Absolutely no argument I agree!! They are gonna probly lose the next two.. these team does not have me excited I don’t think they are going anywhere sorry yall but nothing convincing about that slop fest when we should have won 60-0 pathetic
Based off of what exactly? Though I do think we will lose in LA, what about the Patriots defense do you think will stop us from winning in a shoot out? They have absolutely no pass rush and no secondary. This will be the eaisest defense we have faced all season. They gave up thirty points against Blake Bortles and have yet to face a top fifteen defense. This game will be a close shoot out.

Pettine - at some pt our new dc has to understand that you need to blitz and not let 2nd string qb's have time to throw.

Pettine blitzed Beathard on most of his dropbacks but he was close to perfect in those situations.

King - I haven't been able to watch games as much as I have in seasons past, but King is almost invisible out there, and that's because he's doing his job. When he does his job well, we saw the INT.

While King made a great play on the interception late in the game he struggled in coverage for most of the night.

EDIT: I meant King struggled in coverage for most of the season, he was pretty good vs. the Niners.

I'm not saying that there weren't some strong individual performances (Adams, Graham, Clark, etc.), but overall I thought the Packers were lucky last night to win that game. The illegal contact penalty, Jusczyk's fumble, the 49er drops... there were basically unforced errors on SF's part that very well could have been the difference. I expected a lot more out of the team, especially the defense.

Did anyone else notice that we ran like 4 more boot legs after it became clear that SF wasn't biting anymore? I think they got at least two negative plays out of it.

I noted that yesterday, the 49'ers actually aren't as bad as their record would indicate. They seem to be snake bit and have struggled to win some close games, due to making key mistakes, just like last night. I doubt Pettine and Packers underestimated the 49'ers, but if they did, they should't have.

Glad we got the win, but could we please have more of a sense of urgency from the get go? I've never seen an easier walk down the field than that first SF drive last night. Waiting to start to play until the final 15 minutes will NOT be good enough against better than average teams.

Stud:
Not that it was necessarily a studly performance, but it was nice to see Crosby shake his last game woes.
4Q Rodgers
Martinez seemed to have pretty good game
Adams
V-S
Last 5 minute D

Dud:
1st 55 minute D
1-3Q Rodgers

I'm not saying that SF is a hapless also-ran, but Beathard's QB rating jumped about 35 points from his two previous outings, and it happened in our building.

I switched between the games all night, with a ratio of about 75% Brewers and 25% Packers. Which is more than the Packers deserved, really. Without the turnovers they lose to a pretty poor 49ers team with a backup QB. At home. In a game that was almost a must-win if they want to go to the playoffs. So based on 25% viewing I'll say:

Studs:
Rodgers at the end of the game. He made it happen.
Crosby. Nice bounce back after last week.
Adams. The complete package.
Young receivers -- they contributed some clutch plays.

Duds:
Defense until the very end.
Defensive backs. The Packers have used an awful lot of high round picks on DBs for the last several years and haven't got much to show for it. Some of those picks could have been offensive lineman to protect Rodgers a little better or give our run game a little more pop. Is it the talent or the coaching or the scheme? Something is fundamentally wrong with our pass defense.
Dumb penalties.
Negative yardage plays.
Brice. He can't cover.

Sadly, Joe Whitt and the Packer secondary has been in the habit of making QB's like Beathard look great for years. I hate to keep pointing fingers at Whitt, but how long do the Packers keep investing draft capital into the secondary before they wake up and realize, maybe its not just the players that are at fault? Pettine deserves some of that blame yesterday too, whatever he was doing to try and stop the 49'ers on the ground wasn't working either.

Studs:

Crosby for showing character and sticking to his guns. Go Mason!
Rodgers n Co for putting up historic numbers against what I believe was the 12th ranked NFL Defense. Not too shabby.
This WR core has tons of potential and we havnt even seen Kumerow yet.

Duds:
The Defense got gashed pretty good but made a stop when it counted.
Maybe our D was just toying with them? :whistling:

That first bomb was a poor play, but let's not act like a receiver with that speed hasn't burned every single HOF safety ever in the history of the league at least once or twice. Other than that play, were there others I missed last night?

I was watching the game with my dad and brought this up. It was puzzling to say the least.

We also weren't running enough for it to be effective over and over again.

At least earlier in the year he was in position to make plays, now he's not even that.

I think both he and HHCD should be traded to Seattle for a 2nd rounder.

And I could see Schneider making that trade cuz thus far he's allowed us to dump our waste on his lawn.

The Brice experiment should be over. He sucks.

He does seem to get beat over the top a lot. A lot.

For whatever reason, Josh Jones has been conspicuous by his absence. Jermaine Whitehead has been a nice contributor, but has obvious limitations. Who does that leave?

Perhaps, once Breeland and Alexander are healthy, Tramon Williams might be moved to safety? If for no other reason than to have some veteran leadership at the second level of the secondary.

Just a thought.

Those two first-round picks next year.....looks like GB is going to have to spend both of them on defense. Again.

I don't have a strong opinion about Whitt, but I would argue that last night the much bigger problem was blown assignments and the troubling tendency of having safeties and linebackers matched up on wide receivers. I understand that Pettine likes to blitz corners, but having a safety and linebacker trying to keep up with one of the fastest receivers in the league is a net negative.

It worked early, but they clearly adjusted and sniffed them out after halftime. Yet we kept running it and basically wasting plays.

studs Rodgers, Adams, young receivers, Crosby, Graham, Fackrell
Hon. mention Perry for the blocked passes...thing is it was only because he could not get one on one penetration.

Duds O line, D line, D backs and coverage in general, time outs (in both halves)..too early with 3:40 left, Tony Brown (though I don't want to give up on him yet)
