Chip Kelly was recently given nearly complete control of the football operation, with GM Roseman kicked upstairs. The GM position in Philadelphia is in name only.

I hope E. Wolf stays. I have a feeling he may be in line to be the next GM here after Thompson gets fired by some of the posters here again in the March-May timeframe when we finish last in the division again in off-season moves.

Aaron Rodgers and Josh Sitton on Pro Football Writers of America all-NFL team. Both also on all-NFC team with WR Jordy Nelson.

Where did you see that?

http://espn.go.com/blog/green-bay-packers/post/_/id/17633/everyone-but-aaron-rodgers-at-practice

The media is only allowed in at certain parts...So maybe that is why the media wasnt aware..

So then probably in the closed session, Rodgers was at practice, which is why it was 1st mentioned he wasnt at pratice

The quarterback took limited snaps on Wednesday, the first day of practice for Green Bay ahead of Sunday's NFC title game against the Seattle Seahawks.

I posted that immediately after it was posted on the Packers News twitter feed. Rodgers was a limited participant according to McCarthy, although it´s probable that he only took part in walk-throughs. It´s pretty obvious Matt Flynn took most, if not all, reps with the #1 offense.

A reliable source for player practice or not has been John Clayton. I wish I could report what he said today but I can't remember. He did talk about who participated but at the time I was doing a repair on some wiring to a DA I will be using tomorrow.

You can find a wealth of 411 following Clayton speaking on KIRO 710 AM ESPN in Seattle.

And then there's this:
Scare tactic: When running back Eddie Lacy started having some discomfort in his knee during practice coach Mike McCarthy pulled him immediately. Lacy watched the rest of the practice inside the Don Hutson Center from the sideline. "Eddie Lacy's knee is sore," McCarthy said. "I was just being conservative, so I pulled him in about the middle of practice. I think Eddie will be ready to go on Sunday. Just the coach was nervous, all right?"

In the meantime, Rodgers sat out the early part of practice but tested his strained left calf during a couple of series in the team portion of practice. "Went through pass under pressure and went through two team periods," McCarthy said. "So (he's) getting ready to play." Offensive coordinator Tom Clements said he thought Rodgers looked good.

Weather should be fine on Sunday during game. Temp between 48-52 during game time with a couple small scattered showers along with sun breaks.

May I impose with a brief interruption to the wailing and gnashing of teeth?

The Packers have signed all of their Practice Squad guys for camp except for one...the Alex Gillett era has come to a close.

Here are the guys who were re-upped:

  • WR Myles White
  • S Jean Fanor
  • RB Rajion Neal
  • CB Tay Glover-Wright
  • LB Joe Thomas
  • LB Adrian Hubbard
  • OT Jeremy Vujnovich
  • C Joe Madsen
  • OG Josh Walker

Mike Daniels will earn another $914,000 (increasing his salary to $1.574 million) in 2015 after hitting an escalator because he played in more than 35% of the defensive snaps in two of his first three seasons.

Josh Sitton will earn $5.1 million next season (increase of $250,000) after being named to the Pro Bowl.

Permission denied. Van Pelt has one year left on his contract.

"Thompson and McCarthy have a long history of denying teams permission to interview their assistant coaches. Tom Clements, Edgar Bennett, Joe Whitt, Darren Perry, James Campen and McAdoo were all denied chances to interview with other teams."

Packers have signed former Alabama punter Cody Mandell. I agree with bringing in some competition for Tim Masthay.
