No one likes bad calls, but the refs make some incredibly accurate calls in real time. To your point, they see things I'd never see in regular time. Yeah they make mistakes, that's part of the game and I think it evens out over time. Now there are some horrendous calls, like the missed PI call against the Rams that sent them to the SB instead of the Saints, but game changing bad call like that are rare. (And in the Rams case, maybe bad karma as they lost in the SB anyway.) They tried allowing challenges on PI and it just didn't work and slowed the game down too much.
I agree with everything but the last sentence. They definitely did not try it honestly … because the refs were allowed to refuse to change obvious bad calls. They didn’t like the rule change …. so they ignored it.

Forced to play as you are the man from the get go is different to sitting behind the starter. You have to learn quickly & people will give you the benefit of the doubt as everyone knows QB is a difficult position to play. You have to learn the play book & then build up chemistry with your receivers & backs & O line.
Those people who have disagreed with the Love draft pick from Day 1, won't acknowledge that though. They want to believe that Love is a failure. All anyone has to do is look at all the Rookie QB's and second year QB's that played this year and in years past, very few of them lit up the league and many of them were top 15 picks.

I don't expect to know what the Packers have in Love until he plays a lot more and that includes more than a fill in game here and there. I will make a predication though, Love plays at least a half if not more on Sunday and I think we see an improved player. He will be prepared to play, as will his teammates and him winning or losing the game doesn't matter.

I think it’s unfair to assume that those that disagreed with the Love pick .. hate Love. I was and still am very against the pick. I still believe that pick should have been used to find a potential immediate starter. We have debated all of this and all of the reasons ad nauseam. I am however very hopeful that now that Love is a Packer that he will become a great QB either for the Packers or at least as a valuable trade.

Agreed....While I never used the words "hate Love", I should have said "Some of those people who have disagreed with the Love draft pick from Day 1, won't acknowledge that though.. Thanks for pointing that out. I didn't agree with it right away, but I fully understood it. I just notice that some....people who from Day 1 find whatever they can to support their position on Love. When in reality, your position should eb and flow with his career and what he does or doesn't do.

Amazing what watching the tape does.
Tried to find both plays on YouTube and could only find the first one to Winfree, but I was surely wrong about the throws being at the receivers' feet. Feet or otherwise, I believe neither was catchable. Being safe with the ball is a reasonable explanation, I suppose. I remain hopeful that Mr. Love will make a good showing against the Lions. Again, these are his opportunities to make an impression on the league. For the sake of his personal success, be it with the Packers or another team, he needs to capitalize.

I wasn't going to say anything about Love's performance, since I was on my way to my truck when he was out there. I just watched it the other night. I actually thought Love looked pretty sharp. Was also glad that MLF actually had him run some pass plays. Yeah he threw 2 at peoples feet, but Rodgers did earlier in the night too. I am kind of anxious to see Love on Sunday, especially with this week of practice and him knowing that he will get extended playing time.
