What should we expect from this season?

No true Packers fan should be wanting them to lose just to get a higher draft pick.

We all like to sit here and dream up solutions which is nothing more than discussion since none of us has any insights to the inner workings of the Packers office.
"Get rid of the coach! Cut that player! Bring in this player!" are all the cries of us frustrated and impatient fans who want a quick fix to an ongoing problem.
I feel the pain. I really do.
But I don't know what the solution really is and I don't think anyone else does either.
I mean Capers and TT went after years of crying out for them to be fired and look at where we are compared to years past.

Perhaps just sit back and enjoy individual games as just that. Individual games. Watch just to root for the Packers. Whatever happens happens.

As with every game for some time now, I'll DVR it and, should they do well, watch it in 1/3 the time and 100% less frustration.
Wow. I could never do that. There’s nothing I hate more than not being in front of the TV when the Packers are on.

If we make the playoffs, I feel like going all the way wouldn't be completely out of the question. but that's a big if

Ah yes, the weekly angst thread. Where the pessimists and optimists and realists and grouches all try to convince one another that their view of the team is the correct one.

Just making the playoffs? Deep run? Barely miss out and get draft picks? I feel stuck in football purgatory. Barely making the playoffs each year, and getting bounced in the 1st or 2nd game and missing out on draft picks in the process. I would love to see us in the post season, but this early exit stuff hurts us.

The Packers performance against the Rams was promising even if they ended up losing. The team has a tough remaining schedule but if they qualify for the playoffs Sunday's game should work as evidence that anything's possible.

And before you say "Rodgers will shred that terrible Pats D", how'd he do at home against the 49ers? How'd he do against that beat up Rams D?

Do you realize it's the NFL we're talking about??? Other teams are pretty good as well and the Packers managed to average 30 points in those games.

I agree the offense has some room for improvement but you have to realize that we're not talking about an SEC team playing an FCS opponent.

Here is a more refined question. Knowing how this season has gone and what our roster looks like, do you even want to reach the post season this year?

Of course I want the Packers to win every single game.

Ya, but since we're so spread out, talking about the weather really isn't as pertinent.

As of now the teams who have better record than us are:

Rams
Saints
.
Bears
Vikings
.
Seahawks
Eagles
Redskins
Panthers

We still have to play Seahawks, Vikings, Bears and Lions plus the Falcons in our conference. The way I see this is

- Seahawks, Bears and Vikings are must win. They are winnable games tbh.
- Falcons should be tough but both are home games so I give us the edge.
- Cardinals should be in the bag

- Pats and Dolphins should be tough but I reckon are winnable or at best 50/50.
- Jets and Cardinals should be in the bag.

Not the Rams, but the Redskins loss might be more crucial in big picture, I reckon.

Probably the wrong game to be expecting a win. Brady will shred this D (Which still gave up 29 points btw). And before you say "Rodgers will shred that terrible Pats D", how'd he do at home against the 49ers? How'd he do against that beat up Rams D?

The defense will do okay against average QB's. Brady is anything but. This is a bad franchise nearing a dark future.
I like the Packers defense more than the Patriots defense. I was more scared of the Rams than I am of the Patriots this season. The Packers showed they can hang with what has been the best team in the NFC this season, on the road. I would say that's a great sign. It's too bad they couldn't get the W, but I expect a W in New England.

I honestly believe we should tank. Unless Gute can make a big Trade Deadline Trade... There's needs at OL on the Right Side, possibly a "burnet" at WR unless Kumerow can come in. We need some OLBers BADLY and a SS

This team just isn't any good, hasn't been since 2014 really. I just don't feel "confident" in them. Sure having AR helps, but it's SOOOO MUCH "do or die" with him. I mean this is a 3 win team without him LOL. It's not even a .500 team.

Although they are still to be respected, the Patriots aren't what they used to be.

keep expectations low...that way you won't be disappointed. they've only played two complete games this season (buf and lar). too inconsistent to make the playoffs. now...if they can get consistent quickly a wildcard spot isn't out of the question. beyond that...

They are half a game back in the division. Wildcard won't be needed.

I'd like to field responses to this comment.

No.
Yeah I mean I don’t think any real Packer fan can claim to want the team to tank. We have different opinions here, but I’m confident that every real Packer fan wants the team to win every week.

I’ve made no secret that I’d like a change at HC, and I think anything short of a SB appearance will make that a reality. BUT, I would much rather see them win the SB even if that means MM sticks around. Problem is, I have a hard time seeing them winning the SB again with him at the helm, this year or any future year. His ideas, once novel, are dated and/or predictable, and he functions as an OC, not a true HC. Watch BB during a Pats game. He’s watching the whole game, taking notes to make adjustments. Like almost every other team, BB has an OC and DC that he trusts to make the play calls. MM can’t see the forest for the trees.

There's absolutely no reason for the Packers to tank. Ever. But especially not when trailing the division leading Bears by only half a game.

While the team definitely needs improvement at edge rusher and safety it seems they should be fine at wide receiver moving forward.

First, Snatch is a great movie. Cult classic. Second, I honestly think if Green Bay wins Sunday night in Foxboro, that momentum will propel them in the right direction. I think the loss to LA last week, was a sort of awakening.

We would've beaten a undefeated NFC juggernaut, if not for selfish hero ball.

Even if they lose to the Patriots, Green Bay can win the next three games. Dolphins @ Lambeau, a weaker Seattle squad (although CenturyLink Field is tough) and finally the Vikings who could actually loose at the Lions and Bears respectively.

Either way, going at least .500 til Week 11 is a possibility. Plus, our division rivals cannibalize each other, setting Green Bay up for the home stretch.

As I've stated before, the must-win game is at Minnesota. But don't discount Seattle. They're a lot better than people thought they would be so far this season.
