Wait a second that does not equate with me. Are you saying the Jets hired a Coach that we didn’t? Wasn’t he our OC first? So now it’s the Packers fault he left for a HC job in Denver? I suppose it’s also the Packers FO that made him crash and burn in Denver? Because had he been playoff bound in Denver, there’s 0% chance he’d be in NY right now.

A couple?? Are you talking about Cobb and Lazard? Rodgers Receivers the last several seasons? Which couple? Hardman? He was a direct result of internal problems with Elijah Moore and even a direct and simultaneous swap. That was not by Rodgers request it had been in the works before he was even in house and those problems were well documented prior to Aaron becoming a Jet.

Wait.. Matt didn’t listen to Rodgers? Really?? Are you sure about this because that’s the exact opposite of what I’ve witnessed.

You have failed to name even 1 thing that the Packers didn’t do that the Jets did.

That I 100% agree with. Had the Jets and Woody not petted Aaron like a new, rare Full-bred puppy he might have never come to NY. That’s called courting him and all teams do that to an extent to bring high profile players of varying degrees. Can you imagine NY telling a disgruntled Rodgers he’d have zero say in any personnel matters? All teams do that including the Packers. How do you think we acquired Cobb several years ago? That had Rodgers approval stamped all over it.

Where are you getting these insinuations it does not jive at all with the facts of Rodgers very last fully guaranteed contract.

From ESPN (regarding 2022-2023)
“The reigning two-time league MVP will make $41.95 million this season, which is fully guaranteed in the form of a $40.8 million roster bonus (which will be treated as a signing bonus for salary-cap purposes) and a base salary of $1.15 million. His 2023 pay of $59.465 million also is guaranteed”

That would be like us refusing his offering to play in 2024 for around $10-15mil (Factoring slight time value as a current $37.5mil per now is like a $33mil per year just a couple years ago)
I highly doubt the Packers would’ve refuse that offer.
Good job stepping through all that. Wouldn't have imagined even the most devout fan not having some recognition of the whole picture, but there you go.

You did miss this one though . . .
management was open to discussing anything he wanted to talk about.
How would you know? Rodgers refused to take Gutes calls (which Rodgers had lied about) or return them.

I just have one question to ask. Who is Rodgers, and why should we care?

To be honest, we need to get past this, and forget all the drama that surrounded him/it. Nobody gives a big rat's *** what the guy does, except Jets fans.
Well I care that he is in for 65% of the snaps and hoping the Jets finish with the worst record in the NFL. :)

To be clear, he was using slights on real people to to achieve his narrative. The entirety of what he was saying is that the Packers organization as a whole (he clearly spoke of his perceived failures of our GM and HC here) failed us. Now maybe you’re correct that he’s just sore about #12 and that could’ve been the fuel for his rant and I’m not here to imply I know his motives nor do I care to know.

With that in mind. Matt LaFleur and Brian Gutenkunst aren’t perfect and they’ve both made mistakes like myself or anyone else. However they don’t deserve those types of false allegations unless they are supported by clear evidence. I’d defend you or anyone else similarly if someone went on a wandering rant that stepped all over your character as some spring board to complain.
I was only calling him out so he’s recognized as someone that will be challenged if he continually punches below the belt. Otherwise people begin to believe that junk that @realitybytez is spewing.

Now I digress and agree. Jordan Love is our QB now. He can go make up complaints about the Packers on a Jets forum those guys would probably welcome it.

I guess I've moved on from Rodgers. He is no longer with the Packers, and quite honestly, not worth my time. He made a decision, and in all honesty, I don't give a rip. The constant drama surrounding every word he says, and everything that some else says, bringing up his name in the media is pure BS. We need to let it go, and move on.

He shouldn't be sucking up our oxygen.

I agree, he has moved out of the neighborhood. I do have his forwarding address though, in case I draft him in fantasy football as my QB2.

I'd still like Rodgers to do well and I expect him to. A Packers Jets SB would be awesome! Packers win of course but for me if the Packers dont win it, which I doubt they will. I want the Jets to win it

However dont get me wrong I agree arguing over this dumb sht is a moot point at this juncture. Dude plays for the Jets and we have number 3 ready to roll gpg

I'm fine with the Jets being in the 2024 SB, but this season, 2-15 would be sweeeeet!

I fear if the Jets are 1-8 or in that area they will bench AR8 to save the draft pick. 5-6/4-7 and going 0-6 rest of the way is about the best we can hope for as far as the draft pick is concerned. Jets need to feel they are still in it weeks 12/13 to get Rodgers into the 65% snap count area.

Unfortunately, if the Jets were on track to have the worst record in the NFL, the front office would have Rodgers benched before he reached the 65% threshold...Perhaps an alternative scenario is that Rodgers plays all season, and the Jets just barely miss the playoffs in week 18. Meanwhile, Green Bay wins the NFC North.

