Duds: Teach these receivers to catch, and teach the defense to tackle. That first Titan touchdown they just stood and watched him go by.

My only consolation is that the Bears and Vikings also lost, but that isn't much. We could have gained some ground.

Next week is the Redskins followed by the Eagles. Oh boy.

what do you say after this one? Hard to find some positives. There were a few, but when you're getting blown out like that, it doesn' tmatter much. I thought with the heads up onside kick, we were going to be dialed in and ready to go. That thought quickly faded.

Rodgers throws a crap pass that should have been an easy first down, Cobb misses it, we punt and lose our starting inside linebacker in the process and after a penalty, they run it right at us and go 75 yards for a TD on the next play. Great start guys, great start. and it got worse from there it seemed like.

McFatty is just going to say in the press conference. " we are close, we just didn't execute and we need to tackle better" same garbage he's been saying and nothing has changed. Time to change him out. I swear if Capers doesn't get fired this week. This team is complacent and just doesn't care to win
Is it just me or do the Packers just seem like they are way too much of nice guys to get rid of anybody?
I dunno if it's the name, the small city team, the community, the way the fans "own" them or what but since they don't fit in with the norm of any of the other 31 teams, there is something about them with an aura of kindness and not tough like other teams.
Not saying it's good or bad. Just the vibe I sometimes get....

Sitton Mastay would disagree

It's all my fault.
I'm the duddiest of all duds.
Didn't wear any Packers shirts today as I usually would.
So go ahead and blame it all on me fellow Pack fans. :(

You really think this team can finish 5-2? I guess it's possible because the schedule doesn't look that hard, but every single team that has us on the schedule from here on in is looking at us and saying this is a very winnable game.

Win every division game 1, then take care of home forreal. Not this fake team that looks mediocre at Lambeau.

Anyone know who would have played ILB had either Martinez or Thomas went down? With the loss of Ryan and Clay at Club Med, I was trying to figure out who would have been inserted into the position. Depending on the severity of Ryan's injury, just another position weak in depth.

Studs: Mariotta

Duds: Capers typical rushing 5-6 and playing 8-10 yards off receivers instead of jamming them within 5 yards during a blitz. This is the worst loss I can remember since playing the Lions with our backup QB several years ago. We actually look terrible on Defense. We are lucky they shut down or they could've put up 70 points.
Although we had some good drives. Our Offense looks disfunctional and cannot put 1 complete game together anymore nor dictate an opponent in the red zone
This loss was embarrassing on every level

Not sure. How about who would have played on the o line after Bahk went down? They had no back ups left

Adams and Martinez played really well.

Richard Rodgers is a liability and is absolutely killing the team. No athletic ability whatsoever. McCarthy can't call a play to save his life. Capers is awful, wide open receivers all over the field. His defense got dismantled by a year one OC with 3 starting linemen out, and they couldn't touch the QB or cover anyone. No depth or speed anywhere.

GB's last two drafts have been better, but there is a talent deficit on the team that is continuing to show, and McCarthy is being outcoached by people like Mike Mularkey by a significant margin.

Spriggs looked good out there at least. Another positive with the way Martinez is diagnosing plays and finishing tackles. Hope the Jake Ryan injury isn't serious. We do have Carl Bradford on PS, who finally showed improvement this preseason

I really didn't see anyone "play" O-line after Bahk and Lang went down, seemed like they inserted 2 turnstiles named Barclay and Spriggs. As far as beyond those 2......they were pretty much down to diddly and squat.

Semi-Stud: James Starks. For all the crap he has taken on here, he had an ok game especially considering he is just coming off of knee surgery. While he only had 7 rushes for 33 yards (4.7 ave.) and 3 receptions for 11 yards and a TD, he at least gave the running game a bit of life.

I said weeks ago the only way the Packers are getting into the playoffs is as a division winner. I'm definite going to stand by that now. This team has the makings of the 4-12 team we had tho. If Rodgers wasn't the qb I'd give then no chance AE winning the division at all. He's not exempt from some blame...but he's the type of qb who can carry a mediocre "HC" , GM and roster. He's done it for yrs, and the talent in his right arm is still there so....9-7.

I am actually going with a bit more pessimistic than you, Rodell: At this point, I predict 8-8 and no playoffs. A far cry from my before-the-season prediction of 13-3.

Ain't that the truth. Our new left tackle, Long, will be hitting IR tomorrow or the next day. So we will down to our 3rd or 4th string LT. To many have been there I can't keep track.

Oh come on. It isn't just your oline and you know it. They have were brutal at tackle going into the year and addressed it with an aging declining guy in Smith. Their defense now looking average after the bears worked them, the redskins moved the ball whenever necessary and the Lions did at the end of the game. The Vikings are not dominating turnovers anymore so they are losing games.

The Packers are garbage right now but the Vikings are not any better. The Vikings could be 5-7 soon with Arizona Detroit and Dallas coming up

Hate to be even more pessimistic than even that, but.......if we continue to play the way we are currently playing, I can see a 5-11 record happening. With our only win coming against The Bears. None of the other games (@Wash, @Phil, Hou, Sea, Min, @Det,) are going to come easy. Heck, the way we are playing right now, we could even find a way to lose to the Bears at Soldier Field.

The optimistic side of me keeps saying this is going to get turned around, but I really haven't seen any sustained signs of that happening.

Duds:
McCarthy - Montgomery has been one of the highlights of this offense and yet he only gets 13 snaps? McCarthy puts Richard Rodgers on the field to catch passes rather than Montgomery. Proving once again that McCarthy has no clue about how to use innovative personnel, he keeps going back to the same ineffective well time and time again.

Richard Rodgers - Can't do anything after he catches a pass and then drops the most important pass he's thrown all day. Tell me again why this guy is on the field?

Defensive personnel - this is mainly on the players but the coaching staff will suffer as well; for such a supposedly deep, young team the Packers are getting destroyed without their top two corners because Gunter is so slow he absolutely needs help over the top and that destroys any ability to change up the defense. Capers will end up taking the blame, he gets paid to do so, but anyone that thinks a different defensive coordinator would turn this around is being willfully blind when looking at the players on the field. I mean, HaHa got beaten one-on-one by Fasano, that's on the player, not the coach.

Studs:
Adams - not hearing nearly as many "bust" calls this year. It's almost like a player can still get better in their third year.

Overall: Team needs a change at head coach (don't worry Capers-haters, a new coach would bring in a new defensive coordinator too so it's a win-win!) because he has proven for over a year that he can't innovate and his players know it. Prior to the season the team dumped Sitton in part because he questioned McCarthy's offense last season; seems like Sitton was on to something last year, huh?

Gunter was the team's best cornerback during yesterday's game.

Not sure how Goodson did statistically, but the eye test of him was simply awful. He looked like he was afraid to tackle anyone.
