Stack the box EVERY SINGLE TIME. Im talking bare minimum DBs. If we lose i would rather it be because Dak (with a hobbled Cooper) is forced to "play QB". We cannot lose because Elliott rushed for 180 with 2 TDs. Getting run on not only loses you the game, but i feel like it kills team confidence. Cause that means you were weaker and got bullied.

didn't watch the game last night but from all accounts dal didn't look like the dal of the previous 3 games. we managed to get about a half's worth of offense, and a quarters worth of defense, from our guys vs phi. the Packers are due a complete game sometime. is this the week? could be. dal doesn't really have a home field advantage in their bldg. the Packers will be vulnerable up the middle again. phi's rb and te went nuts vs the Packers. dal will try the same things. dak will run on you too just as wentz will but doesn't have the arm wentz does. he's like rodgers is now in that he'll throw at the wide open guy but won't force a ball, and risk a turnover, unless he's desperate. rodgers saw the short game work last week and will need to keep it up this week too. he simply won't have the time to dilly dally. i think our DB's are better than dal's. so on that i'll predict a narrow Packers W.

I am torn between wanting to be optimistic about the Packers and what I think might be reality. Everybody is getting all excited because Dallas didn’t look great against the Saints Defense. I did watch that game. The Saints looked pretty damned good, and I think many here may not realize how good they are. That doesn’t mean that the Packers can’t beat the Cowboys, but I think some might be making some assumptions about the Cowboys based on the score of last night’s game.

I think last game was a reality check for both teams. Many here were overrating Dallas before and last game showed they are flawed as well.

It'll be a good match between us and AR usually has their number. Another hail mary to win this for us?

I think we'll lose a close one. Dallas is a lot better than they are given credit for. They don't have any big weaknesses on their team.

I can't see the defense stop the Cowboys from controlling the clock.
Funny how there was all this talk about the defense being improved, and now we're saying the Cowboys will win because we can't stop the run. Obviously true though, that the run defense needs improved. And we need to get back to creating takeaways.

I don't think Dallas will win the NFC, but they are a well balanced team.
And let's hope it wasn't McCarthy who had their number.

it's undermanned. lacks enough quality pieces.

I do believe we do need another ILB who is a force to go alongside Martinez to plug teams up.

But I do think schematically it could be problematic because Pettine does emphasize stopping the pass usually before the run. Sorta a bend don't break style defense I believe.

I'd love to see GB come out in 1WR, 2TE, FB & RB sets consistently ~ run the ball, run some more, and occasionally hit a TE over the middle or a back swinging out. WR is decoy 95% of the passes attempted ~ tell AR he gets to throw 3 passes max. to the WR all night & to use those 3 wisely. Without committing to the run this O will shrivel and die ~ time for the line to take some pride in the run game.

Bring back Big Mike for one game?
it was time for Mike to go. But I kind of miss his girthy presence on the sidelines. Looked like a real football guy. LeFleur looks like he's just taken a loan out to buy his own bar.

Would be shocked if Davante plays.

Assuming he doesn't, galvanizing moment for the much-maligned rest of the receivers?

Possibly. It’ll force the Packers to get creative in getting other guys involved.

However, if he does play, it would be somewhat akin to 2017 when, in week 4, he got concussed by Trevathen. One of the most vicious hits I’ve seen in quite some time, yet he managed to play 10 days later in Dallas, only to score the winning touchdown.

Remarkably similar circumstances this time around. Injury week 4 on a Thursday night, with Dallas waiting 10 days later in week 5. Very different with the concussion vs the toe situation, but I wouldn’t bet against Davante doing everything in his power to get ready for another big stage game in Arlington.

I swear I counted 10 in the box once against Philly. Our safety barely got the back down, or the back tripped on some paint...after a 12 yard pickup.

The holes Philly was running through looked like wide angle panoramics.

If AR isn't on his back and running for his life, we have a punchers chance. A team is never as bad as their last loss and never as good as their last win. I worry about our Oline, we haven't been able to rush for a 1 yard gain in what seems like forever. I'm also not confident about our halftime adjustments.

How is this thread not sticky’d yet?

This game reminds me a bit of the Atlanta game in week 7 (I think?) in 2016 at Atlanta. The Packers went into that game banged up. Even some of the guys that played weren’t close to 100%. Geronimo Allison, Trevor Davis, and Jeff Janis all got their first career regular season TDs in that game. A lot of new, fresh faces.

Yes, the Packers lost 33-32. But, even in dire circumstances, the Packers found a way to be competitive with guys who weren’t typically a part of the Packers every day game plan. And the Packers D now is considerably better than then. And Atlanta was a more potent offense than what we will be playing on Sunday.

My point...don’t act as if it’s a foregone conclusion that the Cowboys will have it’s way, especially considering how lethal Rodgers has been in that stadium over the years.

I believe we have a Lombardi to prove it.

This will be a tight game. And we will have a great chance at a W.

I’m not sure what worse.. beating yourself after a 500+ O performance.. or not being at all effective Offensively but seeing your D play lights out. It’s like a toss up.
Dallas has to be the favorite here. They are playing at home and GB is missing possibly their #1 and #2 WR (Adams is both) and #2 RB. This is someone’s chance to shine on a big stage.

Dallas however is missing their blindside OT and that’s not good against a DC who likes to use his pass rush personnel to hurry the QB from multiple angles.
I think I’d rush both Zadarius and Gary off that side for the 1st series to fully test the backup.

It’ll be imperative we choose the correct player to spy the QB because Dak is relentless and efficient at scrambling and he’s effective at using his legs at scurrying out of the pocket. Martinez can’t man the middle by himself, I’d rather Sullivan or another backup Safety camp in the middle if Burks Can’t go.

I’d really like to see us rotate Keke in more. He’s an exceptional run Defender and he needs to wet his lips at this level.

There are three brutal facts that lead me to believe that our beloved Green Bay Packers will probably lose this game.

1. We have no viable wide receiver on the team whose name isn't Davante Adams, and;

2. If you've ever really, truly smashed your toe you know there are few things that hurt worse or are more debilitating.

3. The Packers run defense sucks.

I like the plan of piling on Zeke's neck and making Dak beat the Packers with his arm. I like Dak, but I like our defensive backfield too.

I'm dreading Dallas 26, Green Bay 16.

Hope I'm wrong.

I have more faith in our ability to throw than some of you. Especially since dallas's DB situation is not the greatest. Maybe Shephard can do something out of the slot to keep down and distance manageable. So don't really want to take up the whole short middle of the field every play with a slow TE. Sort of looking forward to who will be playing our R tackle spot now that I know it isn't Spriggs. Somebody better step up.
