I usually try and pick three of each, but man, that might be tricky.

Studs:
- Jacobs until he mysteriously got shut down (was he hurt?)
- Reed was pretty good
- Wilson and Brooks looked solid to fill out the RB room (I’m having to reach)

Duds:
- Love; injury is not an excuse for defaulting to hero-ball and forcing terrible decisions
- LaFleur, for yet again looking like he failed to adequately prepare his team and for yet again failing to instill any semblance of discipline
- drops, penalties, and other unforced errors continue to be a HUGE problem in virtually every stage of the game

Studs:
1. Josh Jacobs, 89 yds rushing in the 1st half on 10 carries.... disappointed he only got 3 carries for 6 yds in the 2nd half.
2. Jayden Reed, 5 rec 113 yds on 6 targets WITH NO DROPS
3. ????
Duds:
1. Penalties, feels like a broken record every week, but it's a problem... every week.
2. Love and the interception, just throw the ball out of bounds. Almost had another disastrous play late in the game
3. MLF, you are the MAN in charge, you have to get this undisciplined play fixed. I also feel you took a big chance with Love's injury today, when he could have up to a 3 week break to get as healthy as possible for the 2nd half of the season. If any game was set up for a Willis start, this was it. Because the game plan should have been run, run, run all day with the bad weather.

HM:
Jordan Morgan making his 1st NFL start. He did have 1 holding penalty, but overall looked like he can definitely play either G position.

The botched snaps, the penalties on the offense, the drops, and going for long shots on a windy, torrential instead of trying to move the chains.

They took Jacobs out after his long run for the next 3 plays to catch a breather and hence the drive stalled.

Stud. Jacobs, Reed, Watson was really trying and made a couple of good catches. Can't really hold that deep one against him.
Dud. Penalties, defensive line/linebackers (except McDuffie), Jenkins, probably 21, Wicks, Love (he has to play smart and not panic or he'll never be a great QB)

I said this a couple of weeks ago, but Love needs to cut down on the interceptions. What he’s doing now isn’t sustainable with winning.
I just got home from a weeklong contest and convention so I didn't get to see the game (it looks like I didn't miss much). How many interceptions did Love throw? This is becoming very concerning.

I thought about Watson for my 3rd stud, he seems to be getting more involved in the passing game, and his blocking has been fairly elite for the WR position. He did miss judge that deep ball in the 4th quarter.... that could have been a big play, when they really needed one.

A team that is very undisciplined (penalties are killing drives every game); A QB who is injured, resulting in bad passes, has little understanding of what to do under pressure and when he throws seems to want to throw the ball as hard as possible regardless of the situation. Some of his drops were very fast/hard throws in conditions that called for "taking a little off". This guy continues to play like a rookie not like a 5th year guy and certainly not like a $50M/year QB. Receivers dropping passes does not help, a Defense that was and is porous against the run and misses way too many tackles. An OL that is weak pretty much across the entire line, being undisciplined does not help. The 6 wins are in the books with some smoke and mirrors and luck. Next 4 are tough and could see GB lose as many as 3 of the next 4.... play calling is also suspect. overall, just not a good enough team this year, too many holes, too many mistakes, too many injuries and weaknesses.

Stud. Only one. Jacobs. Killed it 1st half and then play calling disappeared him.

Dud - MLF. Watched the post game media and was exactly what I expected. Paraphrase- Love tried to make a play, he's a competitor, blah blah. That pick six was stupid - second one this year - and changed the trajectory of the game. Love has to be held to account. Bunch of drops - not discounting that. But the marquis player cannot kill an otherwise good offensive effort by being stupid. Other dud - STUPID penalties. Connecting theme - stupidity, falls to coaching.

Love in post game media saying too many drops. That's true, but he single handedly killed game with that pick 6. "Gotta work through mistakes". "Put the ball in harm's way while trying to make a play". Too much criticism? I don't think so. That was super dumb. You're supposed to be the cog of the wheel.

The worst was and ill advised pic 6, bad snaps didn’t help either, horrible performance

This was one of the more disappointing games I’ve watched this season. The score didn’t reflect the beatdown. Had the Lions really wanted to they could’ve pressed for more points and likely had them.

It was a mistake starting Love. I was fully prepared to admit I was wrong, but I wasn’t. I’m about 75% sure had we played Malik and committed to running the ball 1:1 we stay within 1 score into the 4th quarter with a 50/50 chance of winning. This home game and weather was the PERFECT setup to run and what did we do? repeated what every other losing team had to the Lions this year. It was EXACTLY the formula used by Detroit in every game to embarrass opponents and we even encouraged it. Exactly their formula. Lower yards, higher efficiency short passing win turnover battle. Control the LOS running. Trifecta.
Everything I would’ve said we needed we did the exact opposite.
Do NOT abandon the Running game
Use Malik to support that Running attack
No forcing an INT
Play extra discipined.

We thought we’d outsmart a well disciplined Team, but in process embarrassed ourselves and revealed we aren’t very well coached at all.

Dud: Matt and Staff
Staff putting our injured QB in harms way. I can only pray Love didn’t incur any setback. The injury to insult gets a double F- Worst decision I’ve seen our Coaching staff make to date. I’m normally positive. The only thing I’m positive on today is the entirety of this showing worries me FAR past an awful looking embarrassing loss.

We just went backwards to a point I hope we can erase everything we were thinking in this one. It was bad coaching and bad decision making on an entirely new level.

Just one, but it was an atrocious pick-six and there easily could have been others. He forces the ball into traffic at times when he just needs to throw it away.

To beat the Lions you have to play a near perfect game. They played flawless except for a few bad penalties and we did not oblige. When you have a clime like today you have to adjust the offensive game plan. The Lions did. They did not take 40 or 50 yard shots into coverage. Normally, the Lions run Gibbs wide. With the wet conditions they ran inside the tackles and let the backs show their talent. The Packers did not. When you cross midfield the goal is to move the chains. Use a lot of high percentage plays particularly in this weather.

Terry Bradshaw had a name for this (something silly) but it's basically the idea that when some QBs get paid the big bucks, they feel like they have to make big plays every snap and they get themselves in trouble trying to make things happen because they're trying to "over-earn" their paychecks instead of simply continuing doing the things that got them there. Maybe a visit with the team shrink over the bye is in order. It's okay to not be perfect, but NOT okay to make dumb plays by trying to make something out of nothing.

Brady was critical not only of Love's judgment but MLF's play sequences. It was like Coaching 101. " Down and distance, weather conditions, the score, the clock. " I criticized MM in Atlanta today but MLF did not have a leg on him.
