Hey weeds where is Carlson now? Is he really with the Jets? That would be rich.Well looks like Carlson will be kicking for the Jets tomorrow.

He'll do great for the Jets, they rarely need someone making XP's!Well looks like Carlson will be kicking for the Jets tomorrow.
Silly stat. sample size of 11 where he missed two. Way too small of a sample size to mean much of anything. That being said, Im glad he is kickng elsewhere lol.Anders has to be, beyond a doubt, the worst Xtra Point kicker in NFL history. Anders career XP stats now sit at 43-50, 86%... while his career FG numbers are 38-44, 86.4%.

It is, but the point I was trying to make is last year he was brutal on extra points, missing 5.... this year he has missed 2 of 22 total kicks, both being extra points. An extra point is essentially a chip shot 33 yd FG, and missing 7 of 50 over the last 2 years, is inexcusable. I, like you, am glad he isn’t in GB anymore.Silly stat. sample size of 11 where he missed two. Way too small of a sample size to mean much of anything. I never doubted the strength of his leg. But his accuracy/consistency, or rather the lack of it, makes him a non-starter.Silly stat. sample size of 11 where he missed two. Way too small of a sample size to mean much of anything. That being said, Im glad he is kickng elsewhere lol.
And a PAT I believe.I just watched Anders miss another makeable FG. I couldn't help giggling at the sight of Rodgers on the sideline will Carlson missed.
We are so much better without them.
Amen to that EG.I just watched Anders miss another makeable FG. I couldn't help giggling at the sight of Rodgers on the sideline will Carlson missed.

McManus has been remarkably consistent. Granted he's been kicking in the NFL for 10 years. Kickers can have a long career. Hopefully his past problems are behind him and he stays in GB for a while. I trust Gluten with the decision to bring him on.I was surprised at his actual statistics since he's been with the Jets. Not that I'm not happier the way things are.
And it is not like we expect him to kick 60 yarders like Aubrey or some of the boomers in the league. Just be consistent on the very makeable kicks. And of all the flaws in Dallas this season place kicking is not one of them. Stop to think that if Aubrey misses one of those long shots last night the Bucs win the game.McManus has been remarkably consistent. Granted he's been kicking in the NFL for 10 years. Good point milani. There wasn't an expectation that Crosby could hit, consistently, from 50 yards plus. And it is not like we expect him to kick 60 yarders like Aubrey or some of the boomers in the league. That gimme really hurt.Good point milani. There wasn't an expectation that Crosby could hit, consistently, from 50 yards plus.
And while others disagree, I thought he was very consistent from inside 50. Stats may not bear that out, but I don't remember praying every time he came out to try a FG from the 50 in.
And that seems to be McManus' style, that is, he's reliable from the 50 in. And that's fine. There are very few guys who consistently hit FGs over 50 yards - again just a gut feel.
So as the Packers head into the playoffs, it's good to have a kicker like McManus. I'm still thinking of that gimme that Carlson shanked against the Niners in the playoffs.
Yeah the Niners just have some weird hold over the Packers. That gimme really hurt.
Skinny Elvis didn't invent rock & roll, but he did bring it to the world's attention. Later on, Fat Elvis introduced the rest of the world to fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches.I guess like Skinny Elvis, Rodgers has morphed into a different person. I liked Skinny Elvis better too.
Nowadays, kicking from 50+ isn't much of a necessity. Teams are much more likely to go for it from that distance, instead of trying the FG.Good point milani. There wasn't an expectation that Crosby could hit, consistently, from 50 yards plus.

That's true. Seems like anything from 1 to 4 yards needed on 4th down - teams will go for it.Nowadays, kicking from 50+ isn't much of a necessity. Teams are much more likely to go for it from that distance, instead of trying the FG.
Just having some consistency and stability feels like a big luxury, after what we've been through. The only thing we have not seen from McManus that would complete his Portfolio is a pair of 55+ type Kicks. I’d love to see his range in real time
Where are they getting that "11 for 11" crap? He's 13 for 15, and his NFL career stats are 40 for 48, and 83.3%. If you put the guy in a broom closet with a football and tell him to kick it against one of the walls 11 times, he'd find a way to miss the walls at least 3 out of 11 kicks.Anders has to be, beyond a doubt, the worst Xtra Point kicker in NFL history. Especially the better teams. That's true. Seems like anything from 1 to 4 yards needed on 4th down - teams will go for it.
He was 84.3% inside 50, and 55.3% beyond. But even once you got beyond 40 yards, he was petty iffy - 74.3 between 40 and 50.And while others disagree, I thought he was very consistent from inside 50. Only 2 Kickers have a higher FG% than Brandon’s 93.3%. Plus a bonus 100% XPM %
No fun being on a 4-11 team. I remember Ryan Longwell, who had a very good career in GB, had his off season in 2005 when we went 4-12. He left for Minnesota the following season.I am glad to see that Anders is still employed, but I will take McManus any day, and game and any kick over Anders. I agree with those who think that the Packers need to get him signed long term and do it now!
Nothing against Anders, but kicking for the 4-11 Jets, doesn't really put much pressure on a kicker. Heck, if I was a Jets fan, I would want the #1 draft position and probably be hoping he misses the rest of his kicks.
