Ima still wanting an edge rusher.

Don't we all.

Gotta allocate the money available and we NEED CBs. In theory if Perry can stay healthy, a BIG if, then we actually are looking pretty damn good with our 4 man rush. Yeah we need more guys to rotate on the edge but you can at least hope Biegal plus a draft pick helps that improve.

Compared to our CBs were we are pretty much ****** if we don't bring in a couple of guys unless Gute hits home runs multiple times in the draft with guys able to make an impact their rookie years AND everyone stays healthy.

I'm looking to the draft for pass rush. I'd like to see the aggressiveness continue with trade ups. We don't need 12 picks; make it a 3 or 4 player draft with guys who are instant upgrades and difference makers fronm day one, not projects and square pegs into round holes who might be good special teams guys in 2 or 3 years.

I was one of the many people who dropped his jaw when the Falcons pretty much gave their entire draft away to pick Julio Jones in 2011, but of course that was with Cleveland and we know who ended up coming out ahead on that deal. It's a crap shoot though. If you roll 3-5 picks into 1, you really have to hit big on that 1 guy.

Maybe someone posted this already, but Sheldon Richardson inked a one year deal with the Vikings for $11M

The nfc is looking tough. The eagles, saints and Vikings all look like they getting better

I said it before they signed Richardson, but if the Vikings stay healthy, they are the team to beat IMO. That defense just go better. We can only hope Cousins suffers a season ending hangnail and the Queens are back to QB musical chairs.

Raiders signing Shareece Wright. Could just be something they want to do in addition to Melvin, or could mean that they’re out.

As much as I would like Fuller, what does this do for the Packers negotiations with other possible CB's in the next 5 days? You know the Bears aren't going to do them any favors and make up their minds soon. Can the Packers pull the offer before the Bears respond in those 5 days?

The Packers are the second team to submit an offer sheet to Fuller, the first one wasn't accepted, this one has been.

I would call this a very aggressive move by Gute! I have to guess that the Bears will match the offer, but nice shooting Gute, unless this ties your hands from signing someone else for the next 5 days.

Actually, I thought any offer was it, shop closed. Unless that's only for tags with pick compensation?
Just read an interesting tweet. If the Packers are able to go after Fuller, there's a good chance Rodgers contract is done.

the bears have a chance to match, and I imagine they will. I would not want us to have signed him to such a deal the Bears won't have a legitimate chance to match, because while intriguing, he better not be getting 14 million per year or something from us in an offer. and anything halfway reasonable they'll match as they have cap space and incentive to do it.

Bears only slapped Fuller with the transition tag, which locks his salary in at $12.9 M for a year, but allows other teams to make him an offer, which then allows the Bears the right of first refusal. They have to match or beat the Packers offer within the next 5 days or they lose Fuller and get nothing in return. What I can't find is where the Packers stand during those 5 days, I assume they are stuck and can't back out. Which really doesn't bode well to tie that kind of money up, as well as the ability to sign another CB, for a guy you probably won't get. #confused

Unless the rules changed, then yes, our offer counts against the cap until the Bears match. If they don't that's our cap hit for Fuller. It also used to be- again, not sure if it still applies- we could renegotiate with Fuller to save cap as long as the money and years stayed the same, e.g. turn more into a signing bonus.

right now he has a contract, either it will be with us, or with the Bears if they decide to sign him to it. Maybe Fuller was the guy they targeted all along and gave a legitimate offer. But they waited till the Bears were busy signing away cap space to other guys until they made their offer. Not that the Bears don't have more space, but they have more reason to think now. What's left though, i'm not in a hurry to sign, guys like them will probably be available with cuts later too

Anyone want to guess what the Packers offer was?

I'm guessing 3-4 years at around $12-13M/year.
