Holy Christmas!!! 32 year old Von Miller to Buffalo on a 6yr/$120mil deal!! That sets the bar pretty F'ing high for Rashaan Gary negotiations. :(

Just saw this is only the 6th highest Edge Rusher contract...with TJ Watts $28mil/yr at the top.

Interesting to note, on this particular list of the "top FA's"....you have to jump all the way down to #22 (Chavarius Ward) to find a player that went from an AFC team to an NFC team. As a matter of fact, the previous guys on the list mostly moved from the NFC to the AFC, resigned with the same team or 1 guy, Haason Red****, switched teams in the NFC.

What does that mean? Well its potentially good news for the Packers, a few less impact players in the NFC.

I posted yesterday that Joe Buck and Troy Aikman were headed to ESPN to do Monday night games. Aikman was a FA, but Buck had 1 more year on his contract with FOX. ESPN "traded" the rights to do the ND VS OSU Football game this fall to FOX to get them to let Buck out of his contract.

Buck signed a 5 year deal with ESPN, reportedly worth between $60 million and $75 million.

What did Aikman get for signing with ESPN? $90 Million for a 5 year deal.

Crazy, Crazy Money! Waiting for the argument that "they deserve that much, because the Networks make so much and Buck and Aikman could permanently lose their voices and never make another dime." :coffee:

Looks like Casey is headed to Atlanta.

Is it just me or does it seem that teams aren't willing to shell out as much to FA CB's these days. Seems like a few years ago, they were the hot ticket, this season, WR's have become that.

CB is very much zero middle ground type contracts usually IMO. TOP flight and then regular shelves....he is also getting up there age wise.

Sneaky guy now that we have money to bring in besides Landry at WR is WR from KC Demarcus RObinson....he has consistently put up solid numbers, with over 690 yards three straight years (419 and 586 the two years before that)...3,3,4,4 in TDs the last four with solid catch percentage.

He isn't a guy I'm bringing in as our #1 but I do like him in house.

Unfortunately he's a 4.59 40 guy...whoever we get as our #2 (or draft pick) should be a 4.3 burner.

I've explained this before time and time again but whatever it's futile. Give me guys that get open with speed or route running or burst I don't care just do it. Adams was far from a burner and if you think you're bring Demarco in to be a main or even possibly the main #2 it simply isn't the point.

He is a highly productive guy that has been serving as arguably the fourth option on that team and producing - if nothing in FA is happening with the top top guys, he is the perfect guy to give a call to and bring in possibly.

A WR I really like is Treylon Burks out of Arkansas. People are saying his 40 time of 4.55 was too slow, but at 6'2 225 lbs and his power, I really like him. Most tapes are impressive, but his was pretty jaw dropping. He looks strong, can high point a ball and out muscle defenders.

I think his "poor" combine could drop him to the Packers at 28.

He looks plenty fast. I noticed some of the more muscular guys transfer that speed better into pads. Whereas some guys like Kevin King have an edge in shorts but don’t have conversion power into pads.
That’s partly where Davante was, good pad to speed conversion. Burks has that look in his film. Just make sure he’s not related to Oren :whistling:

I’d really prefer to use the earlier Day 1 selection on Defense. I’d use #28 in some capacity if the right WR slips a little. Otherwise id go get a solid FA Wideout + use a Round 2 selection at WR. Maybe even double down with another earlier day 3 WR.

Might might even Tyni it and trade back from #28 inside top 33-40 and get our guy.

No lie trading back off of 28 could net some incredible load if a QB hungry team really wants that fifth year option. BUT weak QB field

That would make draft weekend fun. We're already sitting on 11 picks now.

I was thinking this same thing... Trade #28 to Indy for #42, #82 & for the hell of it ask for #216 as well. Don't think we need 13 picks, so package-up a couple and move up to get a stud who inexplicably slides too low.

I definitely expect Gute to maneuver around on draft day. He also may use some of those picks between now and the draft to try and get a decent player. It sounds like the Rams are shopping Robert Woods. Depending on his ACL recovery time, I would look at him. His contract numbers are extremely favorable ($10M this year, 13.75 next) and I doubt the Rams get that much for him due to the ACL.

Yea, just for some perspective, Davante ran a 4.56 at the combine.

If the Texans can't rebuild and be dominant by 2024 some front office personnel should not only be fired but publicly executed using rubber hoses!!

Sounds like Mike Lynn's trade for Herschel Walker. Shame on Cleveland for being so foolish.
