If it comes that last game winning drive I hope it’s the offense that can get us to the SB, I just don’t have that much faith in the D when the games down to the wire, I’ll eat these words and apologize to everyone if it happens that I am wrong

That d-bag Arians is playing mind games..so he is eligible to return..does not mean he will play or even be ready to play.
I hope this defense destroys that team..every time a call doesn't go his way he whines about it til the refs give in. They also were the most penalized team in the league until our game..yet somehow they had zero penalties in that game.
Mahonnes mom said the guy that tackled her son for a concussion should have been kicked out the game, whinning is served w/o cheese in KC

Ugh same crap different season... facing the one team that Punished them in the regular season. Niners Seahawks Atlanta.. now Tampa bay. I won’t hold my breath on this one but history is not looking good here. I hope to god they play good but Tom just don’t lose.. Green Bay might score a few more points than last time. 43-16 Tampa. Go on let me have it guys
I tend to agree. The Packers just don’t match up well with the Bucs. Brady will pick our weak front 7 apart.

In 2014 the Pack lost to Seattle in the regular season and NFCCG.
In 2016 we lost to Atlanta in the regular season and NFCCG.
In 2019 we were destroyed by SF in the regular season and NFCCG.
See a pattern here?
This year we were destroyed by TB in the regular season......and guess who we play in the NFCCG?

How do some of you get any enjoyment out of watching the Packers? Do you walk around in the offseason believing a meteor is going to strike you to fill the void of doom and gloom?

I have a varying opinion of this game. Pettine CANNOT and SHOULD NOT play ZONE against Brady - that is a recipe for disaster. Why? That is playing right into their hands. He can carve any defense that sits back, Brady is a MASTER at it. Inside pressure and hands and bodies bearing down on Brady is the winning idea. Kevin King better pull up his bootstraps and cover, too.

The Packer offense needs to key between the hashes. Linsley/Jenkins/Patrick need to open the middle up and win inside. Dillon not being in the lineup is going to hamper this. Jones/Williams will not get outside on this D, as this is where TB excels at stopping the run.

The defense has to stop TB from running, period. If they do, the chances of beating Tampa rise substantially. Momentum is on green and gold's side right now. Our oline needs to pile drive SUH and JPP and I think the game is won.

My only concern is the grave consequences that will happen if Brady is given time due to a gutless Defensive Coordinator that rides the coat tails of a great offense.

Well, I would certainly say I'm completely against the snoopes take on things as I feel somehow this year we finally got things in order to get back to the SB.

Now, to be fair I do see where some concern is warranted. I'll be honest and say yes, I did want the Saints to win yesterday. I'm sure many other people did too and probably felt we'd matchup better against them considering our offense did have more success against their defense than the Bucs.

And I'll even say considering we're now going to be playing in the 4th of the last 7 NFCCGs, simply getting there is no longer acceptable. If we don't win this one ... I'm all for sending Pettine and Mennenga packing. The big wall has gotta get knocked down at some point before Rodgers retires.

BUT

I do think our chances of winning this nfccg are still better than what they were in the last 3 for a few reasons.

1. Our game back in October turned ugly because of those two interceptions Rodgers threw. I doubt he's going to make those kinds of bad decisions again in this one.

2. I could end up jinxing this and lord I hope not, but it does feel like our defense including the run defense has been playing better as of late than we were back then. If we can get Brady off the spot and not allow Fournette or Jones to do any real damage out there, I think we win.

3. While we haven't been able to exact retribution in our last 3 rematch nfccg's, we didn't get to play any of those here at Lambeau Field. Now I get it ... the whole debate about how effective Lambeau Field is during the playoffs or what not. Make no mistake ... having home field alone cold weather or no does not make us the better team. We still gotta outplan and outplay these guys.

But over the last 20 years, the home team in the nfccg has won 65% of the time. That's significant enough for me to say it definitely can matter.

