Arizona is signing former Cowboy WR Brice Butler, which might help the Packers in a way. AZ was one of the teams that offered Jordan Matthews a contract. I haven't heard if the Packers ever made Matthews an offer, but that is one less team that is probably in the running for him.

If the Packers sign Breeland and Jordan Matthews, I will consider the Free Agency period a success.

Really would like to enter the draft without "needing" an immediate starter to emerge from it. Maybe Allison, Davis, Clark or Yancy will step up at WR, but there again, I don't want to have to count on it.

If Matthews was signed would you also prefer to release Cobb? Matthews plays the slot position as well, Not a fan of having Cobb on the outside. I consider Matthews to be an upgrade over Cobb in that role.

I believe Matthews could do well in either role and I would bow to the Packers as to if the 3 pack of Adams, Cobb and Matthews would be the way they want to go into 2018. That being said, if someone could step up and play the outside, the Packers would be able to free up some money by letting Cobb walk a year early.

It appears as thought the Packers are kicking the tires on a familiar face........

The Green Bay Packers and free agent cornerback Davon House could take a step toward a reunion soon.

According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN, the Packers and House are expected to sit down and talk about a return to Green Bay this week.

There appears to be mutual interest in House playing at least one more season with the Packers. A previous draft pick of former general manager Ted Thompson, House returned on a one-year deal last season after playing two years in Jacksonville. He tallied 44 tackles, six pass breakups, one interception and one sack over 12 games, although he battled through injury for much of the final two months of the season.

I’m hoping this comes to fruition. More competition at CB is good with a blend of old and new.

Plus King is really the only CB on the roster from last season that's a lock to make it back again.

Pipkins, Hawkins, Waters, Rollins, Brown, and Goodson... some of these guys will make it, but none of them are shoe ins.

The Packers could sign House and Breeland to add to King and Williams, still draft someone, and keep whichever player emerges from that group of younger guys. I thought Pipkins showed some promise.

You've got Breeland, Breaux, DRC and the draft out there, not to mention any possible trades. Why in the name of Lombardi is House even being considered, and why are so many of you so happy about it?

Look at that list above... outside of King and Williams... which one would you rather see on the field instead of House? Nobody is saying that House is great, but any improvement in depth is better than none. I would still like to see some competition brought in through the draft, but I'd be fine with House to replace some of the dead weight from that list above.

Speaking for myself.....until I see Breeland, Breux or DRC sitting down to sign a contract with Green Bay AND given who is currently on the roster, I'm perfectly fine with giving House a chance to earn a roster spot on a low end, minimal guarantees contract.

You replace the dead weight through draft, FA and trades; not continously hanging onto or bringing back the same dead weight year after year. You can have House; enough same old same old.

What's funny about this comment is that the Packers have generally been one of the teams least likely to hang on to a guy too long.

Signing House would be neither a fantastic solution, nor a debacle. He's competent. They need a lot of new bodies at corner. I see no reason to get bent out of shape over them potentially signing him.

Jordan Matthews is reportedly looking for $5/year.

I'd do that all day long.

Kendall Wright signed with the Vikings for $1M and I'm highly jealous.

Guessing when Matthews was in Green Bay, they either didn't make him an offer or it was also for less than the $5M/year he is seeking. Hopefully, the Packers are still a possibility for him and as more doors close, the door back into Green Bay might not get him the full $5M.

Sign Matthews and cut cobb. House has a pulse, that’s about all he has going for him at this juncture, but given the absolute disaster TT has left the team in at the cb position that is probably enough to warrant a contract offer.

Unfortunately, I think that still leaves you one short in the WR department. Rodgers is going to take awhile to get on the same page as Graham as it is, I don't think cutting Cobb at this point would be such a good idea. If they need cap space to sign Jordan Matthews, I would rather see them cut Bulaga, especially if it isn't looking like he will be able to play for awhile.

Agreed 100% Bulaga has turned into a lot of dead weight as well. Cobb disappears for 3 to 5 games every season, if his contract was cut by 25% to make up for these games where you don’t even realize he is in uniform, then I would agree with keeping him around. Both Rodgers and graham are professionals, who have played the sport the majority of their lives. If it is that big of a deal those 2 better be taking significant snaps in preseason.

Kendall Wright for $1.4mm for one year would have been kinda nice in the WR depth department if you were looking to get a cheaper, effective slot receiver to sign someone to play outside. The Packers do seem to be swimming in slot receivers at the moment.

We could probably sign Mathews, Snead/Meredith, and Tre Boston/Eric Reid for the money we are paying Cobb.

Patriots just traded Brandin Cooks to Rams for the Rams 1st round pick this year
And with Jordan Matthews visiting the Pats today
I'm gonna go ahead and assume Matthews isn't leaving Foxoboro without a contract

Everyone forgetting Montgomery as an option at wr... ?
Just sign Adrian Peterson to play #3, and push the rookies. :)

.....championship.....

Because if Peterson taught us anything last year, it's that he's great as the seasoned veteran behind a couple younger backs.
