I can’t wait to see who Green Bay “almost” traded for today.
Or them being involved but ultimately couldn’t get the job done.
I would be absolutely shocked if they did something relevant.
At this point I'm more or less convinced that they just leak out phony stories to the press saying we're "interested" or "in conversations" or "in the mix" just to throw the dog a bone and get fans off their backs for a short while...

True, but like many have said, don't make a bad trade just to trade.
I agree with that. I truly believe that any solid receiver makes them better but isn’t gonna be the saving grace of the season it will help but it’s a team sport.

Way to take the easy way out with that last sentence...you'll just say regardless of what they do it isn't relevant.

Moore would be heading here already if we could come to an agreement with Carolina, and it isn't IMO what Gute is willing to give up as it was STRONG...I 100% stand by that statement.

That would almost be too good to be true. I would imagine he’d cost Day1 collateral. Either that or multiple Day 2 selections such as
2022
Round 2
Round 3
2023
Round 5

MN just got Hockenson. I guess they heard the trade deadline was coming.

Not a bad deal either IMO.
Minnesota gets Hockenson, a 2023 4th-round pick, and a conditional 2024 4th-round pick for a 2023 2nd and a 2024 3rd.

Of course he will be needing a new contract soon which is a big factor but still

To the Bears?
What a waste of a good player

At first I was like that is just dumb....BUT, as great and in his prime as Smith was, trading him away essentially for Claypool plus getting a 5th as well....Claypool they have for this year and next even if they don't work out a deal, Smith they had to pony up top level money for ILB pay to keep him in the offseason. It is also much easier to find an athletic ILB than it is potentially a #1WR or for sure WR2 which I feel Claypool is better suited for.

The Bears gave up their own 2nd rounder & not the Raven's pick that was acquired in the Roquan trade. Some "rumors" were that they did so to offer a better deal than what the Packers had on the table. I'd actually be pretty surprised if Gute had offered our 2nd... and that Pittsburgh wouldn't have quickly taken it. "CBS Sports' Josina Anderson reports that Green Bay was expected to have the best offer for Claypool before the Bears "swooped in."

The Bears pick will end up being a better one in 2023 than ours so why would they if that is true pick ours?

Gutey is getting destroyed today. The value will go up for any possible wr trade the closer it gets to the deadline because every team knows how desperate we are. A 2nd for Claypool was good value. Can't believe they didn't offer or match with a later round pick in addition.

I'll share some what are in my opinions facts as they exist:

There is zero way for Gute to handle today for many fans. Literally zero ways. He could add a veteran WR and a lot will ***** not good enough or gave too much. He could add a FA like OBJ or Fuller and many would say terrible addition or overpaid. He could end up doing nothing and folks will be even more mad. Gute has zero chance with many fans today period.

I believe there is 100% valid and legit reasons to do a trade, with serious cost and for not as well.

Trade deadline is only 6 hours away & I'm reading Jerry Jeudy is a hot commodity with 3 or more teams interested. Denver has very few weapons, already, for Wilson and demand that their TE's block. Wondering if this package would get a deal done with former Packer coaches Hackett & Outten at the helm?

Packers get: WR - Jeudy & TE - Albert Okwuegbunam (who doesn't block much & in the doghouse)
Broncos get: WR - Watkins & TE - Marcedes Lewis + Packers '23 2nd round & Jacksonville's 7 round pick (higher than ours).

Jeudy instantly becomes GB's #1 WR, is still only 23 yrs old & under contract in '23 for $2.7Mil

GB loses our best blocking TE but allows more snaps for Davis to fill that role while being a better receiver than Lewis.
I have this feeling when the trade deadline happens....Nothing significant will occur.

Obviously you can't please everyone but sitting pat and doing nothing should likely please nobody.
If you think we have a shot at doing something this season, you should be buyers.
If you don't think we have a shot at doing anything this season, you should be sellers.

As it stands we'll have done nothing to improve our short-term nor to improve our long-term.

I’ve seen the Bears and Vikings both add help at need positions meanwhile the Packers do their annual BS and not do a thing. I’m really tiered if this management and their mindset. They replaced TEd Thompson with a younger version of Him. I wish Rodgers just request a trade or retired. They do t even want tonbuikd around the guy which is a damn shame because

Stop letting your frustration make you make just categorically false statements. Gute has done things in a way Ted would have not even had written down on a board or sheet of paper in his office.

So I'd have done the Claypool deal for a 2nd, but what if Rodgers told Gute absolutely not given Claypool's attitude and antics he has exhibited? Is Gute the issue for not making that happen IF that is the case?

I have had a few things I've vehemently disagreed with Gute on, BUT we as fans will never know all which they know sadly...