I certainly do consider what could have been had we played SEA, ATL, and SF at home. Beating ATL and SF even at home in those years would have been tough sells for sure considering our injury depleted secondary trying to cover all the Falcons' weapons out there, and our upstart LaFleur team and run defense problems likely not disappearing vs SF even if we did get them here. But there is just no doubt in my mind we would have beaten SEA back in 2014 if they had had to come here.

TB may not be 2014 SEA, but I definitely have a much better feeling about the game as I would have if we had been able to drag the Seahawks butts over here. Yeah, if we had to go back to Tampa again, I'd hate our chances. But up here with an extra day to be ready and no travel needed, I think we're going to be ready for them.

Just like how Brady tore that zone up last time, right?

That team is not unbeatable!! Their special teams are also awful! I think the weather does favor us. How many guys on their team have tried to catch a frozen brick of a football? Had to kick one? It's gonna be 20's and snow. Maybe a little windy. Its about 26 and windy now, feels about 10. They live in warm climate. It will affect some of them.

Do not underestimate the role of the officials in this game. The NFL just might want Mahomes vs Brady in the Super Bowl for the ratings. Good vs Evil. Young Bull vs Old Bull. People tuning in hoping to see Brady lose.

I mean ...Brady did fine against us last time. Not really sure where you're going with this. Game script didn't really dictate the need for Tampa to upload a passing attack.

In any event, I certainly hope we don't have to count on anything from the first game repeating itself.

Weird theory...I think the NFL would be perfectly happy with a Rodgers/Mahomes Super Bowl. Don't you think they would have preferred that last year over Mahomes/Jimmy G?

Green Bay should have won that game kicking field goals didn’t help.. but no excuses for the last 5 mins of that game. No one wants to get into that lol

Eh. 62% completion rate, 6 yards per attempt, Brady did the very bare minimum. He just didn’t turn the ball over.

We lost that game because Rodgers and the OL were awful. The chances of those two things happening again are pretty slim.

In the last Super Bowl that ended with a 5, we beat the Bears to advance to the Super Bowl. What number does this Super Bowl end with?

The last time the Bucs came to Green Bay in the playoffs we beat them handily.

Brady has never beaten Aaron Rodgers at Lambeau Field. See a pattern here?

These are all equally relevant to the points you made.

It's true that we lost all three of those championship games against teams who beat us during the regular season, but there are several big differences between those games and this one.

1. We were objectively an inferior team in 2016 and 2019. Look at any team statistic. Atlanta and San Francisco were just much better squads. It wasn't even close honestly. I think our 2014 team was a real Super Bowl contender, but I would still have given the Seattle a narrow edge as the better team. And even so, it took a bizarre collapse for us to lose that NFCCG. Relatedly, just take a look at the lines in those games. We were underdogs by 8.5 in '14, 6.5 in '16, and 8 in '19. Few people thought we would win those games because we weren't the better team. This time around, I think most observers would say that we have a slight edge on Tampa, though that's debatable. Either way, we're favored by 3.5 points.

2. All three of those games were on the road. Huge difference.

As to your point about the officials, there just isn't any truth to that at all. There is going to be a great storyline for the NFL no matter which teams win. Packers and Chiefs will be the State Farm Bowl with the perhaps the two most talented QBs ever facing off. The Bills are an inspiring story about a great football town finally having a winner. The refs are not intentionally going to give the games to Brady and Mahomes.

If your going to go conspiracy theory on this sorry but the NFL is going to want Mahomes/Rodgers SB.

Really as long as the Chiefs make it the NFL will be happy with whoever comes out the NFC though.

A note on Pettine's defense. It seems that during this winning streak, his strategy has been to give up short passes and make the opponent work their way down the field slowly. Although it's not fun to watch, I think it's worked well. Since our first win over the Bears, opposing QBs have have had:

6.2 yards per passing attempt
62.5 completion percentage

Over the course of the full season, giving up 6.2 yards per passing attempt would be the best in the NFL. And a 62.5 completion percentage against would be 4th in the NFL. It's not pretty, but Pettine's strategy has been effective. And during this winning streak, our D has only given up 18.4 points on average. Obviously Brady is far superior to any of the QBs we've faced recently, so we'll have to see how it plays out on Sunday.
