I hope Love plays completely lights out Sunday and puts all the quarterback talk to rest.

Yeah, maybe not, but you never know...
If not. Aaron will be smiling like a Cheshire cat and saying to himself "see what life is going to be like without me."

Rodgers tested positive for COVID-19 and will not play on Sunday per Tom Pelissero.

Jordan Love put in a tough spot against Patrick Mahomes and one of the best home field advantages in the NFL.
Chiefs are 2-2 at home this year. And luckily he doesn't actually play against Mahomes. He'll play against one of the worst defenses in football.

Again, I think we better than a puncher's chance. The key is going to be mistakes. Limit ours, force them into a couple and we have the offense and defense to win this game and it shouldn't be a surprise.

This doesn’t suprise me about Rodgers AT ALL. He’s soooooooo smug, and now it’s bit him and the team where the sun don’t shine. As we saw earlier this year hurting the team because of selfish irresponsible behavior is no big deal to Rodgers. Anyone who sees how players (and fans) act at NFL games … and then is suprised that more and more players are getting sick is a stupid. Stupid should be painful, and now it is.

I will call it and say Chief will blitz our D line and will give Love a hard time.

Adams is vaccinated but still got it. Probably want to blame the person who brought it into the locker room?

Agree 100 percent. With so many key and top players missing, and now without Rodgers, if the Packers walk into KC and leave with a win, the experts and pundits will need to show them a lot more respect.
Can't wait to see what MLF has planned.

Well THAT changes the complexion of this game :( . Hopefully use the same game-plan as AZ, get the ball out quickly, move the chains on long methodical drives to keep Mahomes on the sidelines.
You’d think that. But I’d go all in and try to hit MVS deep a few times. We got nothing to lose and Everything to gain beating them with our backup QB.

If we somehow pull this game out we’re definitely the best team in the NFL by far :roflmao:

I thought I remember reading that Bortles wasn't even taking snaps (or not many) in pre-season. Not that I don't agree he should have been the 1st phone call.

Every other team with a Day 1 selection starts them early. Jordan Love has been here near 1.5 years now. He’s been in the playbook a good bit and he’s has extra time this off-season with 1st team with the Rodgers no-show fiasco.

I’m actually excited to see him get some valuable snaps. Good or bad play aside, this is a huge learning opportunity for our novice QB and it’s an opportunity for our staff to see him in live, meaningful action.
Time to push Love out of the nest and see where he’s at.

Came in looking for Chiefs/Packers pre-game talk.. I must be in the wrong thread.

Well... didn't expect that this game would turn into absolutely needing to talk about Aaron Rodgers pre-game.

I jinxed us.... My fault.

This is a good game for Love to start now that AR is in quarantine. KC's defense isn't what it once was, we have a good running attack and we are playing an AFC opponent. Now we will be able to see what we have in this young man. If we win, great. If not it isn't the end of the season.

Yes. As you pointed out, if we had to pick a game to play our backup QB? You’d obviously point to an AFC Match first. Then next one with a lower ranked D

We’ve went through 4 of the leagues top 8 scoring Defenses already.

2. Saints
4. Cardinals
5. Steelers
8. Bengals

Now it’s time to

KC is ranked 22nd or worse in every Defensive statistical category except passing attempts (17th); plays (18th)
28th in Points allowed
29th in Sacks
19th in Turnovers
25th Rushing yards; 30th Rushing TD
29th Passing yards; 22nd Passing TD
29th 3rd down %; 28th 4th Down %

This is the near ideal matchup for a green Pea QB.

The KC Offense is a very good, 6th in points scored, so another week of running the ball is in order.

I think the other thing that is underrated and does not show up in the stat book is MLF's game plans. He will have something ready for the Chiefs. My guess is they will attack the middle. Easy slant passes, TE screens, lots of movement prior to the snap, and then run the football a lot. I'm interested to see what love has.

Side note, I've mentioned it and have seen it mentioned, at least the virus is going through the team right now and not in the playoffs. GPG!

Another thing I'm interested in is to see how Love and MLF manage the clock. Will we be seeing the play clock wind down to almost nothing prior to the snap and the use of timeouts to avoid penalties?

Interesting, you are a stat master. My info came from an article I read and clearly they do not do deep dives like you do. Maybe he wanted 65% of the snaps and the Steelers told him he's out! That is where they drew the line!

My point was that Ingram might have an impact with the Chiefs as well as he was playing a significant amount of snaps for a better defense.

I thought I remember reading that Bortles wasn't even taking snaps (or not many) in pre-season. Not that I don't agree he should have been the 1st phone call.

Well, Bortles was released before the start of training camp once Rodgers showed up for it. He still has a better knowledge of the system having been with the team for 2 1/2 months in the offseason than any other quarterback the Packers could have signed at this point.