That might be a bit of a stretch I grant you, but one can dream.

Absolutely would love to see them start hot and then go on a losing streak...the average plays per game is roughly 60 for a team in NFL last season (highest was near 69 and low was 57).

Using 60 a game... x17 games that is roughly 1,020 snaps. So roughly speaking Rodgers could in likelihood hit 65% mark around the 11th game. With a bye week 7, that's week 12 or so.

Would love to see them at like 6-5 or so at that point. Too close for them to sit especially with games against Giants, Raiders, Texans and Falcons still left on their schedule you gotta think they'd feel they could win.

My prediction of their year if they stay healthy is:

Bills -
@Cowboys -
Patriots -
Chiefs -
@ Broncos -
Eagles -

BYE - I see 2 Losses minimum (Chiefs and either Eagles or Bills) and 2 wins minimum (Broncos and Patriots personally)...I think at best they're 4-2 with strong likelihood of 3-3.

@Giants
Chargers
@Raiders
@Bills
Texans - 11th game where he may hit the 65%....I bet they're easily still in contention and somewhere in that 5-5 to 7-3 record heading into it.
@Dolphins
Commanders
@Browns
@Patriots

This stretch has 6 away games and only 3 home...that alone is concerning if you were a Jets fan...and don't overlook the fact in the coldest month they will play outside games in New York, Washington, Cleveland and New England....

In this 9 game stretch I see 3 for sure wins in Raiders, Texans and Commanders....at least a couple losses between @ Bills and @ Dolphins and @ Giants....I see 5 or 6 wins as their maximum wins. That would place them IMO as a 10 win team....could be in or could not be depending.

They would be in a real conundrum wouldn't they? Say they struggle mid season, lose 5 in a row and find themselves at 3-8. Not mathematically eliminated, but some key injuries on both sides of the ball and the offense just isn't clicking enough. I've been told by many posters that you don't bench starters, until you are mathematically eliminated. They would tell me "what kind of signal does that send to the team, fans and media, if they bench Rodgers?" That you never should have traded for Rodgers and it is time to play Zach Wilson? That management sucks?

If the Jets get into the position of having to watch Rodgers total snap count, to make a decision of playing a healthy Rodgers or not, they have more problems then the draft pick turning into a first rounder.

Agreed. But at that point it's the only thing they can control.

I fully expect Rodgers to make a much bigger effort for the new team than we have seen from him. The only question is, how long will that last?

Agee. This might look like 2020 all over again for Rodgers. The year that Love was drafted and Rodgers felt the need to prove it to the world that he still had plenty of gas in his tank and there was no need to draft Love. So yeah, the motivation is once again high for him. Add to that an even bigger motivation, a new team, a new city and wanting to prove to everyone that the Packers giving up on him for a second time, was even more costly for Green Bay. Finally, motivation #3 and I think his biggest. "Had you given me what I asked for on offense, I would have taken a pay cut and lead the team to SB's." #3 won't be achieved, unless the Jets do make it to a SB with Rodgers at QB.

Rest assured, what's his name is going to give the Jets everything he's got to prove he's still got it, and someone made a mistake. He wouldn't have made it this many years if he didn't have that burning desire inside to compete.

I think fans equate health and help with motivation a little too much when they want to s*** on a guy. Rodgers has certainly had a bad relationship with the front office but I tend to believe a broken thumb on his throwing hand and having rookies on offense was more of a factor last season than motivation.

As for Love, we're all going to get to see a real scenario play out where all these young draft picks have basically no veteran presence in the locker room. Packers are now the youngest roster in the NFL since the 2017 Browns (who went 0-16); no, I don't think the Packers will come close to that losing record, I actually expect them to challenge for the division. I'm not pointing this out as a criticism, just an observation that this year's Packers team are officially the DiCaprios of the NFL (anyone over 25 is too old to touch); Love isn't going to get much help from his skill position guys this season (other than Jones).

The saving grace is many rooms do have at least one though...

RB - has 2 IMO
QB - Love has got to watch and wait...I'm fine if folks don't want to say he is, but I'll disagree and say he is in that room now.
WR - no one
TE - Deguara has shared room with Lewis and Tonyan for years...
OL - Bakh

DL - Clark
OLB - Preston, Gary maybe too and Hollins
ILB - Campbell
CB - Jaire and Rasul
S - Owens and Savage maybe....

ST - no one...well Orzech

I was mainly focusing on the guys he's going to be relying on to get open and catch the ball. Also (and primarily), I just wanted to introduce the DiCaprios as a nickname for this year's team.

For sure the pass catchers don't really have a veteran presence yet, be curious if there comes a TE that fits our scheme that may fill that role.
