Heck, if I was a Jets fan, I would want the #1 draft position and probably be hoping he misses the rest of his kicks.
I think their crosstown colleagues, the Giants, have that one wrapped up. They have a 2-game lead in the race for the bottom, and since 1 of their remaining games is against the Eagles, I don't see the Jets passing them. But there's a good chance they'll finish 4-13, considering the Bills are up next and Miami may possibly be playing for a postseason position. It could be a Top 5 pick when it all shakes out.

Love what we got with McManus. We’d be wise to go ahead and get him a multi-year deal pronto. I’d offer him top 10 Kicker $ if he proves worthy this Postseason. McManus has been like perfect in Playoffs thus far

Only 2 Kickers have a higher FG% than Brandon’s 93.3%. Plus a bonus 100% XPM %

The only thing we have not seen from McManus that would complete his Portfolio is a pair of 55+ type Kicks. I’d love to see his range in real time

Carlson missed 3 XPA so that erased a FG for me (3 pts) 80.0% Kicker. He does have a big leg (58 yarder)
McManus did hit a 55 yard FG against the Saints. That's always impressive in December in GB.

He sure looks like the answer at kicker for the next 5 years or so. Even his missed FG this year came in horrible conditions at Lambeau. Not an excuse. The guy is just good and reliable.

As for Carlson, yeah he has a huge leg. He also seems to have a chronic case of the yips. GB gave him every chance to prove himself. He didn't. I wonder how long he'll be in the NFL.
No fun being on a 4-11 team. I remember Ryan Longwell, who had a very good career in GB, had his off season in 2005 when we went 4-12. He left for Minnesota the following season.
And he was in MN for quite a while if I remember correctly. I don't remember him going 4-12. He was a good kicker for many years in GB.

The Giants biggest problem continues to be management. They lose Barkley and McKinney to FA and both guys are on pace for All Pro. The working conditions are important. The Jets have the same problem - actually worse.

That was Sherman's last year. We went with a different holder that year.

Greg Joseph just signed to Jet's PS ... my guess is Anders played his way off of another team :( .
I think I'd rather have a consistent Joseph with not a lot of range to Carlson or Narveson with a ton of range but no consistency. And both Carlson and Narveson would miss when there was little pressure. Just weird.

Anyway hats off to Gluten (again) from finding a gem in the dust bin. I'm sure there were a lot of other teams who would have benefitted from McManus, but Gluten did his homework and had the guts to pull the trigger. so far, so good.

Thanks milani. Mike Sherman? Was he coaching in 2005? I thought the Packers went from Holmgren to McCarthy to MLF. Now I'm not so sure about what happened after Holmgren and before M showed up.

Thanks HE. Yeah I knew he was up there for a while. Did he leave in FA or did he just want a change, or both? If the Packers had really wanted him they would have paid. Not sure when Crosby got drafted, but it seemed like he replaced Longwell.

Gluten additions of in-season Malik Willis and Brandon McNamath were brilliant moves. It displays to me that he’s an elite GM from watching the global aspects of shoring weaknesses of cutting bait with problem players.

I think where GB still excels is in team planning. Our FO is methodical about when to hold players out and bring them back into the fold. J’aire is a good example. I would’ve mistakenly brought him back already but patience is truly a virtue. I think we’ve been extra cautious with Musgrave, Lloyd and Alexander and it’s very deliberate. Our GM and HC have a very stellar plan for popping in extra talent to reach a pinnacle as Postseason starts.

Correct. And it helps that other players have stepped up. That gives the Packers the luxury of holding guys out of games where their presence probably isn't necessary. It also gives guys a chance to step up and prove themselves. Nixon, as an example, is playing better in the secondary. He's not a pro bowl guy as a corner, but he's smart and athletic enough to play well.

I would like to see JA and Evan Williams back for the game against the queens. It's an important game for momentum. They don't want to enter the playoffs having lost twice to the Lions and queens. JA also allows them to play more man, and they can put JA on Jefferson with McKinney, or maybe Williams, high. I don't know who Hafley would put on Addison and Hockenson. They have a lot of weapons.

He did very well in minihaha. We probably just didn't want to pay him what he was worth.

So far so good. Keep O line coming in the draft. Our backups are kind of scary. And we won't be able to pay everyone when their contracts come up. Yeah, same for all positions. I just think being able to run and also keeping Love healthy is too important to take big chances on longshots and development.

My boys! The Hanson Brothers. Carlson, in Slap Shot, was Dave Hanson, who hailed from Cumberland, WI. He was an "enforcer" out there, and a good one. He left a trail of broken noses, and bloody lips. That was a great movie. Loved it!
