Patriots are in desperate need of a tackle. We should trade Bulaga to the Pats for one of their 2nd rounders.

Jordan Matthews still making the rounds and is visiting Tennessee
Maybe not seeing the $$$ he expected
And just realized I have no idea why I am following his FA to begin with

Truthfully id rather draft 2 wrs than acquire Matthews on a 1 yr, 5M deal. Nothing about Matthews has jumped out as being a guy that would lock down that #2 spot and im still hoping we lock up another corner or 2 with our remaining cap.

I'm guessing the Pats would prefer a healthy, ready-t0-play-right-now, tackle.......
I mean they don’t mind repeatedly taking injury prone players that amount to nothing in the first round. They are notoriously bad at the draft. Last good player they have drafted is Trey Flowers 3 or 4 years ago now. They opened up cap space for someone. They need a veteran to help sure up that line. I think Bulaga would be a good fit.

do both. it's about getting better. why not use every avenue to improve the team? he's a proven commodity...and he's better than that guy we have at the 2 now, who is...no one.

Does he make us better? im not so sure. A proven commodity he isnt. Especially outside of the slot position. There is a reason he is still looking for a spot at this point of FA. Nobody wants to give him 5M.

zero surprise there
would have loved to see him in GnG though
but i feel pretty good about finding a receiver gem in day 2 this year

I would have been much happier having Matthews than relying on a day 2 rookie, but oh well, we still have Geronimo, Clark, Davis and Yancey. :cautious:

I hope I am wrong, but I think the Packers lost out on Cobbs eventual replacement.

Geronimo has upside, I don't think it'll be the worst thing in the world for him to start the year as the #3. He seemed fine in that role vs Dallas in the 2016 playoffs.

Nah, Graham is better than Matthews and Graham will be the #2 receiver on the team.

I do see potential in Geronimo and Clark, but I really would not hate to see the Packers cut Yancey and Davis. Just do not see much value in either of those players. I get that Yancey is young, but I do not think there are recievers in this league who do not get on the field their rookie years and make something of themselves (correct me if I am wrong). And Davis, we need to draft a legitimate KR/PR guy(s) this year. It is painful watching Davis fair call every punt when he has 20 yards of green in front of him.

I read where Yancey made some real strides in his game, but who knows.

As much as I love the idea of Clark playing, I think he is still raw. Another Basketball player turned Football and if memory serves me correct, that was only 1 year of football at Marshall. So I still don't expect to see much out of him in year 2.

Davis is an adequate return guy, when he makes the right decisions. Not sure if they can coach him up better, but like you said, he fair catches the ball when he shouldn't way too often. If he can become a better backup WR and get smarter on return decisions, I see him as a valuable #6 WR.

Whatever their QB plan, it better flop. I can't take another era of Patriots dominance.
I wouldn't count on it. Just for yucks I looked at some tape and a scouting report. I noticed the critiques about arm strength, overstriding and accuracy come into play when he eases the ball into a receiver with separation. When he throws into tight spaces the mechanics and arm strength are good. He throws a nice, accurate, rainbow "go get it" deep ball, in one instance 60 yards in the air. As for athleticism, he's not going to outrun anybody, but he has a Rodgers-like a ability to slip and slide in the pocket, pick out a target and get the ball out quick. I think his release quickness in underrated.

He has NFL size for vision. Hand size is not optimal at 9 1/8" which comes into play with fumbling, slick balls, off-balance or sidearm throws. Rodgers measured 9 3/8", Goff measured 9". It should not be a deal breaker if the other raw material is perceived to be in place.

Yeah, we've heard similar reports over the years of practice warriors who don't show up in games. Maybe it has something to do with the CBs he's been practicing against.

At the time, I liked the Yancy pick in the 5th. round, but it was the 5th. round after all. I wouldn't attempt to judge development until at least preseason.

he's the te. we need a REAL #2 (or #1 {Ridley} if you think Adams is really a 2). if Graham is Jordy than it's a wash. they're no better than before.

You can put whatever two letters after his name you want, Graham is the #2 receiver. He doesn't block, he catches passes. Hence, receiver.

As I pick through the scraps of the remaining free agents, I can't help but notice DRC, Eric Reid and possibly Michael Floyd.

DRC could bring leadership and some veteran help to the secondary. I would take him over House for sure.

Reid is no doubt a bargain on the market right now, with too many afraid to touch him for political reasons.

I always loved Floyd when he was with the Cardinals and at 6' 3" and only 28, I like him even more. He never really got to do much with his last 2 teams (Pats and Vikings) and might be a guy who is hungry enough and with AR as his QB, could shine again. He isn't getting much attention, would come cheap.

Right, but....are you going to just line him, Adams and Cobb up? Packers still need someone capable of lining up outside IMO.
