Rollins was terrible as well and got benched in favor of Goodson.

Wondered about that. I really kind of "checked out" of this game for the first time in a very long time. I still watched the whole thing, but found myself fast forwarding (I watched delayed to avoid commercials) and paying very little attention to the broadcasters.

Rollins had a promising rookie year, but the loss of Shields and Randall has forced him into a roll that he is not ready for. The "new GM" better think long and hard about obtaining a #1 or #2 CB for 2017 by whatever means necessary (FA/Draft).

True, with Shields most likely being done for good the Packers are in need if a #1 cornerback for next season.

This draft is stocked with good corners, but I think it would be awesome to draft one high and then sign someone like Haden. Won't happen, but it'd be nice.

Hate to be even more pessimistic than even that, but.......if we continue to play the way we are currently playing, I can see a 5-11 record happening. With our only win coming against The Bears. None of the other games (@Wash, @Phil, Hou, Sea, Min, @Det,) are going to come easy. Heck, the way we are playing right now, we could even find a way to lose to the Bears at Soldier Field.

The optimistic side of me keeps saying this is going to get turned around, but I really haven't seen any sustained signs of that happening.

I based my current prediction on the age-old adage of, "It's never as bad as it seems nor as good". I could see the Pack, even with their recent abysmal performances as evidence, win the following: Houston, Chicago, Minnesota + one upset.

The Packers are due a surprising upset. Without one, it's entirely defensible to predict that the Packers will end up with a losing record this year.

How the hell does RR get more snaps than Montgomery and Cobb!!! Every time I see that scrub run out there in the 4 wr set instead of a guy who can actually separate it makes me hate this offense even more. He's flanked out as a wr against a corner. He may be biggger but he's slow and doesn't break tackles. Use a real Wr!!

Also our route combinations are terrible. No wonder why guys ain't open.

This defense still cant cover, they can't tackle, they can't pressure the QB - even when blitzing, and what the heck is up with that safety blitz where the guy comes rushing from 20 yards away? He doesn't even get to the line of scrimmage before the ball is thrown.

What other team would continue to roll with its DC if the defense kept preforming like ours year after year?

Semi-Stud: James Starks. For all the crap he has taken on here, he had an ok game especially considering he is just coming off of knee surgery. While he only had 7 rushes for 33 yards (4.7 ave.) and 3 receptions for 11 yards and a TD, he at least gave the running game a bit of life.
I was just thinking before I read this that if there was a silver lining? it was our #3 WR and #2 RB not buying into the theme of mediocrity. I was actually surprised at how fast Starks and Adams played.

Not sure how Goodson did statistically, but the eye test of him was simply awful. He looked like he was afraid to tackle anyone.
Goodson actually was not only bad at tackling, he became counter productive and hurt his own teammate because he was afraid to square up on the TEs legs

Richard is a great option to move the chains on a 3rd and 10 scenario or in the Enzone. He normally is reliable catching just no YAC.
In between, I'd like to see less of Richard and more of Geronimo.

Can't remember all the details of the play, but I think you are referring to the play that Goodson came in and basically threw his body down at the feet of the Titan player and ended up picking his own teammate right off from the tackle. I already burned my copy of the game, but that video should be played at the Peewee level as to "How not to make a tackle."

Studs:
Adams played hard. Martinez wasn't too bad.

Duds:
R. Rodgers. Wow, it sucks not to have a tight end.

Defense in general. Giving up a 75 yard TD on the first play was a disgrace. This defense is soft at the start of games, very soft with two minutes to play in the first half, and Charmin soft in the final four minutes of the game. Yes, they've had injuries. So has every other team.

Cornerbacks. OMG.

Offensive game plan. Was there one?

Offense in general. To begin the game you're given a gift of excellent field position due to the offside kick. You go three and out.

Special teams: missed kicks. Also the failure to down the first punt inside the five yard line. WTF?! Just tap it to keep it from rolling into the endzone and then get away from it. You don't need to cradle it in your arms as you roll onto the goal line.

Coaching: This team was flat for the second straight week. They basically gave up in the first half.

Playcalling: ?? How about moving the chains early and then throwing bombs if you happen to find yourself down three touchdowns -- not the other way around. Honestly, though, the defense was so bad that the offensive playcalling hardly made a difference.

GM: Failure to replace losses at corner is simply unacceptable. This is a passing league. You can't shut down any receivers you're going to lose most of your games.

Coming into the game I figured the Packers were a mediocre team -- mediocre offense, mediocre defense. Now I would say they are clearly below average. The defense is definitely below average. They couldn't stop a one-legged kangaroo. The offense is also below average. Rodgers has his moments, but he's also off the mark far too often. Special teams are below average. Intangibles -- fighting spirit, confidence, pride, energy -- are below average.

Sure. And the missed extra point. And the screwed up Timeout that TN took to slow our drive but then the refs gave the timeout back because they dropped the football they replaced?

I already burned my copy of the game, but that video should be played at the Peewee level as to "How not to make a tackle."

Not only did he pick his teammate (Burnett), but also hurt him. Burnett walked it off, but remained on the ground for a while due to his head being snapped sideways by Goodson's flying torso.

And, yes, the non-tackle was text book of futility. Goodson's arms were actually down along his sides (i.e. hands by his waist) as he threw his right shoulder and lowered head at the legs of the Titan receiver. He never even tried to wrap him up. Had he extended his arms while keeping his head up, he might have noticed the receiver jumping to the side, he might have been able to get a hold of his target, and he might have noticed Burnett as a friendly and done something to avoid or lessen that impact.

How these guys get to the NFL with such poor tackling form is beyond me?
