Once again, I would have expected the team to start Love over Rodgers if they deemed him to be a better choice. They obviously didn't believe that to be the case.

They absolutely were not making that move - the media **** storm that would have caused would have made no logical sense. Especially if both sides knew the beginning of the end was already somewhat felt.

Only because the media creates storms wherever they want. Anyone one of us could go back thru this board, or social media etc and see many were ready to move when the packers were in the midst of a poor season.

Leading up to the Dallas game people were already grumbling about it. Then we lost 2 more in a row after that and people said we were done, make the switch, it's time, Rodgers is done etc.

FO, coaches and Rodgers all spoke to it. They knew what was up. and IMO they did the right thing, as long as playoffs were in play, you play for them and they did so with the QB they felt was the best one to get them there. I don't think it's even a question.

The key being that is what they "felt." I think they were probably wrong and they may have even convinced themselves of Rodgers being the better option because of the upset it would have caused. imho. I do think it has worked out better for us this way though.

it’s a lot easier for us fans to say move on as many of us assumed the playoffs were never happening - but to be fair they were always a possibility which for sure is why they went with the veteran…and not just any veteran but Aaron Freaking Rodgers veteran.

Respectively that answer IMO contradicts itself. If they somewhat felt the beginning of the end then that is the perfect time to play Love. If they still thought they were going to ride into the sunset with AR then you continue to play him.

While I understand what you mean I don't see it that way at all...they hitched their 2021 and 2022 to Rodgers tail...as long as we were not eliminated they were seeing that through...they owed him that much one could argue as well.

Just my mere suggestion of playing Love those last 5 games in 2022, brought a ton of flack from posters. With many of them implying that it would be "tanking". I imagine the FO and MLF felt the same and thus wanted to keep playing starters, until mathematically eliminated.

Hind site, would have been a smart move. More info on Love, probably better draft position in 6 of 7 rounds and more playing time for guys who they saw as being on this year's roster.

If Love would have given the Packers a better chance of winning than Rodgers with a broken thumb MLF should have definitely played him. Otherwise he doesn't have what it takes to be a head coach in the NFL.

Nobody is disparaging Love at all. It's a fact the coaching staff didn't deem him good enough to play over Rodgers with a broken thumb though.
Do you have a quote from MLF saying that? Otherwise you are speculating. Also, if there was a defensive coordinator out there who would give the Packers a better chance of winning next season than Joe Barry, would MLF hire him?

I'm capable of dealing with someone having a different opinion.
Your behavior indicates that you cannot stand it when people have a different opinion from you. Look at the above quotes, in which you repeat basically the same thing over and over in the same post, despite the fact that multiple people have pointed out other valid possible reasons as to why the Packers might not have wanted to start Love over Rodgers and his broken thumb last season. You make really long posts in which you try to present your opinion or speculation as "facts", you nitpick and take things out of context, you repeat things without actually addressing the valid points other people raise, and when your errors/contradictions are pointed out you don't quote them and hope nobody notices. All of that to try to overwhelm people into not responding so that you can "win" the argument.

I'm absolutely convinced that everyone who took a realistic approach to the situation was well aware that a broken thumb on his throwing hand significantly affected Rodgers' performance.
You were also convinced last year that Crosby didn't have the leg strength to hit a 50-something yard FG, but he proved you wrong with the 56-yarder against the Vikings.

The Packers nearly making the playoffs because of a four game winning streak strongly suggests it was the correct decision to play Rodgers.

As long as the Packers weren't eliminated they played the quarterback providing them with the best chance to win.

You took some heat for suggesting to play Love because you didn't care about winning those games. You never suggested Love would present a better option compared to Rodgers playing with a broken thumb.

Do you have a quote from MLF saying that? Otherwise you are speculating.

I don't need a quote from MLF, he decided to start Rodgers every single game.

You completely misunderstand me voicing a different opinion as not being able to deal with someone disagreeing with me. Just because there are several posters expressing a similar opinion doesn't mean it is any more legit than mine though.

That is truly utter nonsense.

True, I didn't think Crosby was able to make a 50+ yards field goal anymore. That has absolutely nothing to do with it being common sense that a broken thumb on the throwing hand negatively affects the performance of a quarterback. It's truly mind-boggling anyone would suggest differently.

At least a 6' 4", there is no concern over Jordan's height or size in general. Will be interesting to see how he plays compared to the first pick of the draft, 5' 10" Bryce Young.

It sure looked like his thumb was a big problem. Rodgers was missing many passes he NEVER missed before.
He's been missing a lot of throws ever since Barr planted him. Even when the drafting of Love spurred him in the as$ for a couple of MVP awards, he missed a lot of throws.

I was obviously talking about players who have played during Rodgers tenure in Green Bay.
No, you weren't. You very plainly said, "Brady is considered the best leader in the history of the sport." Jeez, man. Just own what you said or correct yourself. But don't pretend that "...the history of the sport." only goes back to 2005.

He's in so many arguments with so many different people that he's lost track of what he's said and can't even backtrack without contradicting himself. This is another example of something he claims is "obvious" being totally wrong.

All QBs miss a lot of throws. Even all-everything Tom Terrific and Mahomes. The good ones just miss fewer and the great ones make "how the eff did he do that" more often than the wannabees.

Rodgers finished 5-7 after he injured his thumb. It is not a certainty that Love couldn't have done better than 5-7 over those last 12 games.

As long as the Packers weren't eliminated they played the quarterback providing them with the best chance to win.
Or maybe they played the QB that would keep the most fans in the seats.

I don't need a quote from MLF, he decided to start Rodgers every single game.
Maybe he did that because a lot of fans would have gone berserk over benching a future HOFer.

You completely misunderstand me voicing a different opinion as not being able to deal with someone disagreeing with me.
When you repeat the same thing over and over ad nauseum, it does indicate not being able to handle disagreement. You are unable to just let it go, and instead have to keep repeating yourself.

Once again, if they felt Love presented them with a better chance of winning they should have made the switch and made it known that Rodgers had a broken thumb much earlier. Obviously they still believed Rodgers was the better option.
See? There you go again repeating yourself.

That is truly utter nonsense.
I disagree with you.

Yeah, it makes perfect sense that Rodgers missed a lot of throws while winning the MVP twice in a row

You're right, my bad. It doesn't change a whole lot that Brady is considered a great leader despite doing the same stuff Rodgers has been criticized for.

Rodgers finished 5-7 after he injured his thumb. It is not a certainty that Love couldn't have done better than 5-7 over those last 12 games.

It's entirely possible the Packers could have won five games with Love starting as well. The coaching staff didn't believe that though.

Or maybe they played the QB that would keep the most fans in the seats.

I was told that there's no reason to worry about that as Packers fans will show up no matter what. Therefore that doesn't seem to be a legit argument.

You're repeating yourself all the time as well, so do a lot of other posters around here. None of you come up with a new idea every single time you hit the reply button either.

Once again, you're the one reverting back to personal attacks, a clear indicator that you can't handle someone having a different opinion.

Oh sure, you were vehemently arguing with people about that last month, but now that it suits your narrative on a different topic, you suddenly agree with them. :roflmao:

You're repeating yourself all the time as well
I have to in order to refute the unfounded claims that you keep repeating. Notice how I don't do that with anyone else.

we all repeat ourselves, a lot.

let's get past it. If you don't want to comment on something anymore don't. If you want to, don't be surprised if someone responds. It's the nature of a message board.

Is why ignore is my best friend
What would happen if everyone ignored us. Wouldn’t that be a lonely existence!

The only lower point would be if everyone had ignored us and then we reported ourself for attention.:)
