I'm gonna go out on a limb that if Hakeem Butler and Parris Hil.. Campbell are both there at #44 we go with Butler... He has the same RAS score of 9.92 as Rashan Gary....Parris is only a paltry 9.77 :geek:

Haha!

In all seriousness, I do think if Campbell is there, we take him. But if AJ Brown is there, I think they'd take him first.

But am I correct in saying, had the Packers made the same trade and not selected Savage, but Parris Hilton Campbell, I would expect to have seen this from you?

LOL....I actually did type "Hilton".....but HAD to leave it, because I was laughing so hard thinking about the irony.

Here is good Laugh actually. Watch our big 12th pick on this play. They didn't even block him. What a JOKE!

It is easy to draw a comparison between Alexander and Savage. Small frame guys not afraid to stick their nose in it, quick, fast, ball skills, competitive at the ball, instinctual. It's no coincidence that in both cases some analysts projected both these guys to the slot to go against the protypical small, quick receivers.

Make no mistake. These guys are a perimeter corner and a free safety, respecitively. There isn't much doubt about Alexander's spot now, where more upside can be projected, and there shouldn't be with respect to Savage.

Now, situationally, might Savage take on a slot in some man coverages? Sure. Week 3 against KC and Hill might be an example. But make no mistake. Everything about him says his primary role is prowling the back end.

Fully agree. Gute seems to value speed, athleticism and grit when it comes to his secondary. Having Amos, Alexander and Savage out there is going to look much different than what we have seen in the past. If King can stay on the field and Jackson progresses, the Packers could have one of the best secondaries that we have seen in some time.

One note about your post, we may not have to worry about Tyreek Hill when it comes to the Chiefs. ;)

he played all over the place in college but mostly at FS. a really cool addition to the DB's as he can pretty much play anywhere depending on the D called.
king will be on the left (until he gets hurt). i saw jackson penciled in at right cb (which would be great) but i bet tramon beats him out again. alexander at the slot. savage, and his speed, at fs and amos at ss. alexander/amos/savage will move around a lot with their versatility.

I believe in King still. Is he injury prone? That's fair, but I think he along with Alexander compliment one another well. And with our safeties, we may be on to something really special here.

AJ Brown has a RAS of 9.70...all 3 are in play, all three would be an upgrade at the WR position. He went big receivers last year, maybe he continues. I like AJ over all of them.

I keep talking RAS, Gute said last year he wanted us to be more athletic, faster... He drafted 6 guys last year with a RAS over 9.0 and only Cole Madison was below 8.0 (Punter and LS didn't have one) I'm really watching what he does this year to see if it was a one year wonder thing, or is this what he will do going forward. So far, he is 2 for 2.

I can easily post a clip of Campbell having the ball hit him square in the hands and him stone-handing it.

Everybody has bad plays.

Campbell didn't go 1st round, just like I told you he wouldn't. Seattle didn't even try to take him, even though you said they would in the 1st. Get over it.

Of course they didn't block him. He's the read for Haskins.

Would you expect a 280 lb DE to get to 4.3 Campbell on a jet sweep? Cause buddy, no DE in football is making that play.

He STOPPED FLAT FOOTED and couldn't get upfield too disrupt play or make Campbell change run angle. He shows here a lack of FOOTBALL INSTINCT and taking poor angle which is just one of the reasons why he is a DISASTER

HE CAN'T PLAY IN SPACE which is why the Packers drafted him as an OLB. This feels like Datone Jones all over again as if it wasn't fun enough the first time.

If this does not show a LEVEL OF INSANITY I surely don't know what does/.

Thankfully Hill won't be playing in that game.
Probably. But maybe not. Consider the Hill example for illustration purposes and plug in your own name. One example might be matching up against Parris Campbell out of the slot if he happens to land on an opponent's roster. ;)

Well he held Campbell to less than 40yds receiving in their matchup this season, so that sounds good to me.

Good grief man.

His read was the DIVE back. If he pursues the jet initially, which he has no chance of getting to anyways, the dive back has a wide open lane. It's option football, he has to play his assignment. He's literally doing the textbook, right play.

Way to really show your lack of knowledge though. That was impressive.

I saw that note providing more than one reason to cite that example. ;) It assumes Campbell makes the game day roster.

the 12th player picked in the draft should have a better effort on that play. PERIOD!!

I get it though. Some People are going to defend Mediocrity all the way to the bottom.

This off season has been nothing but a disaster.

I fail to see a lack of effort.

He defended his gap. Check.

Identified the ball carrier on an option play. Check.

Moved laterally until he cross the LOS to defend the (admittedly unlike) reverse action. Check.

Once he crossed the LOS he took a pursuit angle. Check.

It wasn't a good enough angle. Minus.

I have a hard time blaming him for the poor angle though--Campbell is fast.

I'd be far more annoyed with Michigan #14 on the play. Could be the camera angle, but it looks like he didn't play his gap correctly. Almost like he let MICH#7 block him. Assuming 14 does his job, ( I feel like he should have been more aggressive) the play never happens. Either Campbell gets strung out the the sideline for a minimal game or he gets turned back into Gary, again, who did his job properly.

If you want to rip on Gary, that's fine. But use evidence that supports your position, not one that impugns it.

Careful there big shooter, we are not allowed to say these things around Brandon, until after the draft! ;)

That was Michigan Safety Josh Metellus and the Packers aren't planning on drafting him until next year. ;)

I feel like Gute traded up to get Fant at 21st because he was pretty sure Denver was going for a qb. Then when they took him, he was like ****, I traded up, might as well get a safety..
