No breathing near QBs lest you give them cold/flu! Cant' run too fast near them lest they get sick in the draft. etc etc
Defense has to use hand sanitizers between every play.

mahomes practiced today. :whistling:
And Andy Reid hasn't ruled him out for Sunday. I'm trying to figure out if this is a red herring or if it's serious. Right now I'm guessing he plays.

Is anyone going to the game? I'm thinking of overnighting a JK Scott jersey because all my Packers regalia is still in Florida. Or maybe Savage or Alexander?

It could be a little gamesmanship on the Chiefs part, but I personally do not see the benefit of giving Mahomes even a limited amount of the practice snaps if they know he isn't going to play on Sunday.

Especially for a Wednesday practice.

If I had to guess, he and Reid are planning to give it a go.

I didn't see the injury and of course none of us get to examine after, but depending on the severity of the "dislocation" of the knee cap, there's more than Lloyd Christmas chance he has nothing more than some knee soreness and is just fine.

It's a big risk. If it doesn't end well, someone would have a lot of explaining to do.

Play or not Packers should be ready as if he is playing this Sunday night. If he is then get ready for a shoot out between two QBs that are known for...what are they known for?

Regardless of who is starting at QB.... they had better be ready to at least limit Hill.

On nflpickwatch.com, 68 of the picks are in and they are picking the Packers by 94%. As far back as I can remember, I don't think we have ever lost when we were favored by 80% or more. I know, first time for everything, but I'm feeling pretty confident. I'm going with Packers 38 Chiefs 17

If he plays, he won't be 100% and the Smiths will feast. He didn't have a minor injury. If they put him on the field Sunday night then I predict they'll just run him into the ground and in 2 more years he'll end up like this guy:

I don’t want Mahomes to play. Not out of fear but out of compassion. One game of trying to beat GB is not worth possible forfeiture of a season. If he suffers re-injury week 8 he could miss a significant amount of time. If I’m in Andy Reid’s place I’m holding him out regardless of what he thinks. This isn’t the Championship game or SB. Lots of football left. They’re a good team that would still very likely make the playoffs even if Mahomes missed 2 weeks etc..

I have this odd picture I can't get out of my head. Moore starts, the Packers are winning, then sometime like in the fourth quarter Mahomes comes in, the stadium erupts, and he pulls off a Superman come from behind victory. Hopefully that doesn't happen.

Having Savage back in the secondary is an improvement. I think that allows some more confidence to move closer to the LOS to get more involved in run support and the short passing game.
Savage is one of the few people with the natural quickness to challenge Hill and keep him contained before the play fully develops.

What for? I'd rather play against him at SB than now.
because, i'd rather lose to them at full strength than beat them without their very good QB and get a false sense of where we are as a team.

Darnell Savage is really going o help our middle D too. It will be great to have him back if he's able to return.

I'm thinking this Packers O is going to pour on the run, just like you, AmishMafia. KC's run D currently ranks #29 in the NFL according to FO. LaFleur is looking like a champion of exploiting opposition weaknesses, and I suspect not much will change going into a hostile environment in KC, where I feel he will give us all another gigantic dose of run heavy O. Aaron Rodgers and his WRs should benefit greatly, as those giant run games tend to open everything up for Rodgers in the passing game.

I would not doubt this is a very high scoring day for the Packers, and it won't matter too much who KC brings in at QB, as they won't be making many plays being relegated to the sidelines for the majority of the game if we stick with a run heavy assault...

KC's pass D is currently ranked 4th in the NFL according to FO. I just can't see LaFleur playing into their hands on Sunday night by getting pass happy after last week, though, I do see where their pass D ranking could easily plummet, since Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams along with Danny Vitale will open some flood gates for high percentage completions for Aaron Rodgers.

The KC OL is currently ranked 31st by FO. 21st in power run blocking and 6th is pass blocking. Those guys are going to be in for one hell of a test against this Packers D. Conversely, GB's OL is ranked #15 overall, 18th in power and 9th in pass pro.

The KC and GB DL rankings are very similar, 31st and 30th respectively. Both are suspect in run D, and both are far better in getting to the QB, ranking 9th and 8th respectively. Though, I do think KC's numbers skewed heavily after thumping a reeling DEN last week, holding them to less than an 8% conversion rate on 3rd down, and sacked DEN 9 times! That was an anomaly for KC. DEN's OL ranking is #29 in pass protection...

Both games KC has played with a similar RB pairing to GB's Jones/Williams, they have lost (IND Mack/Wilson, HOU Hyde/Johnson).

Run. To. Daylight. Packers.

Undeerstand. But I'll take a win any way I can. Not really our fault for Mahomes injury, but it's a gift I'd take gladly.

And we've faced other good teams to have a judgement of where we are now.

Adams participating in individual drills this morning.

Looks like both Reid and LaFleur are doing everything they can to get their best men on the field and give us a show.

Packers 31 chiefs 26

Aaron Jones the star of the game with 185 total yards and 2 TDs.

On defense the Smiths get back on track with 3 sacks and Pack gets a pick 6 by none other than Josh Jackson!

Ha! If Savage is back, Josh Jackson might not even play on defense.
