First of all I believe the talk about Love motivating Rodgers to perform at an MVP level is a whole load of BS by fans trying to justify selecting him in the first place
Not for me. I’ve seen this happen several times in my work career.
It’s like when people speed up on the Highway when they see you passing them. They were going 60 snd you passed them at 80... and suddenly they’re trying to run you down at 85 like a Vendetta!

So absolutely nothing personal. But I’ll stand by my own opinion because I’ve lived it. There’s zero chance that #12 didn’t play better partly because he had a chip on his shoulder. That’s not a bad thing either.. and it’s not the primary reason they selected Jordan. Rodgers killing it at that level was absolutely a byproduct of selecting Jordan.
It's true that not every draft pick works put as planned. Once again, the Packers didn't find themselves in a situation in which it was smart to use their first rounder on a player who was guaranteed to not have an immediate impact
That is an excellent argument if you’ve never supported BPA/BAP (whatever) in any way shape or form in the past.
I’m not taking the time to go searching back through posts, but that’s just a self convicting thought for those that play both sides of that coin (not saying you did) We can’t have it both ways and it takes a GM who stands on principal to go against public opinion in order to better his team both now and in the future. Can you imagine how many people though Ron Wolf was an idiot for trading for Mississippi (Favre). I called him Mississippi because Jerry Glanville didn’t even have the respect to use his name. It’s one step up from “boy”. Little did he know Favre would finish as one of the greatest, most durable to set field. Who’s the “boy” now Jerry??

It's absolutely fine to disagree on the topic. I just happen to have a completely different view on it.

I prefer the team to take the BVA approach in the draft, selecting prospects that present the best value to the team with position of need factoring into a decision.

Love definitely didn't check that mark in the short term last year.

You must mean best “immediate short term” value? Gutekunst has publicly stated more than once that position of need is taken into consideration when multiple players of approximate equal value are available.
It’s pretty clear that Love was very, very high on the Packers draft board.
Same thing with Rodgers 16 years ago.

No you’re right he didn’t. I agree with that but I believe the effect will be seen more this or next season. Will we play Love and would whoever we didn’t select have been peaking as far as production. We may never know if the drafting a development QB move was good. Especially if Love gets traded, that would just convolute the debate.

I saw Dave Mason about 5 years ago. Wow, he was still really good. He sounded the same. Singing and playing.

Of course the FO is under fire. They haven't had a successful draft since 2010. Before that 1996. I do consider the 1997 draft almost successful.

Ringo "Bart" Starr, and Pete "the beast" Best are both still alive.
Oh thank you for clarifying
I’ve been getting my music and sports intertwined ever since Mike McCarthy and Ringo Starr left the group.

It just occurred to me that someone said Our Front Office was under fire and so I called 9-1-1 just to be safe.

Rodger that! that was precisely where I was going with this
Do you suppose just at the end of Boyd Dowler’s career... the FO contemplated 86ing him? :sneaky:

If they did, would he become a FO(o) Fighter?

It's times like these you learn to live again
It's times like these you give and give again
It's times like these you learn to (Jordan) Love again
It's times like these time and time again

you prefer it, because it's better :)

it's my favorite version as well.

Yeah, maybe I am getting old, but when all I hear is over amped instruments and screaming, it no longer becomes music to my ears!

Just waiting to see if the next chorus is Peaches & Herb's "Reunited" or Journey's "Separate Ways"....Hoping for the former.

Could be this Elton song too. Some might change the "b word" to GOAT, I guess it just depends on how you feel about him.

Please show me where one "sane" person has said this. I will wait.

I've seen articles with people saying it. Unidentified exec type stuff. Heard his personal QB coach say it one of those Palmers. A few others...idk if I'd say they're insane.

I'd say they might be in better position to know. And they might be lying because they have a vested interest. But either way I'd say it's stupid to move on from Rodgers now...
