Lucas Patrick to Bears - reporting $8M for two years...higher than Jamaal Williams contract so "may" get us a 7th comp back depending on other contracts and what qualifying guys we add (if any able in cap issue).

Browns are releasing TE Austin Hooper. That would be a guy I would look into if I was Gute. Not sure how he fits into MLF's scheme though.

I think I remember them being in on Hooper when he hit the market.

We will see where the price point is on him. He's had back to back years of paltry production.

7th highest currently among kickers
Maybe they are working on a restructure with him. His roster bonuses are per game, so the only thing that kicks in between now and Sept. is his $500K workout bonus.

I hope they restructure him, but maybe they are content just to pay the $500K and have a kicking competition this summer.

Hooper is a no purely from fiscal standpoint.
As we have seen with quite a few contracts, the Packers are going to be able to sign a few free agents, but will have to structure their contracts for a small cap hit in 2022.

Sounds like both the Rams and the Bucs are all in for 2022, are the Packers?

Um....with all the pushing we've done on Rodgers, tagging Adams and extending Campbell and Preston we could do zero else and the answering is a yes. We will see some small other moves to make that a resounding yes, but still yes.

Rumor has it, they just restructured the ball boy and picked up an extra 50 cents in cap money. :coffee:

Bout damn time, that fool always puts the ball into the balldry bag with his right hand and never his left...vastly too committed to one approach which shows no ability for growth.

9 teams have not yet agreed to a deal with an outside free agent so far: Cardinals, Commanders, Cowboys, Falcons, Packers, Patriots, Rams, Saints, Seahawks. Their focus has been on in-house retention up to this point. Plenty of value will be available in Wave 2.

I have a feeling he isn't going to be missed. He never impressed me.

It instantly makes our special teams weaker - that was his one bright spot, and was a rare good piece to our coverage units that sucked.

He was a good special teams player, but sucked at playing LB. I know you need good special teams players, but with a new ST coach and hopefully an improved coverage team, Burks may not be missed.

Sounds like his contract with the 49'ers is a 2 year @$2.5M per year. Im fine with the Packers not paying that.

Washington shops Matt Ioannidis and can't find any takers, so they cut him. I like this guy, but not sure how much he wants.

Only 28 and 71D (spotract source) and last contract was a three year for just over $7M/Yr

Only played on 54.8% of the snaps last year posting 38 tackles and 2.5 sacks. PFF grade of 65.4 is not terrible at all and his 305 pound frame and skills IMO would be worth figuring out interest and how much it would take. He could be set for a preferred one year prove deal like Devondre last year and try and prove worth a two or three before hitting 30 years of age.

Last contract averaged $7.25Mil/yr and he just turned 28 yrs. old. Would be a top-10 3-4 DE or 3 tech DT except tends to miss a decent amount of tackles. Pretty sure he's head & shoulders above Lowry & Lancaster, but probably out of our reach $$$.

Absolutely IMO not better bet than Lowry at all.

All I know is that the Packers need help on the DL, I would put it as their weakest position on defense. They might be trying to draft that help, but it never hurts to have good depth.

Agree...yet some here are saying repeatedly to cut Lowry LOL

My not better than Lowry comment was more meant I don't feel he is, not that I wouldn't give his phone a jingle for sure would.
