We also didn't discuss penalties. I didn't get into that in the defensive evaluation simply because I could not find a breakdown of offensive vs. defensive. Penalties are typically omitted in statisical overviews of team performance. The Packers are averaging 8.2 per game (29th.) and 11.5 on the road vs. the Rams 5.6 per game (4th.) and 4.3 at home. If that kind of home-away spread on an admittedly limited sample were to hold, that spells trouble.

The Packers have been called for 24 penalties on offense as well as 16 on defense. On the other hand the Rams are way more disciplined on offense (13) while having received a similar amount of flags on defense (14).

While I don’t have any direct statistical info on this. Teams that are undefeated at this point in the season seem to certainly be prone to letting their guard down a bit. It’s very difficult for an undefeated team to hold it all together each week vs. an above average squad to “put one together”.

I think the key to this game is controlling the clock, field position and finishing drives with points. ST plays a large role in that. GB has the personnel to bring an upset, we gotta play more inspired ball in all 3 phases from the 1st whistle. We’ve seen glimmers of one or two dimensional success recently..but it always seems to be 1 or 2 phases while thoe 3rd phase plays off kilter.

Let’s face it, GB is supposed to lose from nearly any Objective stance, regardless of our subjective opinions. I like being the underdog tho because it’s more rewarding playing a top notch opponent and having success against that opponent. That’s an indicator of improvement moving forward and a close, hard fought battle today would be welcomed. Hopefully we can turn that into a W but playing the Rams with some ferocity would both build fan confidence and do MM a solid.

If the Packers get blown out, as some are expecting, I fully expect this place to be lit up after the game, calling for MM's head on a platter.

We were winning with 5+min and had the ball. Good teams that are well coached find ways to finish drives but more importantly to finish important games. Our team seems to get complacent whenever we get a lead.

Once again our ST was **** poor. It was again the one phase I referred to above that clearly cost us another game. We had multiple chances to put this away and we played undisciplined football on ST.
We punted to our own 40? How does that happen?
Why does a guy who is not named Devin Hester field a kickoff in that scenario?! As I can hear my Old man saying.. This isn’t rocket science here!!

It’s not about individual performances it’s about playing as a unit which we do NOT do.
MM does get credit when he finishes but he should also be held accountable the same way when he doesn’t. This scene is all too familiar.
