the Packer defense is not one that will keep you in a game. Let's hope they have turned a corner, against a less than average Bear offense.

I normally avoid the shoutbox but I did check in tonight. It wasn't as bad as I've seen it in the past but I was reminded of why I don't normally participate.

Mondio had one great comment toward the end that I wanted to remember it but I can't find it now.

Oh sure, the one time I say something useful and you can’t remember. If it makes you feel any better, I have no idea what I might have said either

Was it "get you heads out of your ***, our defense is playing well"?

Guys. Let’s just marinate in this for a second.. This really had to hurt if you’re a Bears fan.

I know it’s just one game. But you’re the defending division champion hosting the one team that’s been a thorn in your side and you’ve got home field. While still early, this game sets the tone and the Packer D outplayed the #1 reigning D Champion from 2018.

Now I understand the Offenses were sloppy, we all expected that. A lower scoring game etc..
But guys and gals...they were booing their own Offense going into halftime! It was like music to my ears.

That was SO Fing cool. Great to see. Commendable job by Pettine and his players. Also, nice STs work tonight, especially JK Scott.

WOW!

I haven’t seen a Punter like that since Ray Guy.

OldSchool, Music to my ears too. Fantastic.

Have to admit, after the first quarter, I was shaking my head, but MLF stood by the offense and trusted the defense and got the job done.

I'm one of those weird people that would way rather watch a defensive battle than a shootout.

I thought tonight's game was a blast. That Bears front 4 is nasty, Roquan is a beast. Freaking good defense.

But we played better, and we won. Awesome win against a good team!

JK: 5/9 punts inside the 20; 47.6 average. (We also saw 1 roll a yard shy to the 21 yard line)

The Smith n Smith combo: 8 tackles; 6 QB hits; 2.5 sacks, 2 Tackles for loss, 1 PD. Talk about an increase in production.

Amos: 5 tackles; 1 INT: 1 PD; 1 smart kid that stayed humble and talked about this just being 1 game and already focusing on next week. He’s gotta be excited to be on this team right now. This was a good move for him and us. So glad we got rid of HaHa.

Rusty offense against a very good Bears defense prevails!

Cautiously optimistic that the Packer defense has improved. Lets face it, besides Robinson, the Bears offense is far from good.

Cautiously?!

The Bears averaged 26 ppg last year. Are they great? No. Good? Depends on Trubisky, he's streaky.

Our defense played awesome, and I think it's easy to see that they're good.

Give yourself a little credit I've been around for a few years now and I know you have said at least 4 useful things. Well, maybe not useful but certainly worth remembering. Unfortunately, like your shoutbox comment tonight, I can't remember what they were either.

No, that wasn't it. It was later in the game like the last 5 or 6 minutes or so. I tried to go back through the chat when I got home but it only went back about 45 minutes. I gotta believe I just missed it. I will say this, it ALMOST made me comment

Will the defense hold teams to three points every game? No, but there's absolutely no question that the defense has improved. Exactly how much, we'll find out. But this is far and away a better unit than 2018.

And based on some of their postgame comments, they're sort of playing with a chip on their shoulder.

Thanks, I thought there was something like that. I never looked at it before but I will look for it this time. Gotta get Mondio his props.

I don't know what to take from this game. But I love the W, it wasn't the easiest or prettiest W. But a W indeed.

Rodgers looked off, but lack of real time reps and a Bears defense will do that.

I don't know if it was a mix of Mitch being Mitch or the new improved defense...but man it's been a while since it's been fun to watch the Packers when Rodgers doesn't have the ball. Even though for majority of the game, I was on the edge of my seat not sure what was going on. As the game kept going on, I got more and more relaxed and excited for the things to come.

I loved seeing Rodgers celebrating with MLF and Pettine at the end...they're getting Rodgers believing in this defense...that is a huge relief from his shoulders. I am still cautiously optimistic but it is growing for sure.
