Do you realize how much your credibility drops when you post a Quantrell Bishop video? This is the same dude that was "calling for Dorsey's head" a 5 months ago, same dude that thought "DeShone Kizer was a future Hall of Famer...Baker Mayfield is a midget, Josh Gordon is the best WR in Football".......if he doesn't have a heart attack between now and the end of the 2019 season, wait for his rants on every player, coach, etc. that he is so "high" on.

Doesn't it make sense? Brandon overreacts to everything and contradicts himself constantly with bad takes.

I thought that reaction video was hilarious. The dude seemed like he was about to have a freaking breakdown. XD
Oh no doubt Bishop is funny as hell, I love watching his videos for entertainment. Honestly, I think that is his angle. But the sh*t that comes out of his mouth is just so off the wall and usually way off target, that if you are going to use him as "evidence" to try and make a point, good luck. Might as well parade a talking chimp in front of the camera, I would be more likely to believe what he had to say.

Dorsey is a wizard for sure. I'm a little jealous.

It's not really being a Wizard to give a huge haul for a WR on the trading block or giving an aging Saftey comming off injury 14 million a year.

In 2 years the Browns went from

DeShone Kizer, Isaiah Crowell, Corey Coleman and Kenny Britt

to

Baker Mayfield, Nick Chubb, Kareem Hunt, OBJ, Jarvis Landry, and David Njoku

Their defense is on the right track too.

He's been very impressive as a GM.

True but some of that was just a given. He had tons of pick and tons of cap.
Mayfield is an impressive move for sure if he pans out. He wasnt the pick many would have made.
Hunt is hard to call impressive. Dorsey signed a guy who brutally attacked a woman. Terrible. This board didnt want Antonio Brown because of his character. Hunt's issue is far, far bigger.

Overall he has done a really nice job but he was also dealt a great hand. A ton of picks and a ton of cap. He has used it well in numerous places and has taken calculated risks

But my long term questions is does he look like a genius longer than Schneider in Seattle. Schneider looked great when Wilson was cheap. Once he had to pay him then it wasnt as pretty. Will Cleveland be the same until having to pay Mayfield?

Added TE Demetrius Harris as well. Dude is huge, something in the likes of 6'7". Not the greatest catcher of the ball, but great blocking. But certainly can be just another tool for Baker. Cleveland taking advantage of the Steelers disarray, Ravens shipping their defense out of town and the Bengals refusing to rebuild.

Don't most teams try to strike deals when they're paying their stud QBs peanuts? Especially when you don't get them in the first round, someone like Dak, Wilson. Rams are doing it, Browns, Texans. Bears are attempting to, no way they keep Mack, Smith, Floyd, Tervathan as soon as Mitch wants his money. And in turn, hope the veterans they sign to those big deals, pan out, and as they draft their replacements they learn from them and turn into the next JJ Watt, Suh, Mack, etc etc.

I dont think the Packers ever got that luxury because of Favre.

More like the Packers didn't have that luxury because of Rodgers being drafted while Favre was still QB. ;)

However, they had it early on with Favre. Until July 25, 1997, the Packers had Favre on a cheap contract. Then they signed him to a league record seven-year contract worth $47.25 million, including a $12 million signing bonus. Ever since then, yes, they have had big QB contracts.

Amazing how contract $$'s have changed over the last 20+ years. I think I was paying about the same for a gallon of gas back then as I am now. :coffee:

Useing high draft picks and spending massive amounts of cap space that were both there when he showed up isn't some magical formula

I like Dorsey but niether ot those things is some marvelous feat

Really wanted Earl on the Packers, but oh well.
I think we got the better deal with Amos.

Safety market 2019:
  • Landon Collins: 6yrs, $84M
  • Earl Thomas: 4yrs, $55M
  • Tyrann Mathieu: 3yrs, $42M
  • Lamarcus Joyner: 4yrs, $42M
  • Adrian Amos: 4yrs, $37M
  • Tashaun Gipson: 3yrs, $22M
  • Eric Reid: 3yrs, $24M
  • Eric Weddle: 2yrs, $12.5M
  • Kenny Vaccaro: 4yrs, $26M

Cole Beasley signs with Buffalo on a 4 year $29 million with $17 million coming in the first two seasons. Yeah I am SO glad we were not stupid enough to get this guy. Freaking good luck Buffalo.

This could be someone the packers look at. Not sure what he is looking at $ wise, but he is a stud ILB. Great in coverage.
If we cant get a deal done with Breeland, this is where his offered cap space should go to as I feel these guys will get similar $/year

Can't remember which thread or who I was conversing with on the subject matter of "Do players prefer not signing with the Packers because of the City?"

While this article is by no means scientific or can it be held to be the way all players (their agents) think, it was a bit eye opening for me. Green Bay isn't in the bottom 5, but they definitely aren't in the top 5.

But I do kind of draw from it that it is less the City, than the organization itself, that makes some players think about where they will sign if contract values are pretty equal.
