So it was Ted Thompson's opinion that Love was "too good to pass up" that swayed Gute to Love's selection? Rats! I wish we knew this at the time. I can think of several anti-TT posters who's head would have exploded!
I think many of them are anti-Gute as well. Let's face it, unless the Packers win by 90 points, with the defense shutting out the opponent, some Packer fans will find something or someone to B**** about.

I made a post about a week ago that mentioned there hasn't been 1 shutout in the NFL this season. Expectations are too high for what the defense can do. The game favors offense in many aspects, so with that in mind, my opinion is if you hold a team under 20, you had a good day, and it should get you a win at least 90% of the time.

I agree, during the regular season. However, in the Playoffs, if you have to face a team with a top defense, you might have to shut their offense down to 15 or less.

I also think that there are times where are defense has given up more points than what "it appears". Of course this happens when the Packer offense turns the ball over in their own territory, pick six, etc. It also occurs when the offense has staked the Packers to a big lead and the defense plays soft, allowing the other team to score points.

I've been meaning to bring that up. Didn't we just win that last game by a measly 17 points?

It happened when Watson fumbled at midfield. Can’t do that against a #1 Offense. What would’ve likely been
4-down territory GB and led to a FG or even a TD… went 7 points to Detroit.

I’m not blaming Watson, but those might be situational just run out of bounds and take it 1st n 10 at Midfield. I know we want to fight for a couple extra yards but treat Detroit like a 2-minute drill and protect the ball and play keep away. It’s different if it’s 4th quarter down 3 scores return every punt and fight for every yard.

Here? play keep away. Not to mention you keep your Defense rested off the field. I’d rather have it at the GB47 and just move the chains.

The "good news" for the Packers, their 4 loses are to 3 very good teams (Eagles, Vikings, Lions (s))

The Bad news for the Packers, they will probably face at least 1 or 2 of those teams in the playoffs. I look at the Saints and Bears games as games to really put things together and get some real confidence in the team. That said, going up to Minnesota next week and smashing them like we did at the end of last season can go a long way in building confidence.

Back in the "Lions suck every season" days, the Packers just might be 12-2 and the predominant choice for an NFC team to make it to the Superbowl.

Yup, those are the kinds of mistakes that can send teams home in the playoffs. Just have to play almost mistake free ball to beat the top teams.

I often rewatch a previous meeting because a lot can change over course of a season. Also rewatching you can see things in the rerun. Weaknesses we have or they have. Things we could’ve capitalized on. Players missing etc.

Eagles we had :27 seconds getting the ball last in that game. Had we had 1:27 that might’ve been a different outcome. We literally drove to midfield in 15 seconds in a higher scoring contest 1st n 10. :12 seconds left. TD wins. Ran out of time.

Much like at Detroit it’s about who gets the ball with what time left.
When Detroit got it with 3:30 minutes left I immediately knew we were doomed.
Had we had 5:30 minutes left with 2 timeouts + 2 minute? we’d still have the ball last at minimum in a shootout.

Against MN Jordan three 3 INT. It was kinda obvious he was rusty throws were way off target way high. 1 of those might’ve happened had he played 3 full games. Love barely finished 1 game and went down.
NerveSon missed 2 FG and wasted 2 drives.

These are 3 of the best 5 teams in the NFL. Detroit Eagles MN only game we really got handled was Detroit in our slop fest. Every other game we were in it with seconds left.

Correct. What the hell was wrong with Ron Wolf anyway?
Majik got injured seriously 3 seasons in a row. As much as I liked the man I doubt he would have survived in the NFL for long. Favre was an Iron Man for 2 decades.
