I'd be into checking out Mo Claiborne, DRC, EJ Gaines, Tramon, etc.

We legit just need bodies at CB lol. Wouldn't be surprised if we draft another DB first pick too.

Based on what I'm reading, our CB situation may not be that bad. With Wilkerson providing a pass rush and a new DC, Rollins might make the Pro Bowl next year. ;)

Id love to see both EJ Gaines and Tramon in the green and yellow. Add in a capable option like Galette or Murphy and I feel very confident going into the draft.

Here is an interesting dilemma for you guys. Would you cut Cobb if that means we can sign Fuller with his cap space?
Looking at our cap situation right now, I feel like for any quality FA signing we will have to cut either Cobb, Matthews or Bulaga considering we have to factor in the 10M for Arod and about 6 for the draft picks.

On a side note, I have not seen any chatter here at all about Burnett.

Any rumors on Gaines? I cant find anything other than that Houston was looking at him but with Houston signing Colvin I wonder if that is no longer the route they are going. If the Packers could get Gaines and Tramon as people have mentioned above cb could move to a middle round concern. Same with TE now that we have Graham. Then you could WR and OLB in the first two rounds.

Tell you one thing, the guys from the Ted Thompson GM tree learned what not too do from him...be aggressive In FA..something he really didn’t do. The Browns are looking like a team that can actually compete for the division next yr...and we Just got better IMO. It frightens me to see what this team would look like if TT was still in Charge. He drafted Jordy so I doubt he would’ve cut him for Jimmy Graham. I also doubt he would’ve fired Capers.

The Texans need DB's like us, so I wouldn't be surprised if they still went after Gaines even after getting Colvin.

Bold font, you must be serious. But I would prefer to draft a TE early 2nd round. The problem with this team is not enough veteran presence with defense. If they get Graham then that means less money to address the corner need.

Rookie TE's don't pan out right away in the NFL. With Rodgers at the helm, the offense needs to click immediately to start the season. Doesn't matter anyway, Pack just signed Jimmy Graham. However (Max Kellerman voice), I would like Green Bay to still consider trading for a TE that can stretch the field, especially if Jordy Nelson doesn't return after getting cut. I envision Graham as a red zone threat or from 30 yards and in. I put things in bold to highlight my main points.

So, you want them to use a draft pick on a TE that can stretch the field when they just spent $10M/year on a guy to do just that? How about drafting a TE that can block?

Can we at least wait until after FA and the draft before we freak out?

Is that too much to ask for?

I would think the freakers are feeling like the FA part of that has already passed us by, and the odds of first year CBs rising to the top are minimal. Perhaps if you would offer some suggestions for which available FA and/or potential draftee would be a productive #1, folks could calm down a bit.

The post your replying to, is a reply to a post, that replied to an earlier post that I posted. Anyways, I proposed GB trading a 6th or 7th rounder to the Chiefs for Demetrius Harris (final year of undrafted rookie contract). He has great size and hands. Younger than Jimmy Graham, I envision two big athletic TE's stretching the seams of the field, with Adams and Cobb (meh) getting chunks on cornerback chumps along with Ty Mont, Aaron Jones, and Jamaal Williams destroying confused LBs. All this, and we don't even know what else Gute has up his sleeve.

I'm convinced that any extension for Rodgers will be structured in a way that will actually give us more cap space in 2018 and maybe even 2019. Its after that we have to worry about

Any team moving up that far into the #1 spot would have to give a multiple first round picks and probably more. Bell alone is not worth multiple first round picks. Cleveland would have to get Bell and the Steelers first rounder at least for this to even start to make sense to them. Don't get me wrong, I think Bell is the second best back in the NFL but he does come with some baggage not to mention he wants top dollar. Yes Barkley is unproven and I know all about hype but the consensus is he is about as close to a sure thing as you can get. If I were Dorsey unless the deal involves Bell, the Steelers first rounder and then some I'd hang up the phone.

Just curious who you think the #1 back is in the NFL?

I'm really hoping that with the main FA cornerback options being dried up, the Packers will make a trade for Ronald Darby. He's younger, better, and more talented than anyone who was on the open market to begin with and shouldn't cost more than a 3rd round pick.

One thing that would make a lot of sense would be to sign a veteran like Rodgers-Cromartie to a one year deal in conjunction with a trade for Darby. Darby is cheap for one more season. So you take advantage of the cheap year by paying a more expensive veteran, but that veteran deal expires before you have to potentially give Darby a big raise. It would also allow a rookie a year to develop before being put into the starting lineup.

Other free agents out there that interest me if the market settles out and they're affordable:

-Brice Butler, WR, DAL: Has the speed and length to provide a field stretching element to the defense.

-Jack Mewhort, G, IND: A durability concern, but solid interior lineman when he's healthy; right on the borderline of Packers type athletically.

-Xavier Su'a-Filo, G, HOU: Super athletic OG who has never been able to unlock his ability; would like to see what Campen can do with him in TC.

-Alex Okafor, ED, NO: Good edge depth if the market doesn't materialize for him.

-Corners: Rodgers-Cromartie, Cockrell, Melvin, Robinson, Carrie.
