Studs:
1. Jacobs : self explanatory, he was the man today
2. MLF's Game Plan : Didn't abandon the run (42 runs today), 5-5 in the Red Zone
3. Defense : 10 pts allowed, 3 turnovers, 2 Sacks, 2 4th down stops, less than 250 yds in offense allowed, only 44 yds rushing on 16 carries.

Duds: No Duds, just some Dud plays
1. Watson TD drop: would have been a huge answer after the 49ers TD before the half.
2. Enagbare and Van Ness both lining up offsides.... that just is inexcusable
3. The next 2 plays after Watson's drop... they did not need to throw deep 3 plays in a row. They had 2 timeouts, and needed about 12 yds for a comfortable FG try.

This was a good team win that they needed to have. This win almost cements a playoff spot, and all you need is a ticket to the dance and hope you get hot at the right time.
Jacobs - Enough said already. Maybe the best game of his career, and that's saying a lot.

And the D allowing only 44 yards rushing with McCaffrey back. Sure it was easier with Purdy out and knowing they would need to run, and McCaffrey not near 100%. And with the big early lead, Allen was forced to pass. Even so, keeping McCaffrey under 44 yards rushing is a huge accomplishment for the D on any day.

Love still has not played a great game. The team still has not played complete games up to their capabilities. And yet there's still 8-3. They're not far away from putting it all together. If so, they're going to be very dangerous in January
That's an honest assessment.

They can still play better across the board. Not whining about an 8-3 start, but even that is only good for third in the NFC North. Even with the addition of playmakers Jacobs and McKinney, they'll need to up their game to make a deep playoff run. Plenty of football left before the playoffs. Love has to return to the form he displayed in the last half of last season.

McCaffrey may not be physically 100%, after 11 games no one is. It was clear to me that he is still an extraordinary football player. He does so many of the intricate details so well. On the other side of the coin, Samuels flat out surrendered. He's still dangerous, but he showed yesterday he can be just as dangerous to his own team as he is to the opponent. I love seeing opponents channel their inner Calvin Ridley like that.

To add just a little bit to the praise for Jacobs (and the OL) and his 106 yard rushing day - the Niners had not allowed a 100 yard rusher for 55 straight games. I hope I heard that right. That seems unreal to me. Along with the playoff games, it's almost three full seasons.

Well I'm glad Jacobs was the one to break that streak. He doesn't look all that flashy until the network posts his rushing yards/total yards, and then it's like, "How TF did that happen?" He's a stud alright.

McCaffrey has only been back for the last three games due to bilateral achilles tendonitis.

And Samuels dropped at least two passes he should have caught, one resulting in an INT by McKinney and 7 points. He's certainly a good player, but his best play is probably behind him.

He was well on his way yesterday until Watson's internal GPS went on the fritz again on a perfectly thrown bomb, and Love even managed earlier to work around ANOTHER clown car major penalty by Jenkins. I don't think LaFleur did him any favors by trying to go deep right after Watson's 7 point disaster. He should have settled for better field goal position imo. He had time for two quick passes to get closer and give McManus a reasonably good shot at 3.

Samuels is weak upstairs.

That was a sweet pass to Watson, drop or not. And for the most part, Love seemed to have much of his command back versus the first half of the season. He's been out or playing hurt for a long time. He seems a lot healthier now.

The game yesterday wasn't as perfect as the score would indicate, but it was still a big step forward. They will almost certainly be a #5 or #6 wild card team. I don't see any scenarios where they get ahead of the Lions. They have a reasonably good shot at jumping ahead of the queens.

As an aside, the playoffs look to be the Lions - and then everyone else a distant second. The Lions, barring any more major injuries, seem to have destiny, and a lot of talent, on their side. A lot of things can change, but until they do, this is the Lions' year.

He's older, slower (OK that called-back kickoff return was solid) and a far cry from the Swiss knife he had been. I'm a little surprised at how quickly he's regressed. For a number of years the guy was a real force. Not so much these days.

I was glad to see that Kraft got the ball a few times. He is quite the weapon.
He is really becoming a weapon, a guy who has to be accounted for by the opposing D. I noted on one replay that he chipped right after the snap, and then just slid left, caught a pass for a decent gain just short of a TD. He can do a lot of things very well.

Not many... Quay Walker, for saying "excuse me sir" and jumping out of the way for George Kittle to score an easy TD.
I have to be honest, I thought Quay played one of his better games. Led the team in tackles and should have had an INT. I don't blame defenders for dropping picks. He at least gave himself a shot at it by being in the right position.

Studs:
Jacobs with 106 yards and 3 TDs.
Defense with 3 takeaways and holding the 49ers to 44 rushing yards. Can't remember the last time they held someone to that low of rushing yards.
Duds:
The drops again. Watson's drop before the half and Doubs drop.

Pretty good game all around.
