Saints were 7-9 the previous 3 seasons prior to 2017. Not betting on it but wouldn't shock me at all if they had a down year

The Saints could totally have another big season, but their division has seen a ton of turnover year by year. Very rarely do NFCS division champs repeat. Carolina went on a run from 2013-2015, but other than that no team has ever taken the division in back to back seasons since it came into existence in 2002.

In the three drafts prior to this one, the Saints were picking 11th, 12th, and 13th. If they fall back to the pack, that pick could be huge.

Brees doesn't have the same velocity he did. More and more passes were shorter and a little more wobbly than they used to be. How does he hold up for another full season? If he does, they'll be fine. If he's doesn't maintain, things will look good for us. Though I said the same about Brady after the previous year and he was as good as ever really again this year.

Maybe he will go "Full Peyton Manning" for us. :)

Mark Ingram’s 4 game suspension is the first step in the Green Bay sponsored 0-16 campaign.

7-9 isn't making the playoffs...were back on the clock at pick #14...WOOOOO!
I’d certainly settle for that. And the saints have had their share of 8-8 seasons even w Brees. We can dream, right?

This thread will be devoted to tracking the New Orleans Saints journey to 0-16, thus awarding the Packers the 1st overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft!

In all seriousness though, here's the Saints regular season schedule:

Tampa Bay
Cleveland
@Atlanta
@New York Giants
Washington
BYE
@Baltimore
@Minnesota
Los Angeles Rams
@Cincinnati
Philadelphia
Atlanta
@dallas
@Tampa Bay
@Carolina
Pittsburgh
Carolina

FWIW - the Saints have the 2nd toughest strength of schedule this season based on the 2017 records of its opponents (according to USA Today) with the 1st toughest belonging to *drum roll* the Green Bay Packers.

I don't put much stock into that though as much can change from year to year.

I never wish injury upon any player, but if there were to ever be a year that Drew Brees will regress, this is the year to do it, big guy!

So we get the first and second pick? :D I'm sure glad we didn't make that trade for that Mack guy.

Oh he will regress, I guarantee it. He is QB on 2 of my fantasy teams.

The NFC South is such a crap shot with 3 good teams. Should see 2 losses from the away contests @ ATL and @ Car. The @NYG game will be interesting because the Giants sucked last year due to injuries, but could see them turnaround and win the East. Last year they were 11-5 and should have made the NFCCG, but a crappy play stopped that... 2 years ago though they were 7-9 and almost fired Sean Peyton. Finishing between those two records seem likely with 9-7 or 8-8 a strong possibility. I know a few pundits think they have a very good super bowl chance, but I just don't think they will be as good as last year. Very few injuries last year doesn't usually repeat the next year. Which would pass us the #15-18 pick.

I was bummed when they traded for Teddy Bridgewater. Without Teddy they would have been looking at a pretty bad record if Drew Brees were to go down to injury.

Well, we are off to a good start! Saints loose at home against ****** Bay! I din't watch the game, but I am going to assume by the final score, the Saints defense is going to be helping the Packers secure a decent draft pick in 2019! :) Looks like the Saints had no running game as well.

A great way to start the season for the Packers!

WTG Saints!! 0-1
