Davanta should play if fit. His case is different from AR12 and there's no comparison.

Tanking suggestions are just naive and silly.

Again nobody is saying to tank. There is no point in putting him out there if he’s “fit” when the guy has had 2-3 concussions in the span of a year. Besides, the word out is that he’s ruled out for Sunday anyway so it’s a moot point.

It's not a preseason game. That's why it's so valuable to see what we have with some of the younger guys with live bullets flying. I hate the Queens as much as anyone but this game has lost its story book narrative the second we lost to Carolina.

The other and bigger agenda at this point is getting at least Capers out of here so the insanity can stop and were hopefully not doing the same old thing again next year. I know it's hard for you but we need to look to the future. If losing meant getting rid of Capers and TT then sign me up at this point.

Otherwise you might want to go watch the movie "Ground Hog Day" because that's what some of us are living in regards to the Packers organization.

If losing to Minnesota actually would improve our chances of firing Dom Capers, Mike McCarthy would have done it years ago. Also, with Brett Hundley starting and Devante Adams out, we probably will lose because of the offense.

Whose offense? The Vikings because they do what they want against our defense or our offense, because they can't do much? I will agree with both of those arguments. :coffee:

Our offense will lose it because Minnesota has one of the NFL's best defenses and will play against Brett Hundley again. Making matters worse is not having Devnate Adams to help out this time.

Our defense will lose because football is a team sport. If the offense can't stay on the field, the defense can't get off it.

Again....this is kind of a circular argument. If our defense was a top 5 defense, they might be able to do just enough to score some points on their own or give Hundley favorable field position to win the game. However, our defense can't seem to get off the field no matter what offense the Packers put on the field. Can we compromise and just say...."On Saturday, The Green Bay Packers will most likely suffer a Team Loss"? :coffee:

I hope they surprise me this weekend, but i'm not expecting it. i don't expect the miscommunications in the backfield to be fixed in a week that have been there for years. our best pass rushers who rarely play, probably aren't going to play again, neither of them. brooks is ok, and the homer in me wants to see Biegel, he plays with a high motor and good things can happen. Fackerell looks like a waste of a pick, but he'll be out there a lot since that's basically who we'll be going with at edge rushers.

I hope we can get our run game going and Hundley can find some sort of groove because if it's and out all day with small bursts of offense, our defense is going to get worked over hard. they don't need it made any harder on them. they do enough to make things difficult on themselves.

Adams has proven he is a great asset to this team and does not have to play against the Vikings, there is no need for him to risk anything right now. He is only 1 player, he would have definitely changed the outcome of the Panthers game but we seem to be the only team that has big time injuries every year including the super bowl year. I honestly don’t remember the last time we had a full roster without any big player injuries, we always forget about the fact that we won the Super Bowl with a 1/4th of our starters injured.

Welcome to Football. I don't think any team goes through a season without losing starters. The key is to have capable backups, sometimes 2-4 deep. The pitfall of a draft and develop team, sometimes you get so thin at a position, you are forced to play guys who aren't ready to step up and compete quite yet in the NFL.

In no way should Davante play. The only thing we should do with Davante is pay.

On board with the second post. 2010 was a Cinderella year in so many respects. On the injury front, particularly IR, many were "who's he?" types, some were (subjectively) replaced with backups who should have been playing anyhow (Barnett/Bishop), Finely going down actually forced better use of the remaining skill players, they didn't have to go much beyond 2nd string anywhere, and (specifically to the point) the "next man up" played like it, most with their career years.

Only someone who does not watch football would say no other team has players who suffer major injuries. It happens to all 32 teams.

This is an absolute win for the Packers and for Davante. He's only going to get better and better. He and Aaron are developing an elite wavelength that will soon be on the Aaron-Jordy level.

I'm glad the Packers re-signed Adams but that's a shitload of money. With that move I fully expect either Nelson or Cobb not being on the roster next season.

I see Jordy, Cobb and Clay all getting their contracts restructured. They'll make this work.

For that kind of money he is going to make Jordy and Cobb look like bargains. :roflmao:

Someone was gonna give it to him. Might as well be the Packers.

I would try to get Jordy to restructure, unless he's wanting to retire. Might be time to move on from Cobb.

The Packers are pretty hesitant restructuring contracts though. In addition it's close to impossible doing it for players with only one year left on their contracts without adding at least another season.

I'm not so optimistic about that, but it would be terrific if you were right.

We'll see what happens. I made a similar post in another thread, and it could just be me being a homer, but I think Jordy will 100% take a pay cut. He maybe has 1-2 years left in him, and he's already made his big $, has a ring, etc.

Clay is simply making too much money for the level of his production, but we'll see about that one. Hopefully he doesn't go too hollywood on us.
