The Packers lead the regular-season series, 29-23-2, and the postseason series, 5-3.
I hope the D line doesn't let Barkley embarrass them.

Well we've seen that the QB could be a beer vendor and it wouldn't matter. But that run D. WTF is up with that? They beef up the D line in the offseason with Reed and Wyatt, improve the ILB position in the draft with Walker, have hard hitting corners and safeties, and RBs still look like they're running through cheesecloth. They gotta get this fixed. And I'll be damned if I know the answer.Giants ran for 262 yards against the Bears day. Gonna be a big challenge for the D.
Daniel Jones left the game in the 3rd Q with an ankle injury. The backup, Tyrod Taylor left with a concussion. Could they be up against a 3rd stringer again?
I think you're right Mondio. It's just frustrating with the additions on that side of the ball. All of the starters are hard hitters. They have to find out how opponents are doing it, and close those gaps. Oh, and stopping the arm tackles would help. Wrap up.I only watched the first half of that game yesterday. Barkley is the best in the business if you ask me. Tough task, but when this D decides it needs to stop the run, I believe they can do it well.
Barkley..... and he's having maybe his best year. But the Packers play to the level of their competition, week after week. If they can keep Barkley around 100 yards, they'll win. A big "if".The Packers lead the regular-season series, 29-23-2, and the postseason series, 5-3.

Agree. What's the status on his ankle and when might he be ready to return? If stopping the run is part of the plan I would personally play Krys Barnes more than we ever have this year. His range isn’t special like Campbell or Walker but that joker makes tackles.
I don't think the coaches are using a real game to create "teachable moments" for the D. I do agree they'll be ready for Barkley next week. For a long time, the Packers have played up to or down to the level of competition.I think our defense is all mentality. I think they go into certain situations that they aren't going to give up anything big, just play straight up, and just let the game happen around them and you see them relax just a bit and when you relax just a bit, the holes and missed tackles happen.
I don't like it, trust me, I've never been a fan of turn it on when we want type mentality. and I don't think it's everyone, but some. But when it's time to stand stout and get off the field, I think they can. I think going into a game against Barkley, they'll have the right mentality all week and it will show.
I don't think the defense was doing anything yesterday to focus on the run game. I think the coaches are still trying to get them to work things out in base D's before adding wrinkles. I think at this point they don't have any issue leaving the D in a disadvantageous position to create teachable moments if they fail feeling they have the calls if needed to win against some of these teams. It's frustrating to watch, but it's how it is.
They're all teachable moments potentially. I don't mean to imply their creating a practice scenario, but I do think they're using a lot more base defenses to see how people react and teach them reads and cues and get those down pat before adding in the wrinkles that will really shut things down when you hit them right.I don't think the coaches are using a real game to create "teachable moments" for the D. Thanks for the clarification. Makes sense. The biggest problem now is the run D. I think that's fixable. They certainly have the talent. They're all teachable moments potentially. Which is a stark contrast to some other defenses we've seen over the years where they'd scheme everything to be good which would leave us being gashed in other ways when wrong.
Well, I hope you like English Muffins with beer.8:30 in the morning in Wisconsin. I've never watched a game over coffee, eggs and bacon. Good thing I love English muffins for breakfast.
Well, they have to stop Barkley and then tee off on the QB. We stopped Fournette but the Bucs run game has gone south. The Giants will look at what the Pats did running the ball. That is scary. We have to have to be ready. Giants are playing with nothing to lose. The Packers lead the regular-season series, 29-23-2, and the postseason series, 5-3.

Well then the Packers need to use some different tactics on Barkley. Start by keeping him around 100 yards as a goal. Then put in a plan to do it. There lies MY dilemma. I ain't an alcoholic if I don't drink before noon is my personal belief. I've violated it only once in the past 40 years that I recall. Maybe it'll depend on how the game is going.Well, I hope you like English Muffins with beer.
None of us will fault you if you set your clock(s) ahead 4 hours, watch the "12:30" game Sunday while enjoying a couple of barley pops. There lies MY dilemma. Also I woke up at 8:15 this morning. It took an alarm clock and hitting snooze twice to do it. Lord knows I hate early mornings.
Bringing up a safety would help against the run. The rest of the secondary, assuming Alexander is back, should be good enough to cover.Based on performance to this point in the season, Barkley is probably going to get 150+ yards total unless there are some major scheme changes; the players obviously don't mind getting embarassed on the ground so it's going to be up to the coaches to find something to make it work. I can't imagine literally any reason the Packers need to play with two safeties deep against this Giants team.
Good idea except I leave for work next Sunday at 1pm. Food production doesn't stop for anything but Christmas and Super Bowl.None of us will fault you if you set your clock(s) ahead 4 hours, watch the "12:30" game Sunday while enjoying a couple of barley pops.

Barnes cannot be eligible to play until week 6 against the Jets.If stopping the run is part of the plan I would personally play Krys Barnes more than we ever have this year. His range isn’t special like Campbell or Walker but that joker makes tackles.
