I wouldn't make too much out of this any more than the Vikings getting beat down by the Bills. Somebody said there are no trap games in week 3 unless you're playing the Bills. I wonder who that was? ;)

The point being, the real NFL season begins in week 4. Little preseason play from starters, new coaches, new players, kinks to work out...across the league. Team identities start to emerge in week 4.

I thought the real season began in week five.

This team could easily be 0-3...EASILY. This is not a SB contender, and barely a playoff contender. They have no creativity on offense, they are a team that starts slow every game, the defense is still nit very good and they play one half of football. I won’t mark anymore W’s in the win column ever again before they actually play a game. This team isn’t very good.

I was at a bar watching the blacked out game and missed the explanation on Clay's (yet another) roughing the passer flag.

Duds, defense, I thought we had AP figured out by now.
May favorite Packer place that did not renew Direct TV forcing me to make a last minute decision to watch the game.

Studs, the fans who stayed for the entire game.

Bingo. How many times do you see teams open the season 4-0 only to finish 7-10 or vice versa? Nothing more annoying than knee-jerkers who turn on their team after one loss.

Just another week of not looking like a SB contending team & MM better figure something out quick because it's looking pretty much the same as it has since 2014.

I have zero studs, not Rodgers, not Jones, not anyone. Rodgers could have had a couple picks today too. he wasn't great.

Cobb went from darling to dud in a hurry. He's supposed to be a leader and he's responsible for 3 turnovers himself. A drop on 3rd that resulted in a punt. A drop on 4th down and the fumble. To say he had a bad day would be an understatement.

I don't care if Jones just came back from suspension, fine this was a game to "ease" him in, but Montgomery should NEVER be on the field if Jones and Williams are healthy. Zero reason to take snaps away from them to put him out there. They are both better and deserve to be there.

Tonyan should be on the field, Kendricks can now take a seat and play his special teams I guess, or none at all. He's a vet, and we're supposed to depend on them? forget it. Proof positive that putting experienced vets in valuable positions means jack ****. Same for House. He didn't look like he even had remote interest in playing defensive back in the NFL on that pass interference. Everything about it just said, "**** it".

Our safeties are who they are. 2 weeks in a row Brice turns a pass defense possible INT into a TD for the other team. Good news is he's there to make a play, bad news is, it's for the other team. I don't care if HaHa had an INT, he was in the middle of the field and stayed there this time and they still completed basically the same exact TD play that they did to him and King last week. and he's still a lousy tackler.

and the officials. We played like crap, i'm not even going to pretend we deserved to win, but i felt sick watching this game. For the first time in pretty much the 40 years I can remember of watching football, I wanted to walk away. I loved this game since I can remember. I have never turned a game off or walked away or left early, ever. I've sat thru and watched some real stinkers to say the least and today I had such a battle between walking away or supporting my team and it had nothing to do with how crappy they played. I don't know if it was just the Matthews call again, or what, but it seemed like everything after was garbage. Allison gets called for holding, which he did have a hold at the shoulder pads, but check out his face and what the defender was doing to him. WTF, spnning his head off by his facemask and nothing? 3 guys get held in a pass pattern and GB gets called for holding? I really struggled to stay with this game. I hate the NFL for taking this game away from me. These are win taking, game changing huge plays, and they have nothing to do with players.

I've said this before and i'll say it again, with the specter of gambling overhanging it all now, the integrity of the game is being eroded. Officials have too much power to influence and once the trust is gone, the league is done. they are on one fine line right now.

Good:
  • Rodgers playing hobbled.
  • Allison continues to be a revelation.
  • Jones looks like he can provide a spark in the running game.
  • 2nd half defense was on lockdown.
  • J.K. Scott is a stud.
  • The ref literally running away from an enraged MM after the crazy roughing call.
Bad:
  • Jay Gruden took Mike Pettine to school in the first half and shoved him in his locker.
  • Brice just isn’t a starting caliber safety at this level.
  • Spriggs is cementing that he’s never going to be a reliable starter.
  • This offense just doesn’t cater to a quick game and it’s maddening.
Ugly:
  • Drops and fumbles. I know it was wet, but that was awful.
  • The Matthews call. It didn’t cost the Packers the game— they lost fair and square— but this nonsense is really sucking the joy out of watching football for me. The league better figure this out.
  • The Saints came back .

Nope. Not even close.
We will have agree to disagree as we certainly have a different definition of stud. So you just go on being happy with the “stud” Punter and I will go on being happy with the great punter. We are on the same page except for one word. Nothing worth arguing about any longer. Especially since you are one of the few people in the shout box that doesn’t think the world is ending on every play.

Perry apparently was injured. That’s strange, I don’t even remember him being on the field. What a ghost he’s been.

The Dud Hall of Fame nomination goes to the following:
Brice, House, the NFL changing roughing the passer, Kendricks (another Badger bust), Spriggs (what a complete waste of space), Nick Perry (they should change 'Where's Waldo' to 'Where's Nick Perry')

Studs today:
Don't really feel like naming anyone because this performance was an abomination and an embarrassment to everybody involved with this organization but Rodgers was much better in the 2nd half. Aaron Jones, Jimmy Graham, and HaHa looked decent. Besides that no one else really stood out though I didn't notice mistakes from Blake, Clay, Bakhtiari, Adams, Ty, Tramon, and Jaire. These guys I just named get a participation trophy. It's 2018, why not.

Am I the only one shocked that everyone picked the Packers? Lets not pretend they are that much better than the skins.
In my book it's every other team until they show they are.
They can always beat teams with worse records.
But against ones with winning records has yet to be seen.
It has been like this for the past few years.

Duds:
The Packers staff, coaches and everyone else who is responsible for never learning that it takes more than one player to make a team and not building a better team around that one player.

Yeah, I know it's still early in the season blah, blah, blah.
I'm just getting sick and tired of this rinse and repeat stuff.
Decent to good but not great season.
Playoffs.
Lose.
Repeat every year with McMoron as coach.

Studs: Aaron Jones, Rodgers, Jaire Alexander, Josh Jackson, Scott, Buffalo Bills

Duds: Brice and Davon house need to go. Davon house may be the worst CB in the league. Then the obvious roughing the passer calls are getting out of control.

Overall, we were outplayed by the skins. Not worried though as we still sit on top in the division.

DUD: Joe Whitt. How long are the Packers going to let this guy coach the secondary? How long before he ruins Jackson, King and Alexander? There is a common denominator with why the Packers secondary has been sucking hind *** for so many years and it's him.

If someone else won't.....time to start a "Fire Joe Whitt" thread, I will Did. He keeps putting guys on the field that don't know how to tackle, cover and look lost most of the time.

Please don't bring up Sam Shields......every squirrel finds a nut.
