I don't care what they do with them, just make them count :) 1 great player if they can, 2 great players would be better. 2 good would be nice. 1 or 2 stinkers would suck.

Seems quite far fetched with the OPs original post IMO. Kiser... really?
just wait until you get to the ones where you see them thinking people will give up draft picks for Cobb and Matthews and want their final year of contract prices. It gets better :)

No... ...

Let’s see if you agree:

I’d give a maybe a 4th for Matthews

Probably a 6th for Cobb.

I can't believe you'd give that much. But neither are going anywhere. Matthews isn't horrible, just paid too much. If we got rid of him, we'd really be thin and weak at OLB to a point we probably couldn't overcome it at all on defense. healthy, Cobb is worth more than a 6th, but he's never healthy. But he's paid, he's here and nobody we bring in is going to make more of an impact yet this season. Probably be better off letting him go in FA where someone will get the WR Fever and we'll get at least a 5th, maybe 4th if someone is really nuts, in a compensatory pick. Though we did bring on some more FA's this year we might not even be eligible for comp picks this year.

1. Let me make sure I understand ya because you sound a touch contradicting.

“I can’t believe you’d give that much”

Are you speaking about Matthews and Cobb, or just Matthews? Then you say Cobb is “worth more than a 6th”... see what I mean?

2. I’m not saying by any means that the Rams would make any moves. I’m just saying that that’s what I personally feel they could be worth. However, I haven’t watched them play this season, and I don’t know their contact situation.

3. Because Matthews ‘isn’t horrible’, that’s why I said a 4th. But yes, he’s overpaid greatly, and a shell of what he was.

4. Cobb is not worth more than a 6th IMO, because I believe he’s also overpaid, a bit aged, and as you said, never healthy; 6th at best. Just an outside perspective.

What a player is worth or worth to a team are different. A 4th for Matthews and his contract is on the fair/low side of things. But he'd make a big hole even bigger by us getting rid of him. Not worth it for us. I'd rather have Cobb get healthy in time for any potential playoff push than send him off for a 6th. If I was a fan of another team, I wouldn't want to trade for Cobb for anything higher than a 6th or 7th at this point. But I think if he was a FA he'd garner more interest from teams.

But we have "fans" thinking both guys are going to get top of round picks so we can get rid of them. It's funny actually.

I think he/she was mostly likely speaking in hypothetical terms.

Well, you have to consider that contractual situation when talking about their trade value though.

With Allison coming back and Valdes-Scantling having stepped up over the past two games the Packers might be able to overcome trading Cobb.

The Packers all but guaranteed won't receive any compensatory picks in 2019 after signing Graham and Williams while only losing Burnett counting towards the formula.

Cobb is not worth more than a 6th IMO, because I believe he’s also overpaid, a bit aged, and as you said, never healthy; 6th at best. Just an outside perspective.

While Cobb is already in his eighth season in the league he's only 28 years old.

Who sent you? Why are you here? -_-

No one. I always (this year) join opposing boards. I’ll talk smack here and there, but I’ll never make it personal, and I love football bro. I like to get a sense of the opposition(s) fans feelings and interact.

I also do a podcast in which I talk about the opposition with my brother on our show.

“Rampage Radio Podcast” which is on iTunes.

The short answer is, "it's the internets". Why does anybody do what they do or say what they say?

I have no problem with fans of other teams contributing, especially if they're conducting themselves respectfully which this poster has done so far.

Not his fault that he's right about the OP.

I get it; I do. But, he’s aged poorly physically. Damaged goods

Unfortunately Cobb has had troubles staying healthy over the past few seasons. I don't consider him damaged goods as he has missed a total of only six games over the past 4+ seasons.

I think Green Bay should trade either one of their 1st rd picks preferably the Saints pick. Offer that pick, maybe to the NY Giants for Landon Collins, along with the Giants' 3rd rd pick; I'd do that deal. I think the Giants would do that deal.

Saints primed for the playoffs, pick is a definite low 1st rounder.

Get an impact player, last year of rookie deal, and evaluate the rest of the season. Collins can plug in and play, great fit for Mike Pettine's system, and shore up the back-end along with Ha- Ha Clinton Dix. Ha Ha leaves in free agency and money shifts to securing Collins; a complete safety. Brice, Jones, and whoever else is not the answer. Either Landon Collins or a pass rusher.

That’s actually a pretty good injury history imo for a WR that goes across the middle as much as Cobb does.

I highly doubt the Giants are interested in trading Collins.

I wouldn't mind Gutekunst using both first rounders in next year's draft to move up and select a player capable of having an immediate impact.

If that scenario presents itself, I'm fine with it.

And if it does not, and the Packers end up using both picks, I'm fine with that also.

What would you guys think if Gute gave up Kizer, and BOTH first rd picks to swap with the New York Giants to move up and take Nick Bosa??

It’s actually my trade proposal but I think this is something the Giants would go for. You get your young QB still on a rookie contract who’s started in the NFL in Kizer.
Then you have two picks in the first where you can draft an o line to build around Saquan.
I like your thinking. The only problem is that Kizer isn’t the answer at QB for the Giants (or any other team). Unless he improves, he’ll remain a capable #2. And assuming the Giants get the #1 pick, they’ll likely take a QB. As for the Packers getting Bosa, yeah I think most would love that. It just doesn’t seem there’s anywhere to get there from here. The first round pick from the Saints is gonna be near the end of the first round. Hard to say where GB will pick. At this rate, probably around 15. I don’t think they’ll have enough draft capital to move into the top 5 in the draft.

if ny ends up with the #1 pick they'll take a qb (herbert) so the Packers would be dealing with whoever's #2.
Correct. And they don’t have enough draft capital to move to #2, unless they are willing to give up a player. Not crazy about that idea. The draft is supposed to be deep in rushers. Hopefully they can find a Jaire Alexander type of edge rusher at 15 or wherever they end up picking.

Mike McCarthy to CLE for high draft picks.

They have an opening, a familiar front office, and a need now that Hugh Jackson is out.

Gute then gets his guy after Pettine interims for the rest of the season.

Any takers? (Only half kidding here).
