This is kind of a DB move, but whatever...

DUD: Ty Summers- If my boy is going to hit 150 tackles and 10 sacks, he's going to have to play more than zero defensive snaps!

Really? Playcalling already? How about that our quarterback was held out by the coach in 2 pre-season games and basically straight up refused to play in the other 2? Could not knowing what would happen with live rounds being thrown at Aaron possibly have had something to do with this? Trying not to **** off a 34 Million dollar QB (Horrible contract btw) had nothing to do with his play calling? Come on man, a little reality here.
Ric give it a rest! Seriously man not today with your bashing Rodgers antics. Today is a feel good day. Stop being a wet blanket.

Rodgers admitted he played bad and that he'll have to step it up. The Packers played a good D last night and the OFFENSE as a whole was sloppy. They'll get it together i'm sure as the season progress.

He's still salty that the Packers didn't spend a 1st round pick on Mason Rudolph.

studs...the D! tramon had a couple of dumb penalties and king dropped a sure int but both made plays too.

duds...everyone on O with the exception of bakhtiari...maybe...davis. graham caught that prayer of a td pass. adams did what he could.
Bakhtiari had two holding calls. Even he doesn't get a pass on this one.

Can't really say I blame him with his injury problems. He also knows a loss last night wouldn't have been the end of the world. He also didn't really lay an egg. He didn't play up to his standards, but he could have been much worse.
Rodgers dancing around in the backfield with happy feet and holding on to the ball to long. Obviously MF is not coaching him that much. Why not utilize the short passing game more and get the ball out of there especially with a pass rush like the Bears have.

break down some specific plays please. Down and distance, alignments, routes and what Rodgers did wrong. just 3,4 plays will do. We'll wait.

Otherwise you're likely talking about a lot of 2nd and 3rd and 10+ plays, like the guy advocating a pass 2 yards behind the line of scrimmage on a 3rd and 15 play.

I don't have the time or patience for that.

I figured as much, no idea what's happening on the field, but hey, never stopped anyone from having an opinion about what our QB should be doing and what the coach hasn't done.

gbgary,

Yeah, that's why I'm going to watch the whole thing again. I'm a total freaking geek that way (there are worse vices). I want to see how plays worked, who made the key blocks, why plays didn't, will watch different players a few times over, etc. But, that one, I did review a couple of times last night... ouch. Now, granted, that is a very talented front 7 still in tact from last season. What a test to start the season, with our #1s ice cold...

I'm glad Aaron is in good shape after that. Whew! Sacked 5 times just like Trubisky. We are going to have to nip that in the bud...

Kevin King played a good game as well, btw. Our secondary is pretty capable.
He only played a little over half the defensive snaps 42/73. When he left the field Tony Brown got picked on and gave up a few of the Bears passing highlights at least in the first half.

another stud was Lewis. In this one game he got over half his last season totals for targets and receptions.

Coming from someone who watches every single Rodgers post game presser, he's very rarely been any different than we was last night.
Rogers should get paid based on performance lol. Then we could prob sign couple more big free agents. Based off of last night. But hey. The bears defense is no joke. almost everyone on that defense can be pro-bowler/all-pro. cept clinton dix.

Savage looked awesome. closed in on balls coming his way fast.
tony brown did very well.
Jaire was like glue.
King dropped that interception; but played well.
amos with the pick . and was in on alot of run plays.
Good to see our defense caving in the offensive line for once.

Offense...

O-line needs to do better. And will. They arn't gonna play a defense as stacked as that again. although viking, charger, rams coming up will be tough as well.
Im surprised they didn't but Jenkings in for a few plays to see how he did. couldnt hurt by how offense was playing.

Rogers out there looking like a average qb. age may be catching up. hopefully can get him enough time to get the ball out more.

Jones....never had holes....feel bad for him. bears were on him.

For having a elite qb i think its expected that offense does better. I think bears had more overall offense then us. But , new system , knock off some rust. we will see.

Lewis has always been someone I've been a fan of, well before he came to Packers. He is a big, talented blocking first TE, but has the athleticism and veteran savvy to really surprise folks. Him with Graham and throw in Tonyan...while we IMO don't have the best top shelf TE group GB has ever had, the potential of having the best overall squad is 100% there IMO.

Not to mention Matt LaFleur taking over a team still in the McCarthy mode wasn't going to hit all his bearings with play calling already.

Personally I hardly feel Rodgers is at fault when I see him dropping back, reaching his set point where the back foot gets planted and already someone up in his grill. I saw that like ... I don't know how many times but a ton. Taylor and Bulaga are primarily the cause of this which is why Packer nation has been railing about sending them packing.

I believe LaFleur will figure out what's working and encourage Rodgers to use it while still allowing him the freedom to check defenses and audible/change plays as needed. But the offense needs more playmakers, they don't have enough. And man I don't ever want to see any more injury prone TEs get drafted.

he was getting twitter love from other Packers o-lineman. aaron nagler said he played well too.

Hey bud,
Been trying to focus on him more to no avail. Been big two day stretch w ZZTOP & GB v. CHI back to back...

What I’ve really noticed 1st half, looking over it again, King played great. 3-4 (brain slightly fried) run stops solo. 1 sack, and what should have been an INT 1st half.

Taking closer look in 2nd realizing the OL players I called out made a ton of great plays. My mistake using wide brush in my earlier thoughts. This was a phenomenal front 7 we faced talent wise. Lends credence to that theory for sure.

Bakhtiari played way worse than I originally thought. Got completely bull rushed back into Aaron for a sack by Floyd. Had nowhere to go as Turner & Bulaga nearly same.

Both OTs gave up pressures to Mack. Who doesn’t?

More later. OL performance appears mix of poor plays, great plays, and understandable really, given the talent faced thus far mid 3rd.

Graham played well too so far, as did Raven Greece. Wow. Hustler.

More later... 10:14 3Q

Clark, Preston, Lancaster nice pressure on 3rd and 1 ft.

Mercedes Lewis whiff 1st and 10 along w Turner, Linsley, Bulaga getting walked back run blocking for 0 yds run stop.... Linsley/Tonyan whiff for sack. Bakhtiari can’t chip Mack on screen causing throw in turf by Rodgers for the 3 & out....

6:30 3Q

*BTW, not doing this for any reason other than to share w those who missed or didn’t record. Kind of cool putting plays under microscope to see how they happened. To me anyway.

Living PHX for 13 years I craved that kind of info.

Whoah. Bears with one of the dirtiest plays I’ve ever seen. Roquan Smith at 2:22 mark Q3 knees Aaron Jones in the gut after a run stop. What a little ***** Smith is...

It is VERY quick right at 2:22-23 - completely intentional. Put Jones on sidelines in a lot of pain....

Mighta been the ********...

Monster miss by Bakhtiari over running block on QB hit to Rodgers by Mack. Turner then Bulaga too from right side for dump off, Rodgers getting run out by Hicks for the Rodgers sandwich... ugh. Loss of 2. Hicks w the cheap shot on Rodgers.

Should have easily been called Roughing the Passer. I get people saying don’t say the refs, but, this crew had blatant misses.

14:50 Q4 Savage w a great pressure on Trubisky forcing a throw to nowhere.

The strip sack by HaHa seems like a good example.

Not sure if it has been mentioned yet, but was so nice to see Pettine down on the field to celebrate this win. I know some fans prefer him up in the box, but this defense and its players seem like "his guys", so it is nice to see him in the trenches with them. I get the sense that this team has already jelled with each other and it isn't just a couple of guys patting each other on the backs, its everyone getting excited for everyone else. Of course winning always helps do that. :)

Great scene in the locker room after the game.

down and distance, offense and defensive alignment, what was happening down field. What routes were run? I thought I was pretty clear the first time? You're saying our QB needs to do something different and so does our coach, now tell us why. anyway it was a 3rd and 5, and he wasn't sacked, he was tackled after a first down run and fumbled and recovered at the end, but it was all wiped out by holding and our first down because 3rd and 15.

If you're going to come back with something, make sure it at least remotely qualifies.
